Definitions
- the subject of the present invention is a ski boot consisting of a rigid lower part surrounding the foot and the heel and of a rod articulated on this lower part and of which said lower part is provided, at the rear, with a projection constituting a stop for a locking member intended to lock the rod in the advanced position.
- the locking member is constituted by a rocker articulated around a horizontal axis in a cutout of the back of the upper and whose lower end abuts, in the locked position, against the stop.
- the uppers of ski boots have more or less flexibility. This natural flexibility of the shoe is not always adapted to the skier, his technique and his way of skiing. It is therefore desirable to be able to modify the flexibility of the shoe at will.
- "rear entry" shoes that is to say shoes whose upper consists of an anterior part and a posterior part, both articulated, it is known to provide means to change the flexibility of the rod.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a shoe of the type defined above with means that are as simple as possible allowing it to modify the flexibility of the shoe. To this end, the invention uses the existing stop.
- the shoe according to the invention is characterized in that the lower edge of the back of the upper is bent in the direction of the lower part of the shoe below the stop, and that this bent edge has an interruption opposite the stop , of a length greater than the width of the stop, this interruption being able to be closed at will by means of a shutter piece mounted sliding on the bent edge of the rod.
- the interruption When the interruption is closed by the closure piece, the latter abuts against the underside of the stop when the rod tends to tilt forward. Since the upper can no longer tilt around its articulation, the flexibility of the shoe is very greatly reduced. On the other hand, when the interruption is open, the stop can freely cross this interruption, so that the rod can tilt forward around its articulation, the shoe in this case having significant flexibility.
- the invention is applicable to all shoes with an articulated upper, in particular a shoe as described in document FR-A 2 428 413, the rear part of the upper of which is equipped with a support can be placed in a position such that the upper of the shoe is locked in the advanced position.
- the drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
- Figure 1 is a side view of the shoe.
- Figure 2 is a back view of the same shoe.
- Figure 3 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view of this shoe.
- Figure 4 is a view, from the inside, of the lower rear part of the rod in the position of great flexibility.
- Figure 5 is a view similar to that of Figure 4 in the reduced flexibility position.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 corresponds, by most of these characteristics, to the shoe described in document EP-A 0 286 586. We will therefore confine our to a brief description thereof.
- the shoe shown comprises a shell bottom 1 with variable volume on which is articulated at two opposite points 2 and 3, a rod consisting of a collar 4 connected by a connecting bar 5 to a tilting cover 6 articulated at 7 below the necklace 4.
- the collar 4 is provided with two closing and tightening loops 8 and 9.
- the shell 1 is tightened by means of two cables 10 and 11, one end of which is connected to the tilting cover 6 by means of two adjustable cable heads 12 and 13 .
- the tilting rear cover 6 is provided with a rocker 14 articulated around a horizontal axis 15 (FIG. 3).
- This rocker 14 has an arm 16 directed downwards and held in abutment against the shell 1 by a spring 17 acting on the other arm of the rocker 14.
- the lower arm 16 of the rocker 14 is automatically placed above a stop 18 formed by a bent metal piece, fixed on the shell 1. In this position shown in Figure 3, the rod is locked in the advanced position.
- the lower edge of the cover 6 has a bend 19 in the direction of the shell 1.
- This bend 19 however has an interruption 20 below the stop 18, the length of the interruption 20 being greater than the width of the stop 18, as this is illustrated in FIG. 4.
- the bar 22 of the H forms a stop limiting the travel of the sliding part.
- the H profile is asymmetrical to allow the opening and closing of the interruption 20 and this interruption extends further on the side of the longer wings of the H profile to form the stroke necessary for the closure part.
- the interruption 20 is then completely closed.
- the H-shaped section is supported on the two segments 19a and 19b of the bent part, as shown in Figure 5.
- the upper of the shoe abuts against the stop 18 when it tends to tilt forward.
- the upper is therefore practically immobilized, on the one hand by the arm 16 of the lever 14 and on the other hand by the shutter 21.
- the shoe is then relatively rigid.
- the shutter 21 could be executed in a different manner as shown in the drawing. It could for example consist of a sliding bar in a transverse hole at the bottom of the rod. Instead of being sliding, the shutter could be constituted by a part articulated around a horizontal axis or parallel to the leg.
- the sliding shutter 21 can be provided with an actuating button and notch or other positioning means.

Abstract
Description
The subject of the present invention is a ski boot consisting of a rigid lower part surrounding the foot and the heel and of a rod articulated on this lower part and of which said lower part is provided, at the rear, with a projection constituting a stop for a locking member intended to lock the rod in the advanced position.
Such a shoe is described in document EP-A 0 086 908. In this shoe, the locking member is constituted by a rocker articulated around a horizontal axis in a cutout of the back of the upper and whose lower end abuts, in the locked position, against the stop. Furthermore, the uppers of ski boots have more or less flexibility. This natural flexibility of the shoe is not always adapted to the skier, his technique and his way of skiing. It is therefore desirable to be able to modify the flexibility of the shoe at will. In so-called "rear entry" shoes, that is to say shoes whose upper consists of an anterior part and a posterior part, both articulated, it is known to provide means to change the flexibility of the rod. These means are generally adjustable stops placed at the front and cooperating with the rear part of the rod. On the other hand, in the case of shoes whose upper is in one piece, in the form of a necklace, as is the case of the shoe described in document EP-A 0 086 908, it is difficult to provide means of modification flexibility placed at the front. The same problem arises for the shoe described in document EP-A 0 286 586, of which the rod consists of an upper part in the form of a collar and a lower part in the form of an articulated hood connected to the upper part.
The object of the present invention is to provide a shoe of the type defined above with means that are as simple as possible allowing it to modify the flexibility of the shoe. To this end, the invention uses the existing stop.
The shoe according to the invention is characterized in that the lower edge of the back of the upper is bent in the direction of the lower part of the shoe below the stop, and that this bent edge has an interruption opposite the stop , of a length greater than the width of the stop, this interruption being able to be closed at will by means of a shutter piece mounted sliding on the bent edge of the rod.
When the interruption is closed by the closure piece, the latter abuts against the underside of the stop when the rod tends to tilt forward. Since the upper can no longer tilt around its articulation, the flexibility of the shoe is very greatly reduced. On the other hand, when the interruption is open, the stop can freely cross this interruption, so that the rod can tilt forward around its articulation, the shoe in this case having significant flexibility.
This construction can easily be applied to the shoe described in document EP-A 0 286 586 by replacing the seat 28, against which the rocker abuts, with a projecting stop, constituted by an insert or not.
In general, the invention is applicable to all shoes with an articulated upper, in particular a shoe as described in document FR-A 2 428 413, the rear part of the upper of which is equipped with a support can be placed in a position such that the upper of the shoe is locked in the advanced position.
The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
Figure 1 is a side view of the shoe.
Figure 2 is a back view of the same shoe.
Figure 3 is a longitudinal vertical sectional view of this shoe.
Figure 4 is a view, from the inside, of the lower rear part of the rod in the position of great flexibility.
Figure 5 is a view similar to that of Figure 4 in the reduced flexibility position.
On se bornera donc à une description sommaire de celle-ci.The shoe shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 corresponds, by most of these characteristics, to the shoe described in document EP-A 0 286 586. We will therefore confine ourselves to a brief description thereof.
The shoe shown comprises a shell bottom 1 with variable volume on which is articulated at two
The tilting
The lower edge of the
In the position shown in FIG. 4, the
If the
La position de l'obturateur représentée à la figure 5 est repésentée en traits pleins à la figure 2, la position de la figure 4 étant représentée en traits mixtes en 21′.The position of the shutter shown in Figure 5 is shown in solid lines in Figure 2, the position of Figure 4 being shown in phantom in 21 '.
The
The sliding
