External door handle for a motor vehicle and being of the traction type and including one bearing plate (1) able to be secured to the outer wall of the door, a caliper (3) with one of its extremities being mounted pivoting with respect to the bearing plate (1), whereas its other extremity is connected to a control linkage (8), a bolt (13) prolonging the caliper (3), and a recall spring (10) tending to make the caliper pivot in a direction corresponding to its being brought to the bearing plate and formed of two branches (10a and 10b) extending tranversally on both sides of a cylindrical central portion (10c), wherein the bearing plate (1) comprises two newly-moulded ribs (9) and forming between them a "V" in which the cylindrical central portion of the recall spring (10) is engaged, the axis of the central portion (10c) being parallel to the planes of the two ribs (9).
2. Handle according to claim 1, wherein the bolt (13) ensures guiding of the caliper (3) when the latter pivots around the brace (6) of the bearing plate (1).
3. Handle according to claim 2, wherein the caliper (3) comprises a guiding groove (16) in which a guiding lug (15) borne by the bolt (13) is engaged.
4. Handle according to claim 3, wherein the front face (15a) of the lug (15) form an oblique ramp inclined in such a way as to be tangential to the curve described by the bottom of the groove (16).
