Abstract

A tear-open can for hermetically enclosable, in particular dry filling material is provided, which consists of a sheet metal body with a bottom formed on in one piece, corresponding to that of a typical drink can, and a sheet metal cover which is firmly connected to the can edge to form a double-fold seam and which has gassing projections in its fold edge and a tear-opening, which is shaped like a sector of a circle, with a grip tongue in its surface.

Description

The invention relates to a tear-open can made of sheet metal for dry filling materials which can be hermetically sealed under inert gas, in particular peanuts or the like.

Dry fillings, in particular granular fillings, such as nuts or the like, are offered on the market in various packs. Known are the foil bags or the like packed under vacuum, which are in cardboard wrappings. Furthermore, three-part cans made of tinplate or aluminum are known, the lid of which has a circular notch line running close to the edge of the lid to delimit a tear-open part (so-called full tear-open) which essentially opens up the entire opening cross-section. These cans are usually delivered to the packer with a tear-off lid already hermetically sealed to the can body, but with a separate bottom, so that the fillers close the can by filling the bottom after filling the can. After filling, the floor is first clipped onto the bottom edge of the fuselage, whereupon the contents of the can are evacuated in a vacuum chamber and treated with an inert gas, e.g. Nitrogen filled, and then the bottom is closed.

It is an object of the invention to offer a tear-open box for these purposes to the bottler at a lower cost, which is also more convenient and advantageous for the end user to handle.

This object is achieved by the teaching of claim 1.

The can is only formed in two parts and has a lid of a special type, by opening a metering opening when opening, which can be adapted to the type of dry filling material and the size of the filling pieces. This significantly simplifies the handling of the can for the end user and at the same time protects the contents remaining in the container with only partial removal much better than before.

It is particularly advantageous if the tear-open box is designed according to claim 2. In this case, the can can be offered to the bottler at a lower cost, since it is a can that is otherwise produced and used in millions of quantities for carbonated drinks or still drinks. The systems used to seal such cans are also widespread and therefore inexpensive to offer. Nevertheless, the can can be used in a manner suitable for dry contents, namely under evacuation and filling with an inert gas, so that, as before, the quality of the contents can be obtained in a particularly favorable manner and, at the same time, the unstable can can be stabilized by the inert internal pressure is further developed by the lid for the tear-open box according to the teaching of claim 3.

Die weiteren Unteransprüche betreffen vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Lehre nach Anspruch 1.The further subclaims relate to advantageous developments of the teaching according to claim 1.

The invention is explained in more detail below with the aid of schematic drawings using an exemplary embodiment.

Show it:
  • Figure 1 in side view of a tear-open tin made according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 is a plan view on a somewhat larger scale of the lid and intended for use in the box of Figure 1
  • FIG. 3 shows a cross-section through the cover according to FIG. 2 in a detail and on a further enlarged scale.

In the preferred embodiment, the can body 2 of the can 1 corresponds to the body of a typical beverage can as it is used for beer or other carbonated drinks or for still drinks with a content of, for example, 330 ml in millions. The can body 2 is made in one piece from sheet metal, tinplate or aluminum by deep drawing and stretching with a one-piece molded bottom and a one-piece formed folding edge. The bottom 3 is, as indicated in Fig. 1, profiled in order to stabilize it even with overpressure in the can. The fuselage wall is extremely thin and therefore the can body 2 is inherently unstable. The end 4 of the can body containing the opening is preferably drawn in, as shown.

The lid 5, which is also made of sheet metal, has a folded edge 10, which, if necessary with the interposition of a sealing material, is deformed with the fold of the container body to form a conventional mechanically strong and pressure-tight double fold seam 6.

The cover 5 has a cover mirror 12, in which a tear-open part 14 is delimited by a self-contained score line 13. The tear-open part 14 is circular sector-shaped. The radially outer part of the score line runs close to the usual core base bead 11, which is delimited on the outside by the core slope of the cover, from which the cover rebate edge 10 projects radially. The circumferential width of the sector-shaped tear-open part 14 extends over an angle between 100 and 150 ° and, as shown in FIG. 2 at 15, is approximately 130 ° in the preferred embodiment. Its extent along the radius 18 is approximately equal to the length of the radius 18, somewhat less in the preferred embodiment.

On the inner sector corner of the tear-open part 14, a conventional tear-open tab 16 is fastened lying flat on the cover by means of rivets 17, with the aid of which the tear-open part 14 can be broken in and torn out and removed.

As can be seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, several gassing cams 7 distributed in the circumferential direction are embossed in the edge fold 10 of the cover 5. After filling the can, the lid 3 is first clipped onto the edge of the fuselage. In this form, the filled can can be brought into an evacuation chamber and the interior evacuated and then filled with an inert gas, whereupon the can is hermetically sealed by reshaping the edges of the can and lid to form the double seam 6. An overpressure can be generated in the can by the inert gas, which stabilizes the thin-walled body 2. The cams 7 are effective and useful also when a venting or degassing phase is provided or necessary.

The body axis of the can is indicated by 8 in FIG.

The body part 2 of the can 1 can typically correspond to the body part of a beverage can with the dimensions 66/57/115 mm and can be used in an unpainted or lacquered embodiment. In the exemplary embodiment mentioned, the cover can have a diameter of 57 mm.
