Description
Dosenverschluss

Can closure
The present invention relates to a can closure with a closure membrane fastened to the can rim and at least partially destroyed when it is opened for the first time, a reinforcement ring being fastened to the can rim which, together with the closure membrane, consists of a single piece of plastic.
Packages whose contents are hygroscopic are usually hermetically sealed. The demand for airtight and moisture-tight closures comes from the food and luxury goods industry, which produce cold-soluble or dried preparations, for example dry milk, powder coffee, children's food, malt preparations, etc., whose shelf life is limited as soon as they are exposed to air or moisture come into direct contact. The packs used for this generally have a closure consisting of at least three parts, namely a lid for stretching, screwing or slipping over, a metal foil and a metallic stiffening ring made of white sheet, with the aid of which the metal foil is pressed tightly against the container. The metal foil must be destroyed the first time it is opened.
This closure can also be viewed as a guarantee closure, which, in the case of branded articles, guarantees that the original filling is unchanged.
Disadvantages of these previous closures mentioned above are the numerous operations necessary for their manufacture: the metal foil and the ring are each punched out of foils or sheets, drawn, worked together and folded onto the cans. This manufacturing method generates a relatively significant amount of waste and labor.
In a known can closure of the type mentioned at the outset, the reinforcing ring and the closure membrane already consist of a single piece of plastic. The reinforcement ring is inextricably attached to the container from the inside during manufacture of the container. An undercut is necessary for this, which requires a relatively expensive injection molding tool. The insertion of the ring from the inside of the container opening is also relatively difficult. The known can closure furthermore does not have a lid, so that after the membrane has been torn open, the container can no longer be closed airtight.
The present invention aims to remedy these shortcomings.
The invention is characterized in that the reinforcing ring from the outside of the can encompasses the edge of the can on both sides, is connected to it and has a bead which protrudes radially from the can edge and is intended to reach under an elastically deformable lid.
The reinforcement ring comprises from the outside of the can on both sides the edge of the can and can be used with this z. B. be connected by welding or spraying. The can edge can therefore, for. B. run smoothly cylindrical and does not require any bends. The part of the reinforcing ring that encompasses the edge of the can inevitably results in beads that simultaneously serve to reach under an elastically deformable lid which can be snapped onto the can and detached from it. The cover can be designed either as an over-grip cover or as a plug-in cover.
The invention is to be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing of some exemplary embodiments. Show it:
1 shows a partial section through the upper part of the can with membrane closure and slip-on lid,
2 shows a section through the upper part of the can with membrane closure and insert lid,
3 shows a partial section through the upper part of the can with membrane closure and slip-on lid, in which, however, only part of the membrane closure surface is provided for opening by means of a zipper,
4 shows a partial section through the upper part of the can with membrane closure and spout for cutting open the pouring opening and a slip-on lid,
5 shows a top view of the can closure according to FIGS
Fig.
6 shows a section through the upper part of the can with the lid, sealing membrane and reinforcing ring made of one piece.
Fig. 1 shows a part of a can closure in section with a can rim 10, a weldable reinforcing ring 11, which is formed into a bead on the outside, an inner ring 13 and a closure membrane 14, the parts 11, 13 and 14 fabricated in a single piece and the membrane 14 expediently has a thickness of 0.2-0.4 mm. This membrane 14 is provided with a weakening groove 26 for better cutting open. Furthermore, there is a slip-on cover 15 which grips with its grip edge 12 under the reinforcement ring 11.
Fig. 2 shows a similar closure as in Fig. 1, but with a push-in lid. This can closure consists of the can rim 20, an inner reinforcement ring including a bead 21 and an outer bead 22, a membrane disk 23 with a weakening groove 26 and the push-in lid 24 with a snap bead 25 cooperating with the bead 21.
The can closure attached to the can rim 27 according to FIG. 3 has an inner reinforcing ring 28, an outer bead 29 and a membrane 30 including a tear-off tab 31 for partial opening. The membrane 30 is provided with a circular weakening groove 32. A hooded lid 33 with an upper grip edge 34 is stretched over the outer bead 29.
The closure according to FIGS. 4 and 5 has a can rim 35, an inner reinforcing ring 36, an outer bead 37 and a spout.
This pouring spout is bounded by a raised wall 38 and the inner reinforcing ring 36 and closed at the top by a membrane 39 which has a weakening groove 40. Furthermore, a relatively solid membrane 42, which remains in place even after use, and a cover 41 are provided.
FIG. 6 shows a can closure similar to that according to FIG. 2, in which, however, a plug-in lid 43 is fastened to the reinforcing bead 45 at one point by means of welding 44 and the welding point thus acts as a lid hinge. The reinforcement ring 47, the membrane 48 and the cover 43 can be fabricated as a whole in one operation.
Likewise, an inside handle 46 is provided on the cover 43 opposite the welding point 44 for lifting and folding over the cover 43.
The can body can consist of belch, cardboard or plastic, preferably of plastic-coated cardboard. The connection of the reinforcement ring to the can rim can be done in different ways, depending on the material of the can body. If the can body is made of plastic or plastic-coated cardboard, the connection can be carried out using one of the known plastic welding methods, namely by direct action of heat or with high frequency, ultrasound or other suitable methods. If the can body is made of cardboard or sheet metal, it is advisable to glue the reinforcement ring on.
It is also possible to inject the reinforcement ring together with the membrane as a single piece of plastic directly onto the can jacket, so that further gluing or the like is unnecessary.
Another possibility is that the push-in or overlapping cover with the reinforcing ring and membrane is also formed into a whole by means of a tab connection and welded onto the can body.
These lid closures can be mounted on containers with a round, rectangular, polygonal or oval cross-section, with a can body z. B. can be cylindrical or conical.
The welding of the cover to the outer bead of the reinforcement ring, as shown and explained in an example in FIG. 6, can also be used in other exemplary embodiments, e.g. B. those according to Fig. 1, 3 or 4 are used.
