Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is a ski boot consisting of a shell-shaped lower part comprising the sole and surrounding at least the foot and the heel and of a rod consisting of a front part and a rear part and at least the rear part of which is articulated on the lower shell-shaped part around a transverse axis, and comprising means for diagonally clamping the foot consisting of a pressure distributor located inside the shoe, at the height of the instep, and of a tensioning device mounted at the rear of the shoe on said rear articulated part of the upper to exert traction on the pressure distributor towards the heel by means of at least one cable or the like passing over said distributor and guided by guide means arranged laterally on the shoe to orient the action of the cable on the distributor in the direction of the heel.
  • the aim of the present invention is to obtain a shoe with neutral behavior, as defined above, without the need to pass the cable through a hole intercepting the hinge pin.
  • the shoe according to the invention is characterized in that the cable or the like forms a loop passing, on one side of the shoe, below and above the axis of articulation of the rear part of the upper , substantially at the same distance from this axis, and, on the other side of the shoe, freely on a reference fixed inside the shell, so that during the bending of the upper of the shoe, the the traction exerted by the cable on the distributor is practically unchanged.
  • the loop can be closed at the tensioner, that is to say that in this case the two ends of the loop are connected to the tensioning device.
  • the loop can also be closed at a point between the tensioning device and the articulation of the rod.
  • the division of the cable into two strands on the pressure distributor has a favorable load distribution effect on the pressure distributor and therefore on the instep.
  • Figure 1 partially shows a shoe viewed from three quarters of the rear.
  • Figure 2 is a partial view in vertical longitudinal section of the same shoe.
  • FIG. 3 is a detail view in section along III-III of FIG. 2.
  • the shoe shown is a shoe of the rear entry type.
  • FIG. 1 it is shown in transparency so as to show the interior.
  • This shoe comprises a shell or shell bottom 1 shown in solid lines, which includes the sole and surrounds the foot and the heel.
  • This shell bottom also has a portion extending over the instep and a tongue extending over the Achilles tendon.
  • On this bottom of shell 1 is articulated a rod in two parts consisting of a front cover 2 and a rear cover 3 which fits into the front cover 2.
  • the covers 2 and 3 are articulated on the bottom of shell 1 , on each side of it by means of two axes, only the left axis 4, which interests us here, being represented.
  • a pressure distributor 6 consisting of a tongue made of semi-rigid plastic material and in the form of a horse saddle extending on the neck. instep between the shell and a comfort boot, not shown.
  • the tab can be attached to the liner by its lower end 6a or, according to another embodiment, by its upper part to the shell.
  • One end of the cable 5 is connected to a tensioner 7 mounted on the rear cover 3 of the rod.
  • tensioners are described, for example, in documents EP-A-0 157 240, EP-A-0 114 209 and EP-A-0 230 063.
  • the tensioner 7 could also be of the drum type as described in U.S. Patent 4,620,378.
  • the articulation of the rod is carried out by means of rivets.
  • the articulation point shown is produced by means of a rivet 4, the head 4a of which is outside the boot (fig. 3).
  • this rivet is riveted on a washer 8 covering a recess 9 made in the interior wall of the shell 1.
  • the washer 8 has been removed to show the passage of the cable.
  • the cable 5 Starting from the tensioner 7, the cable 5, first guided by the lower edge of the rear cover 3 where it changes direction, enters the interior of the shell 1 through a hole 10 provided in this shell and opening into the recess 9.
  • the cable 5 then passes through the recess 9, under the rivet 4, pressing against this rivet. It then rises diagonally, passes over the pressure distributor 6 then into a reference 11 consisting of a piece of folded sheet metal and riveted to the inner wall of the shell opposite the rivet 4.
  • the cable 5 then passes, in the other direction, on the pressure distributor 6, descends diagonally substantially parallel to the previous strand 5a, enters the recess 9 under the washer 8, sliding on the rivet 4, then leaves the shell through the hole 10 and its other end is fixed at 12 on the cable itself, between the hole 10 and the tensioner 7.
  • the cable strands 5a and 5b should pass at equal distance from the geometric axis of the articulation of the rod, c '' i.e. the axis of the rivet 4.
  • the two ends of the cable 5 could be attached to the tensioner 7, the two strands 5a and 5b being of course guided in parallel, for example in a common guide path.
  • the strand 5b could pass under a material axis fixed on the shell 1.
  • the two strands of cable 5a and 5b could pass at a certain distance from the rivet 4.
  • the reference 11 could consist of a pulley with throat instead of a simple passer-by such as the passer-by 11.
  • a second cable similar to the cable 5 could pass on the other side of the shoe and on the pressure distributor 6, below the strand 5a.
  • the cable could be guided by a projection formed in the material of the shell instead of the hole shown.
  • the invention is also applicable to a shoe with rear entry, of which only the rear cover is articulated around an axis.
