Abstract

A child-resistant screw closure can also be used for relatively large containers (10), which are common in the washing-agent and rinsing-agent sector, if a press-in zone (18) to be pressed in radially to release the child-resistant arrangement is part of a tipping cheek (3) which is pivotable about a tipping axis (4) which runs approximately tangentially in relation to the screwing axis (6) of the screw cap (1) (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a child-resistant screw cap with a screw cap that can be opened by simultaneously pressing radially at least one press-in zone and screwing turning a container with a bottle-like thin neck.

In the present context, screw caps are meant that can be pressed in with one hand in the radial direction and rotated in the circumferential direction. Since children of the vulnerable age do not yet have the ability to exercise these two forces or movements, one speaks of child safety. The screw cap itself can consist of very different materials and can be assigned to any container, but especially bottles.

There are already child-resistant screw caps, especially with numerous pharmaceutical bottles, which is relative small volume of the application can be made correspondingly small. Would the caps of larger containers, for. B. for detergents or detergents, simply enlarge to scale starting from screw caps of pharmaceutical bottles, the radial indentation forces required to unlock the childproof lock would be much too great for practice. Since the enlargement of the geometrical scale also increases the indentation areas, there is also the risk of unintentionally unlocking the child lock if the indentation forces are reduced.

The invention has for its object to provide a child-resistant screw cap, which can also be used in practice and especially with larger, preferably in the detergent and dishwashing industry containers and easy to handle.

The solution according to the invention for the screw cap with a screw cap of a container having a bottle-like thin neck, which can be opened by simultaneously pressing at least one press-in zone and screwing and turning, consists in that at least one extending parallel to the screw axis and one approximately tangential with respect to the screw axis The tilting axis to be pivoted is mounted in one piece via an elastic material web forming the tilting axis in the jacket of the screw cap, so that the lower side of the tilting cheek, which faces the container, has at least one locking tooth on the inside to be locked into a groove provided on the neck of the thread and that Press-in zone from the longitudinal end of the tilting cheek opposite the locking tooth at the head of the Screw cap exists.

The invention provides a locking device as a child safety device which can be locked or unlocked by pivoting a tilting cheek designed as an axially extending longitudinal strip of the screw cap. To push in or to actuate the tilting cheek, only the restoring force has to be overcome, which opposes the material of the web forming the tilting axis.

According to the invention, pressing in or unlocking is possible with relatively little force, but the force must be applied at a specific point on the tilting cheek. The abstraction required to not only perform the two movements at the same time but also to find certain pressure points is not accessible to a child of the age at risk.

Childproofing is further improved without noticeably making handling more difficult if not only one tilting cheek but two diametrically opposed tilting cheeks (in relation to the screw axis) are provided, each with a locking tooth for the groove arranged at the base of the neck.

An unnoticed opening of a still unused container with the screw cap is excluded if, according to a further invention, each tilting cheek is only connected to the adjacent material of the screw cap except at its material web of the tilting axis via at least one tamper-evident bridge which can be broken open by the first impression. Such a tamper-evident seal, also known as a seal, can be used preferably consist of a material bridge between the jacket of the screw cap and the press-in zone of the tilting cheek.

Favorable for the manufacturing and assembly work of the screw closure is the possibility of being able to press, inject or similarly manufacture this component in one piece. In a construction which is particularly advantageous in this sense, the screw cap becomes double-walled with an essentially cylindrical design of its outer jacket in the region between its cover surface facing away from the container and the radial material web on the tilting axis with sufficient radial distance for the tilting of the locking tooth and groove formed between the inner and outer jacket. The thread required for screwing the closure on its inside can then be attached to the inside of the inner casing. This means that the thread is not affected by the locking mechanism provided for child safety.

As already mentioned, the screw cap can be made from any material suitable for the application. In the detergent and dishwashing detergent industry, the one-piece screw cap should consist of a plastic that is particularly resistant to hypochlorites and surfactants.

  • Fig. 1 eine perspektivische Darstellung des Schraubverschlusses auf dem Hals eines Behälters;
Details of the invention are explained on the basis of the schematic representation of an exemplary embodiment. Show it:
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the screw cap on the neck of a container.
  • 2 shows a perspective illustration, partly in section, with the closure unscrewed from the container neck; and
  • 3 is a perspective view - seen obliquely from below - of the closure of FIGS. 1 and 2.

Günstig im Sinne einer Verstärkung dieser Rückstellkraft ist die dem Zylinderumfang folgende Biegung des Stegs 5 bzw. der Achse 4.1 to 3, the child-resistant screw cap consists of a screw cap, generally designated 1, with tilting cheeks 3 integrated in diametrically opposite, axially extending longitudinal strips of its jacket 2, which are essentially connected to the main body of the screw cap 1 only via material webs 5 acting as tilting axis 4 are. The tilt axis 4 is approximately to be thought of as a chord or tangent to the basically cylindrical screw cap 1. Optionally, the screw cap 1 is formed essentially symmetrically with respect to its screw axis 6. Important on the tilt axis 4 or on the material web 5 which represents it is the elastic restoring force which the latter exerts on the tilt cheek 3 in such a way that the tilt cheek 3 normally assumes the locking position described in more detail below, ie in the state without external influence. The cylinder circumference is favorable in terms of increasing this restoring force following bend of the web 5 or the axis 4.

In use, the screw cap 3 is screwed with its internal thread 7 onto an external thread 8 on the neck 9 of a container 10. On the neck extension 11, the external thread 8 has at least one groove 13 in a locking ring 12. Preferably, this groove 13 - as shown - is formed approximately sawtooth-shaped with a stop 14, so that there is on the lower longitudinal end 15 facing the container 10 on the inside of the tilting cheek 3 provided locking tooth 16 (Fig. 3) can snap into the groove 13 by turning the screw cap 1. Due to the restoring force acting in the material web 5, the locking tooth 16 is normally pressed into the groove 13, that is to say in the locking position. The shapes of the groove 13 and locking tooth 16 are chosen so that unscrewing the screw cap 1 is not possible without unlocking.

Unlocking takes place in that the tilting cheek 3 is moved above the tilting axis 4 in the direction of the arrow 19 by radially pressing in the press-in zone 18 adjacent to the cover zone 17 of the screw cap 1 opposite the container 10; as a result, the lower longitudinal end 15 of the tilting cheek 3 is lifted radially out of the circumferential surface of the screw cap 1, essentially with respect to the (cylinder) jacket 2. In order to facilitate this handling, it is generally advisable to mark directional arrows 19 for the indentation on the cover surface 17.

In principle, the tilting cheek 3 is connected to the body of the screw cap 1 only via the essentially radial material webs 5. There is therefore a circumferential slot 20, which is also extends through the cover surface 17, provided. The slot 20 can only be interrupted with the help of tamper-evident bridges 21 before the first use. The tamper-evident bridges 21 are expediently provided in the region of the jacket 2 on one or both sides of the press-in zone 18. The tamper-evident bridges 21 are broken open when the arrow 19 is pressed in for the first time. An important advantage of the invention is therefore that it can be easily checked whether the closure was already open or not.

For the manufacture and handling of the closure, it has proven to be advantageous if the screw cap 1 is designed with double walls in the area between the cover surface 17 and the pivot axis 4 or material web 5. The screw cap 1 then consists of the outer casing 2 and an inner casing 22 which carries the internal thread 7 and is connected to the tilting cheek 3 at its lower end 23 facing the container 10 via the material web 5. The mutual radial distance a between the outer jacket 2 and the inner jacket 22 is chosen so large that the tooth 16 can slide completely out of the groove 13 when the press-in zone 18 is pressed in in the direction of the arrow 19.
