Description

The invention relates to a dispensing head for an additive, intended to be mounted on the outlet of a container containing a product, generally delivered in the form of aerosol-foam or paste, said head being of the type which comprise a central channel for the passage of the product from the container and a chamber surrounding the central channel and containing the additive, means for removing the additive being provided towards the end of the chamber opposite the container, while means for entering the product into said chamber are provided to allow this product to drive the additive out of the chamber, in order to form beads of additive in the product delivered at the outlet of the central channel, a sliding element relative to the central channel being provided to close the passage between the container and the chamber, the central channel of the head comprising a section integral with the end of the head remote from the container and f bordered by a cylindrical wall which stops at a distance, considered along the active cylindrical surface extending the wall downwards, from the bottom wall of the chamber.

A dispensing head of this kind is known, for example from FR-A-1 341 226 and makes it possible to add to the product of the container an additive such as a dye or a perfume, at the time of use; this avoids prolonged storage contact between the additive and the product and possible deterioration.

The storage of the dispensing head however poses problems with regard to the conservation of the additive and its protection against the ambient atmosphere. In addition, it is desirable that the mounting of the dispensing head on the container is carried out simply and quickly.

The object of the invention is, above all, to provide a dispensing head of the type defined above in which, during storage, the chamber containing the additive is well isolated from the atmosphere, said head having to allow rapid mounting on the container. , with simple commissioning.

According to the invention, a dispensing head for an additive intended to be mounted on the outlet of a container containing a product, generally delivered in the form of an aerosol-foam or paste, comprises a central channel for the passage of the product. coming from the container and a chamber surrounding the central channel and containing the additive, means for removing the additive being provided towards the end of the chamber opposite the container, while means for entering the product into said chamber are provided to allow this product to drive the additive out of the chamber, in order to form beads of additive in the product delivered at the outlet of the central channel, a sliding element relative to the central channel being provided to close the passage between the container and the chamber, the central channel of the head comprising a section integral with the end of the. head remote from the container and formed by a cylindrical wall which stops at a distance, considered along the imaginary cylindrical surface extending the wall downward, from the bottom wall of the chamber, and is characterized in that the the element is a tube mounted to slide relative to this central channel section and to a sleeve fixed to the bottom of the chamber, said tube having towards its end intended to be turned towards the container with openings in its wall, the assembly being such that in a storage position, the tubing cooperates only a minimum with said central channel section, this minimum cooperation being sufficient to ensure a tight closure, and the openings of said tubing do not communicate with the annular chamber which is thus isolated, while in a second working position, the tubing has been moved by sliding relative to the central channel section, and said openings establish communication between this central channel and the annular chamber.

Preferably, the tubing is slidably mounted inside said central channel section.

Advantageously, the dispensing head comprises, on the container side, an outer wall forming a cylindrical sleeve, the inner surface of which is capable of closing the openings of the above-mentioned tubing when the latter is in the storage position; the cylindrical sleeve is extended, on the side opposite to the container, by a part tapered flare that connects to an outer cylindrical wall of the dispensing head.

The openings provided in the tubing can be formed by longitudinal notches which open onto the end of said tubing intended to be located towards the container.

Generally, the dispensing head is intended to be mounted on an outlet nozzle of a container, of cylindrical shape; the sleeve of the dispensing head is suitable for engaging with gentle friction on said nozzle, and the sliding tube has an outside diameter substantially equal to that of the nozzle so that the placement of the dispensing head on the container causes the tubing to slide under the action of the thrust of said nozzle.

Advantageously, the end of the central channel opening towards the outside is extended by a frustoconical part flaring on the side opposite to the container, and in particular allowing the product of the container to expand.

This frustoconical part is preferably bordered, at its outer end, by a peripheral ring, closing the annular chamber, ring in which are provided through holes constituting the outlet means for the additive.

Radial partitions, in particular regularly angularly spaced apart, are advantageously provided in the chamber which surrounds the central channel.

The ratio of the diameter of the central channel to the sum of the diameters of the additive outlet holes is chosen according to the desired length for the beads formed in the product dispensed and according to the viscosity of the additive.

For storage, the dispensing head is closed, at its end remote from that intended to be mounted on the container, by a cover, in particular heat-sealed. The other end of the dispensing head chamber is closed by the tubing in the storage position; if necessary, this closure may be supplemented by another heat-sealed cap on the corresponding end of the dispensing head.

The invention also relates to a container containing a product, generally delivered in the form of aerosol-foam or paste, characterized in that it is equipped with a dispensing head as defined above.

The invention consists, apart from the arrangements set out above, of a certain number of other arrangements which will be more explicitly discussed below in connection with a particular embodiment described with reference to the attached drawings, but which is in no way limiting.

Figure 1 of these drawings shows in perspective with cut parts, a dispensing head according to the invention in the storage position, before mounting on the container.

Figure 2 shows, similarly to Figure 1, the dispensing head mounted on the container.

Referring to Figure 1 of the drawings, one can see a dispensing head 1 for an additive 2, this head being intended to be mounted on the outlet 3 of a container 4 containing a product. In the example considered, the container 4 is a pressurized container capable of delivering, when the user exerts pressure on a valve, an aerosol-foam through the outlet 3. It is clear however that the dispensing head 1 could be mounted on the outlet of a container of another type, for example on the outlet of a tube with a deformable wall, containing a paste, in particular a toothpaste.

The head 1 comprises a central channel 5 for the passage of the product coming from the container 4 and an annular chamber 6 surrounding the central channel 5 and the cylindrical wall 7 limiting this channel. Chamber 6 contains the additive 2 and is limited towards the outside by a cylindrical wall 8 coaxial with the wall 7. Radial partitions 9, between the wall 8 and the wall 7, are regularly spaced in the annular chamber 6 so as to compartmentalize it in the peripheral direction. The cylindrical outer wall 8 is engaged with clamping and is fixed, in particular by welding, in a flange 10̸ which is connected to a cylindrical sleeve 11 coaxial but of smaller diameter, by a frustoconical part 12 whose diameter gradually decreases from the flange 10̸ towards the sleeve 11. This frustoconical part 12 constitutes, as it were, the bottom of the annular chamber 6. The partitions 9 extend up to the part 12 of which they are integral (see FIG. 4); the lower end of each partition 9 is inclined so as to match the surface of the part 12.

The cylindrical wall 7 forms a section integral with the end 13 of the head remote from the container 4. The wall 7 stops at a certain distance d from the bottom wall 12, this distance d being considered along the cylindrical surface fictitious extending the wall 7 downwards.

Le diamètre interne du manchon 11 est égal à celui de la paroi 7.The internal diameter of the sleeve 11 is equal to that of the wall 7.

A cylindrical tube 14 is slidably mounted relative to the section of the central channel 5 formed by the wall 7, inside this channel.

The tubing 14 has, towards its end intended to be turned towards the container 4, openings 15 in its wall, regularly distributed on the outskirts. These openings 15 are advantageously constituted by longitudinal notches which open onto the end of the tube 14 facing the container 4.

La chambre annulaire 6 se trouve ainsi isolée du canal central 5, sur l'espace correspondant à la distance d, par la paroi de la tubulure 14.The assembly is designed so that, in a storage position, shown in FIG. 1, the tubing 14 cooperates only a minimum with the wall 7, enough however for the engagement of the upper end of the tubing 14 in the wall 7 provides a sealed closure, while the openings 15 do not communicate with the annular chamber 6 and are closed by the internal surface of the sleeve 11. The annular chamber 6 is thus isolated from the central channel 5, on the space corresponding to the distance d , through the wall of the pipe 14.

In a working position, shown in FIG. 2, the tubing 14 has been inserted axially into the wall 7 by a sufficient distance so that communication between the chamber 2 and the central channel 5 is established by the openings 15.

The outlet 3 of the container is provided with a nozzle of cylindrical shape whose diameter is substantially equal to that of the tube 14; the sleeve 11 is suitable for engaging with gentle friction on said cylindrical nozzle of the outlet 3 so that the positioning of the head 1 on the container 4 causes the tubing 14 to slide inside the cylindrical wall 7 under the thrust of said outlet nozzle 3.

The end of the central channel 5 opening towards the outside is extended by a frustoconical part 16 flaring on the side opposite to the container 4 and allowing in particular the foam, coming from the container, to expand before taking charge the additive, for example a dye, which prevents destruction of the streaks formed by the additive.

This frustoconical part 16 is bordered, at its outer end, by a peripheral crown 17 closing the annular chamber 2. Passage holes 18, regularly spaced, are provided in this crown 17 and constitute the outlet means for the additive.

The ratio of the diameter of the central channel 5 to the sum of the diameters of the outlet holes 18 of the additive is chosen according to the desired length for the beads or ridges formed in the dispensed product, and according to the viscosity of the additive.

Eventuellement, on pourrait prévoir un deuxième opercule thermoscellé sur l'extrémité du manchon 11.For storage, the dispensing head is closed by a heat-sealed cap on its end 13, and, on the other hand, by the tube 14 which occupies the position of FIG. 1. Optionally, a second heat-sealed lid could be provided on the end of the sleeve 11.

The use of a dispensing head 1 in accordance with the invention immediately results from the foregoing explanations.

After removing the cover covering the end 13, and, if necessary, the cover covering the lower part of the sleeve 11, this sleeve 11 is engaged on the outlet nozzle 3. This causes the tubing to sink. 14 in the channel 5 as shown in FIG. 2. The annular chamber 6 is then placed in communication through the openings 15, with the central channel 5.

L'autre fraction de la mousse sort directement par le canal central 5.When the output of the product contained in the container 4 is controlled, a portion of this product, in the form of foam in the example considered, enters the chamber 6 and drives the additive out through the holes 18 The other fraction of the foam leaves directly through the central channel 5.

The additive chased through the holes 18 will form streaks on the foam rod which comes out through the central channel 5.

The ratio between the sum of the surfaces of the openings 15 and the transverse surface of the tubing 14 defines the proportion of foam which will enter the chamber 6, and therefore the length of the streaks on the strand of foam which leaves the channel 5.

The dispensing head according to the invention is particularly suitable for adding an additional product 2 to a main product leaving the channel 5 in the form of foam. However, this head could also be suitable for adding an additional product to a main product leaving in the form of a paste.
