Description
The invention relates to a method for cleaning objects with environmentally hazardous solvents, in particular halogenated hydrocarbons, in a system which is essentially closed during the cleaning process.
Due to improper storage, handling, transport, or improper recycling after they have been contaminated, solvents can either lead to treatment plants or storage to pose significant environmental risks, for example if they are spilled and then get into the ground or into the groundwater. Conversely, particularly dangerous substances, such as halogenated hydrocarbons (HKW), have excellent solvent properties for industry; they are also popular because they are non-flammable. Nonetheless, the legislature has only permitted their use to a very limited extent, for example in such a way that only 10 l may be available per workplace.
In particular, cold cleaning systems based on organic solvents are known, in which the solvents are dried over air. It is known to some systems that the air through activated carbon filters management, a release to the environment is nevertheless not avoided with certainty. The weak points of known methods or devices therefore lie in the handling, storage and transportation of such solvents.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a solution with which the transport and in particular the handling of such solvents is simplified, while at the same time reducing or completely avoiding the risk to people and the environment and with which in particular optimum utilization and recovery of the Solvent is achieved.
With a method of the type mentioned, this object is achieved according to the invention in that a part of this solvent is conveyed into a processing space from a large-volume storage tank of solvent, that subsequently the objects to be cleaned are wetted with the solvent in the processing space and by this are cleaned, the solvent is conveyed back from the processing space into a collecting tank after one or more cleaning processes and / or the gas atmosphere in the processing space is filtered and cleaned before the cleaned objects are removed.
With the invention it is achieved that in particular cold cleaning processes are practically carried out in a closed system. A load on the environment, in particular the ambient air, is thus avoided. A very special advantage of the invention lies in the optimal utilization of a solvent by the partial removal or the removal of portions of solvent from the storage tank for fresh solvent, the availability of this solvent in the area of the processing space until it is so dirty that it leads to regeneration becomes. Once this level of contamination is reached, it can be returned to the second tank. This ensures that a comparatively resine or completely pure solvent is always available for the user of the system.
In an embodiment it is provided that at least two storage chambers for essentially contaminated solvent on the one hand and pure solvent on the other hand are assigned to the processing space, a prewash stage being preceded by a main wash stage by means of the contaminated solvent. This design makes economic process management possible in particular and is careful with the amounts of solvents, the frequency for regenerating contaminated solvents being additionally reduced. Instead of two Storage chambers can also be provided a plurality of corresponding storage chambers, each of which can hold a volume of solvent necessary for the treatment. Depending on the number of prewash stages, the degree of soiling in the chambers can be higher, with the most contaminated solvent being prewashed in a prewash stage, with the subsequent, somewhat cleaner solvent, a second prewash stage is carried out until the final cleaning is finally carried out with the cleanest solvent. If the degree of soiling is so high in the heavily soiled stage that it is no longer sensible to prewash it, this last amount of solvent is then returned to the collecting tank and a very clean, fresh amount of solvent is fed back into the system.
At this point, a very special advantage of the invention should be pointed out, which consists in the fact that storage chambers can also be filled with chemically similar substances for application. For example, workpieces can be cleaned first and, after the cleaning process has ended, an anti-corrosion agent can be applied to the cleaned objects from the application chamber or a release agent or a paint coating, an adhesive coating or the like without removing the objects to be treated from the system have to be ten.
In a further embodiment it is provided that when the gas atmosphere of the processing space is cleaned, the gasified cleaning agent is recovered and, if necessary, the condensate is returned to one of the storage containers. This procedure also contributes to economic efficiency, since solvent present in the gas space is recovered. Of course, the aim of the invention is taken into account in a particularly favorable manner, namely not polluting the environment with such solvents, these are completely recovered.
To achieve the object described above, the invention also provides a device which is equipped with two larger-volume storage tanks for solvents and a handling container for currently smaller volume solvent to be used.
Such a device has the advantage that larger amounts of solvent are available, but at the same time it can be ensured that only a small volume supply is currently available to the user, so that even improper handling cannot spill even small amounts.
In an embodiment it is provided that the handling container is assigned a collecting tank for used solvent, the storage tank, handling container and collecting tank being effectively coupled.
A special embodiment of the invention consists in that at least two storage chambers for clean or slightly soiled solvent on the one hand and for heavily soiled solvent on the other hand are assigned to the handling container. This results in the advantages described above, namely that only small amounts of heavily or very heavily soiled solvents, just required for cleaning, are always available in the cleaning system and only then is a heavily soiled solvent returned from one of the storage chambers when one Pre-cleaning with this soiled solvent is no longer necessary, rather the soiled solvent must be supplied for regeneration. This results in an optimal use of the solvent.
With this configuration it can be achieved that, for example, the handling container is first flooded with the amount of solvent assigned to it and after corresponding treatment cycles and thus corresponding contamination of the Solvent can then be drained into the container. Now the handling container can be flooded again with fresh solvent. The effective positive coupling of the containers enables control in such a way that a backflow of used solvent into fresh solvent is avoided, as is overfilling of the handling container.
In order to achieve a defined fill level of solvent in the handling container, the invention also provides an overflow line to the collecting tank. This ensures that e.g. if the amount of fresh solvent is too large, the excess solvent is fed directly into the collecting tank, i.e. this also avoids the risk that, for example, the handling container will overflow.
In order to prevent solvents from being unnecessarily spilled or dripped at the workplace, the invention also provides for the handling container to be provided with a drip zone and / or an overflow gutter or drip gutter. The draining zone can be designed so that the solvent drips directly back into the handling container or directly into the collecting tank.
Who can be reached with the features of the device described above, namely the overflow and the draining zones that a half-open hand and processing mode is also possible, namely when it is guaranteed what the overflow ensures that less than 5 L of solvent are available in the processing room. Here you can clean by hand, for example, with the lid open. After a certain period of rest in the drip zone, the cleaned part can then be removed without the ambient air being contaminated with solvent.
In a further embodiment it is provided that the gas space of the handling container is provided with a circulating air cleaning device, this is provided in particular if larger-volume treatment rooms are also provided which are closed during the entire processing time.
In order to increase the effectiveness of the treatment agent, the invention also provides that a circulation device and / or a spray device and / or an ultrasound oscillating device is provided in the handling container, ie aids that are known per se in a different context. The invention also provides that the two storage tanks are arranged on a conveyor pallet and / or that the handling container is formed in one piece with the conveyor pallet and the tanks arranged thereon.
Further advantages of the device described above can be seen essentially in the fact that a restriction to high-quality solvents, which are, however, environmentally hazardous, no longer has to be carried out at the workplace. Forced coupling ensures that the solvent is always handled safely, so that there is no strain on people and the environment, particularly when the handling container is being filled and emptied. Fresh solvent is always available and can be used in small quantities. The fresh and old materials can be transported to the end user in simple transport systems without this coming into contact with them, in particular care is taken to carefully store the environmentally hazardous old materials in the collecting container.
Due to the essentially complete collection of the existing substances, the solvents can be optimally reprocessed, i.e. The environment is also relieved in this respect, the processing companies can also remove the residues in the solvent.
The invention is explained below with reference to the drawing, for example. In the single figure, this shows a side view of a larger-volume device according to the invention.
The device, generally designated 1, has on a transport pallet 2 a larger-

In the example shown, the

The gas space of the
Both the
First, the workpiece or
The
If the solvent in
Of course, the described embodiment of the invention can be modified in many ways without departing from the basic idea. For example, in the case of small-volume processing containers which can only be filled with 5 l, the lid can be dispensed with, where appropriate, an annular suction of the container air can be provided u. Like. more. The device can also be used, e.g. Automatically operating spray heads or the like on robot arms which have to process adhesive, foam or similar curing materials during the inactive times of the spray heads, for example in such a way that the robot arm passes through a lock into the
