Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a printing form for a printing press with areas which can be activated and deleted repeatedly and which, after activation, are ink-accepting.
From DE-OS 36 33 758 it is already known to produce ink-accepting areas on a printing form by locally polarizing or dipolarizing the printing form consisting of ferroelectric material. This requires additional devices on the printing form (for example in the form of a printing cylinder) which have electrodes and heat sources for the reversal processes in the polarization regions. Starting from this prior art, it is the object of the present invention to provide an electronically activatable printing form which can be operated exclusively with electrical or electronic switching elements, so that no aids need to be attached from the outside.
This object is achieved by a semiconductor layer arranged on a carrier, which has capacitive or inductive regions in the form of a grid, each of which can be charged or excited by a selectively controllable electronic switching element. Further developments of the invention result from the subclaims and from the following description in conjunction with the drawings.
The invention makes it possible to bring the print motif created in an editorial terminal directly onto the electronically activatable forme cylinder. The production and clamping of a conventional printing plate is therefore no longer necessary. The motif to be printed can be changed during operation from the editorial terminal. After the for controlling the Areas required means can preferably be arranged inside the cylinder carrying the printing form, the device according to the invention is space-saving and optimally protected against environmental influences. The semiconductor layer preferably consists of a thin silicon-containing layer, as is known from computer technology, it being possible for these transistor / capacitor or transistor / inductance patterns to be introduced by conventional diffusion methods. As is generally known from microelectronics technology, it is possible to produce a packing density of 600 areas per
The individual transistors can be controlled by a computer (stationary or in the forme cylinder) by means of an address bus. The transistors, which preferably form the electronic switching elements in the semiconductor layer, are driven by a data bus which can transmit switching commands (on / off) and by a supply bus. The electrostatic or capacitive or magnetic patterns built up element by element then serve to allow suitable color, such as ferro-fluid color or electrostatically charged color or toner, to adhere directly or via a protective layer arranged on the semiconductor layer, in accordance with the motif to be printed. This protective layer should be wear-resistant.
- Fig. 1 Zylinder einer Rotationsdruckmaschine,
- Fig. 3 einen Transistor/Induktivitätsbereich.

- Fig. 3 shows a transistor / inductance area.
Preferably, in particular because of the high working speed, the printing form according to the invention is used on a so-called
Fig. 2 shows the
As can be seen in FIG. 2, the individual areas are arranged in
The latter can be field effect transistors or so-called MOS transistors (metal oxide silicon transistors) in the usual way and each have a
In each case with a
The control electronics are preferably arranged within the
