Definitions
- the invention relates to a frame for the manufacture of walls from glass blocks according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a frame for the production of walls made of glass bricks, which enables a good edge seal without the use of mortar.
- the U-profiles according to the invention which can be formed as an extruded profile, for example made of aluminum, are supported on any surface, for example on a terrace floor or the edge of a wall opening.
- the distance profile - that of the U-profiles can be of different heights.
- the distance profile is therefore in a set of different heights with predetermined gradations in order to adapt the grid given by the glass blocks to the external dimensions of the wall.
- the distance profiles are in turn preferably extruded profiles and can be, for example, rectangular tubes in cross section.
- the adjacent glass building blocks are supported on the spacer profiles, either directly by the bearing edge strips of the glass building blocks resting on the spacing profile or by means of an interposed laying piece which in turn lies on the spacing profiles with the opposite bearing sections.
- the distance between the U-profiles is such that they form approximately a guide for a flat strip that is guided perpendicularly to it. If, for example, the U-profile is the underside of the frame, the space between the U-profiles accommodates the vertical flat strips which are located within the butt joints.
- the U-profiles can be connected to one another by a crosspiece in order to ensure a more stable support on the ground or on the side edge or on the upper edge of a wall opening.
- the crossbar can also be formed by a rectangular steel tube, by means of which the U-profiles are supported on the ground, for example if the frame is used for a terrace wall.
- the steel tube can have a four-sided design.
- the U-profiles can also be connected to one another by a heat-insulating connecting profile, preferably made of plastic, in order to make it difficult to transfer heat from one U-profile to the other.
- Embodiment of the invention provides that at least one hole is provided in the bottom or in the legs of the U-profiles through which moisture can escape.
- the spacer profiles can be supported above the bottom of the U-profiles by suitable projections or the like, so that corresponding chambers are formed below the spacer profiles, by means of which the air exchange is improved.
- Fig. 1 shows in section a first embodiment of a
- Fig. 2 shows in perspective a section through a second embodiment of a frame according to the
- Fig. 3 shows in perspective a section through a third embodiment of a frame according to the invention.
- Fig. 4 shows in perspective a section through a fourth embodiment of a frame according to the
- the frame profile consists of two U-shaped receptacles 12, each receiving a spacer 10 and a web 16 connecting the receptacles 12 to one another.
- the frame profile is screwed to the surrounding masonry, the recess of which is to be closed with glass blocks, one between the masonry and the frame ⁇ profile remaining space is foamed.
- the legs of the U-shaped receptacles point in Direction of the glass block wall to be created, the clear distance between the outer legs of the two U-shaped receptacles from each other corresponding approximately to the outer dimension of the glass block to be installed.
- the two U-shaped receptacles 12 each take up a spacer strip 10, which serve to compensate, ie close the space that is not closed by the glass blocks.
- spacer strips are provided in the illustrated embodiment with a tongue and groove design, so that the presence of spacer strips of different widths can be achieved by plugging together in each case.
- the clear distance between the two legs of each of the U-shaped receptacles from one another is a few mm larger than the thickness of the spacer strips 10. This makes it possible, on the one hand, to insert the spacer strips at a slightly inclined angle after laying the last row or column of glass blocks. Furthermore, the remaining space allows the insertion of plastic sealing legs to promote thermal insulation.
- the clear distance between the inner legs of the two U-shaped receptacles 12 is selected such that the width of the flat steel 18 or the like running transversely to the extent of the frame profile between two rows or columns of glass building blocks corresponds to the space between the inner legs of the U.
- Shaped receptacles are used to guide the flat steel or the like (it can also be an aluminum strip).
- a sole bank 24, known per se, which is screwed onto the outer leg of a U-shaped receptacle 12 can be seen. This is also provided with a through-hole in order to enable the ventilation of the space between the glass building blocks of the glass building wall created.
- two U-profiles 30, 31 are attached in parallel and at a distance on a steel tube 32 with a rectangular cross section by suitable means.
- the distance between the inner legs of the U-profiles 30, 31 corresponds approximately to the width of a flat strip which is seated in grooves 33 of an installation piece 34.
- the flat, plastic-formed laying piece has on opposite sides bearing sections 35, 36 which rest with the underside on spacer profiles 37, 38 which are formed in the form of rectangular tubes.
- the spacer profiles 37, 38 are inserted into the U-profiles 30, 31.
- the height of the laying piece 34 can be changed by the choice of the height of a spacer profile 37, 38.
- the laying piece 34 in turn supports with the bearing sections 35, 36 glass blocks, one of which is shown at 39 in the end view.
- the glass block has the conventional shape with outer projecting bearing edge sections 40 and 41, respectively, which rest on the bearing sections 35, 36.
- the middle weld 42 of the stone 39 engages in the groove, which is formed by parallel ribs 43 on the side of the laying piece 34 facing the stone 39.
- the legs of the U-profiles 30, 31 have holes, as shown at 44. They are aligned with bores 45 in the spacer profile 37 or 38. Water vapor or water can escape through the bores 34, 35.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 which are the same as parts according to FIG. 2, are also provided with the same reference numerals.
- Fig. 3 one of two U-profiles 54 recognizes 50, 51, which are connected to each other via a plate-shaped "web 52 at the bottom.
- the legs of the U-profiles 50, 51 have on the inside by continuous ribs 53, onto which are supported in cross-section by rectangular spacer tubes 55, 56.
- the height of the profiled tubes 55, 56 is in turn selected according to the outer dimensions of the wall formed by the glass blocks 39 in relation to the predetermined outer dimensions of the U-profiles 50, 51.
- the profile tubes 55, 56 are, as in the embodiment according to Fig. 2, inserted appropriately into the U-profiles 50, 51.
- channels are formed in cross-section which can be used for ventilation , as indicated by the holes 57 and 58 in the leg and in the bottom of the U-profile 50.
- the channels enable a plug connection for a corner connector, which is used for the d he U-profiles 50, 51 is required.
- the U-profiles 50a, 50b are similar to those according to FIG. so the distance profiles 55a, 56b.
- box profiles 60, 61 are molded onto the U-profiles 50a, 50b, some of which run below the U-profiles 50a, 51b and otherwise extend towards one another.
- the channels formed in this way can in turn accommodate corner connectors.
- the box profiles 60, 61 have two dovetail guides which interact with the corresponding dovetail profile of a web 62 made of thermally insulating plastic.
- the web 62 connects the U profiles 50a, 51b to one another, but prevents rapid temperature compensation.
- Below the box profiles 60, 61 there is a connection profile so that additional profiles can be added, as shown for example at 63.
- the plastic profile 63 serves to accommodate an angle profile 64, which sits with one leg in a groove in the plastic profile 63 and rests on the underside of the box profile 61. 3 there are also connection options for additional profiles which are attached below the U-profiles 50, 51 or the web 52. The outer leg of the U-profiles 50a, 51b is pulled down over the bottom of the U-profiles, so that chambers for additional profiles are formed, for example for metal sheets, windows, etc. A so-called sole bench is shown at 65 on the left side.
- a dowel 66 is also indicated in FIG. 4, with which the frame profile shown can be attached to a substrate, for example the reveal of a wall opening.
- the dowel screw 67 extends through openings in the box section 60.
- the arrangement of the spacer profiles 55a, 56b, the laying piece 34 and the glass block 39 is the same as that according to FIGS. 2 and 3.
- the distance between the inner legs of the U-profiles 50a, 51b in turn corresponds to the flat strip which is inserted into the groove 33 of the laying piece 34.

Abstract
A frame makes it possible to fabricate glass brick walls between which are arranged flat strips on which are mounted installation pieces provided with support sections on which are supported sections of the edges of the glass bricks. Two mutually spaced parallel U-shaped sections (12) each include a branch which rests on a bottom. Each U-shaped profile (12) receives a spacer profile (10) on which bear sections of the edges of the adjacent glass bricks (14), possibly by means of installation pieces. The distance between the U-shaped sections corresponds approximately to the width of the flat strips.
