Description

The invention relates to a ski binding according to the preamble of claim 1.

A known ski binding of this type is described in DE-A1-28 25 876. In this ski binding, the ski brake is designed as a one-piece wire brake bracket which has two parallel bearing sections running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the ski. These bearing sections are held by a cover plate which acts as a holding device and which is screwed onto the sole plate. A differently designed ski brake, e.g. one with a pedal and with two independent brake mandrels cannot be used with the known ski binding.

The object of the invention is to eliminate this disadvantage and to provide a ski binding of the type mentioned at the beginning, which enables a ski brake to be fastened in a simple manner with a pedal and with two mutually independent brake arms.

Starting from a ski binding according to the first part (preamble) of claim 1, this object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the second (characterizing) part of this claim. Because only two bearing shells have to be removed from the soleplate during assembly, the ski brake can be removed from the soleplate in the assembled state without being disassembled and replaced by a new one. Fastening by means of a clamping claw eliminates the need for additional screws to hold the upper bearing shells in place.

In itself, the idea of releasably coupling a ski brake to a heel holder is already known, as is shown, for example, by AT-A2-345 136 (FIGS. 3 and 4). In this version, the heel holder and the ski brake are guided on a ski-fixed guide rail. The ski brake carries a pull rod with a hook-shaped end with which it can be coupled to the guide plate for the heel holder.

Another version shows the AT-A2-378 917. In this version, the bearing block of the ski brake carries a U-shaped wire bracket, which can be inserted into the angled base plate of a heel holder and locked against it. The base plate and heel holder can also be adjusted together on this ski-fixed guide rail and locked against it. However, both known versions of ski brakes are not suitable for use in ski bindings with a sole plate.

From DE-A2-30 48 175 a combination of a touring binding and a ski brake is known, in which the ski brake has a bearing part which has receptacles on its outer areas, which are used for releasably holding the ski brake on the pivotable binding part designed as a touring frame and in a locking device is provided on the bearing part, which holds the bearing part in relation to the longitudinal direction of the pivotable binding part on the latter.

However, this version is tied to the use of a touring frame with two legs, each of which has a circular cross section. This combination is therefore not applicable to a sole plate as used in the ski binding according to the invention.

The features of claims 2 and 3 contain advantageous configurations of the two lower and upper bearing halves.

The features of claim 4 prevent the accumulation of snow and dirt on the top the soleplate.

The measure of claim 5 increases the stability of the clamping claw and thus that of the two bearing shells.

Eine besonders einfache Montage der Skibremse gewährleisten die Merkmale des Anspruches 6.The features of claim 6 ensure a particularly simple assembly of the ski brake.

The measures of claims 7 and 8 also point in this direction.

An example embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 is a partially sectioned side view of a ski binding according to the invention with a ski brake. FIG. 2 is a vertical longitudinal central section through a detail from FIG. 1 and FIG. 2a shows the individual elements of this detail in an exploded position. FIG. 3 shows a top view of FIG. 2, the actuation pedal of the ski brake being omitted for the sake of clarity. FIG. 4 is a longitudinal section along the line IV-IV and FIG. 5 is a cross-section along the line V-V in FIG. 3.

In Fig. 1, 1 denotes a ski, on which a ski binding designated in its entirety with 2 is attached. This ski binding 2 has a mounting plate 3 in its rear area and a base plate 4 in its front area. The two plates 3 and 4 are screwed onto the top 1a of the ski 1 by means of screws 7. A pivot pin 5 is attached to the mounting plate 3 and is used for the pivotable mounting of a sole plate 8. At its rear end, this carries an only indicated heel holder 9 and at its front end a likewise indicated front jaw 12. The configuration the toe 12 and the heel holder 9 are not in themselves an object of the invention. For this reason, the special structural design of these binding parts is not dealt with.

An arrangement relating to the essence of the invention of an essentially known ski brake 10 on the sole plate 8 is described in more detail below with reference to the further figures.

In the area of this ski brake 10, the sole plate 8 is U-shaped in cross section. In this case, in the section of the sole plate 8 adjacent to the heel holder 9, flanges 8b directed inward are applied to the two legs 8a of the U. An abutment 8d is arranged on the web 8c of the soleplate 8.

The ski brake 10 has a base plate 10a, in the side walls 10f of which the ends of the transverse axis 13a of an actuating pedal 13 (hereinafter referred to as pedal) are mounted. The upper sides 10b of the side walls 10f rise obliquely from the pivot axis 14a of two brake mandrels 14 to be described in the direction of the transverse axis 13a of the pedal 13. The side walls 10f extend in a region below the flanges 8b of the legs 8a of the sole plate 8. In addition, the underside of the base plate 10a is delimited by two flat surfaces 10a 1 and 10 a 2, which together form an obtuse angle α. The distance between the bottom 10a₁, 10a₂ of the base plate 10a and the top 10b of the side walls 10f is kept substantially constant.

The two brake mandrels 14 are angled several times, the central sections 14a of which form a pivot axis for the two brake mandrels 14 extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the sole plate 8. Each section 14a is accommodated in a bearing which is divided into two halves in a horizontal plane and widens outwards in a funnel shape in a manner known per se. The lower half 8g of each bearing is located in an upwardly open recess 8e in the leg 8a of the sole plate 8. The upper half 10d of each bearing, however, is recessed in an extension extending outward from the base plate 10a, which forms the upper bearing shell 10c and which comes to rest in the recess 8e of the sole plate 8. The extension 10c is provided on the side adjacent to the pivot 5 with a step 10e on which the projection 15d of a clamping claw 15 rests. In the assembled state of the ski brake 10, the tops of the clamping claw 15 and the two lugs 10c lie in one plane.

In the exemplary embodiment shown, the clamping claw 15 is U-shaped in plan view, the web 15a of the U being embedded in a transverse recess 8f in the sole plate 8. In the two legs 15b of the clamping claw 15, holes 15c are recessed, which are aligned with threaded holes 8h in the sole plate 8 and into which fastening screws 16 are inserted, the ends of which are anchored in the threaded holes 8h.

When installing the ski brake 10 in the sole plate 8, the base plate 10a is first inserted in an inclined position from the front into the one of the two flanges 8b, the leg 8a and the web 8c limited recess inserted in the sole plate 8 until the base plate 10a abuts the abutment 8d. At the same time, the base plate 10a is pivoted downward, so that the sections 14a of the two brake mandrels 14 in the lower bearing halves 8g and the two lugs 10c of the base plate 10a come to lie in the two upwardly open recesses 8e in the legs 8a of the sole plate 8 . The free ends of the top sides 10b of the two side walls 10f come to rest on the underside of the flanges 8b of the legs 8a of the sole plate 8. The opposite ends of the top sides 10b, on the other hand, have play with respect to the two flanges 8b. The arranged on the underside of the base plate 10a of the ski brake 10 flat surfaces 10a₁ and 10a₂, which together form an obtuse angle α, facilitate the insertion and pivoting of the base plate 10a. The clamping claw 15 is then inserted into the steps 10e of the ski brake 10 and into the transverse recess 8f of the sole plate 8 and fastened to the sole plate 8 by means of the fastening screws 16.

If this ski brake 10 is to be replaced by another, it is sufficient to loosen the two fastening screws 16, remove the clamping claw 15 and to replace the ski brake 10 with a new one, whereupon the assembly process is repeated in the manner already described.

The invention is not tied to the embodiment shown in the drawing and described above. Rather, they are different The same can be modified without departing from the scope of the invention. For example, the clamping claw does not have to be made in one piece. Rather, two independent claws could be used for both approaches of the base plate of the ski brake.
