Description

The present invention relates to a card for producing a sliver with a reel and a take-off, which removes the carded fibers from the reel and feeds them to a nip formed between at least two rotating rollers, the fiber web emerging from the nip on the upper run of a circumferential cross belt is deposited, which runs in the axial direction of the rollers between the axial ends of the rollers arranged adjacent deflecting rollers and leads the fiber web to one axial end of the rollers. A card of this type is described in German Patent Application 16 85 617 or in the corresponding US Pat. No. 3,481,004.

The use of a cross belt to guide the fibrous web to the one end face of a card, where it is then deflected by about 90 ° at the deflection point of the cross belt and, for example, through a measuring funnel, has proven to be very advantageous in practice.

In order to enable the deflection of the fibrous web by the cross belt, this is often arranged in such a way that it runs in a horizontal plane, but in such a way that the surface of the upper run forms an angle of approximately 30 ° transversely to the running direction.

In the practical implementation of some cards equipped with such a cross belt, especially those where the surface of the upper run is arranged inclined, a stationary guide plate is arranged on the longitudinal side of the upper run facing the customer, the plate, so to speak, the gap between covers the upper run and the adjacent structure or the rollers.

In practice it has been found that fiber packs occur on the edge of the fiber web on the cross belt. These fiber packs can detach and go with the sliver, which has a disadvantageous effect on the subsequent processing of the fibers. Such fiber packages are therefore undesirable.

The object of the present invention is to develop a card of the type mentioned at the outset with simple means such that at least essentially no more fiber packs are produced, so that from this source there are no longer any quality losses in the subsequent yarn production process.

To achieve this object, the invention provides that the cross belt has at least on its longitudinal side facing the drum a shoulder, which is arranged on its outer surface, the fiber web leading.

The invention is therefore based on the knowledge that the guide plate is the actual cause of the fiber packs, because dirt particles collect between the guide plate and the cross belt and because the guide plate represents a standing surface, which is next to the circumferential surface of the guide belt, what eventually leads to the formation of fiber packs.

Furthermore, the invention is based on the knowledge that this twisting will not occur if there is no slippage between the guide surface and the upper run of the cross belt, which can be avoided by forming a shoulder on the outer surface of the cross belt on its longitudinal edge facing the customer . The shoulder therefore always runs around with the cross band and prevents the formation of the unwanted Fiber packets.

The circumferential shoulder, which forms a unitary structure, in particular with the transverse ligament, i.e. a one-piece structure, therefore extends according to the invention over the entire circumference of the endless cross belt.

The design of the cross belt according to the invention can be used both with cards in which the upper run of the cross belt is arranged inclined, and with cards where the surface of the upper run runs in a horizontal plane.

In particular in the case of these designs, but also in the case of inclined designs, it proves to be advantageous if the transverse belt has a second shoulder on its longitudinal side facing away from the drum, which is also arranged on its outer surface which transports the fiber pile and, as before, over the entire circumference of the cross belt and rotates with it. The two shoulders form a kind of circumferential groove with the upper run of the cross belt, which ensures good guidance of the fibrous web when it is transferred to the funnel mentioned.

Particularly preferred developments of the cross belt are specified in the subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, in which:
  • 1 is a schematic side view of a card according to the prior art,
  • 2 a similar side view of a card according to the invention with a transverse band with shoulders,
  • Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a partially cut cross band with a shoulder according to the invention, and
  • Fig. 4 is a schematic representation similar to FIG. 3 of a further embodiment of a cross band with two shoulders according to the invention.

Fig. 1 shows the reel 11 of a card, which rotates in operation in the direction of arrow 12 about an axis of rotation 13. The reel carries a needle set (not shown) in a known manner, carded fibers 14 being carried at the tips of the needles and forming a very fine combed fiber pile. To the right of the drum is the usual pickup, which rotates in the direction of arrow 15 its axis of rotation 16. The customer also carries, in a manner known per se, a needle set (not shown), the needle tips of which take over the fibrous web supplied by the spool 11 and lead to a pile removal roller 17, which can be designed, for example, as a grooved roller and rotates in the direction of arrow 18. Opposite the pile removal roller 18 is a guide roller 19 which runs in the opposite direction. The pile take-off roller 17 and the guide roller 19 guide the fibrous web to a nip between two pinch rollers 21, 22, the roller 21 rotating in the same direction as the pile pick-up roller 17 and the roller 22 rotating in the same direction as the roller 19. Die Rollers 21, 22 are highly polished rolls with two or three grooves, the surfaces of which extend in a helical shape and with such a pitch that each groove has approximately two complete revolutions over the length of the rolls 21, 22.

Both the customer and the pile removal roller 17, the guide roller 19 and the pinch rollers 21, 22 extend over the entire width of the reel. The fiber web 23 emerging from the nip point of the nip rollers 21, 22 is placed on the upper run 24 of a cross belt which runs in the axial direction of the transverse rollers in the drawing in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing into this plane. The cross belt is guided over two deflection rollers 25, which are each arranged adjacent to the axial ends of the rollers and run around respective axes 26. For the sake of illustration, only one deflection roller 25 and its axis 26 can be seen in FIG. 1. The upper run thus runs in a horizontal direction, but inclined in the transverse direction to the horizontal plane. In this way, the fiber web with a total width of the nip of the pinch roller 21, 22 of about 1 m is laterally brought together and guided around the deflection roller at the end of the cross belt in such a way that a fiber band 27 of about 2 to 5 cm in thickness is produced. This tape is fed to a measuring funnel 28 in a manner known per se.

Between the lower pinch roller 21 and the long side of the cross belt facing the reel there is an angled guide plate 29 which is arranged stationary with respect to the card frame. This guide plate, i.e. the guide strip 30, which is arranged adjacent to the cross belt, occasionally leads to the formation of fiber packs, as described in more detail above.

Fig. 2 shows an arrangement which is very similar to the arrangement according to Fig. 1, at least as far as the mutual arrangement of the drum 11, the pickup 10, the take-off roller 17, the guide roller 19 and the pinch rollers 22 is concerned, which is why for the same parts the same reference numerals have been chosen. In this example, too, the cross belt 30 runs around two deflection rollers 25, only one of which can be seen in the drawing.

Man sieht deutlich aus Fig. 2 und 3, daß das Querband 31 mit einer umlaufenden Schulter 32 versehen ist und daß das abgewinkelte Führungsblech 29 nunmehr so angeordnet ist, daß sich der dem Querband zugewandte Streifen 30 parallel zur äußeren Seite der Schulter 32 am oberen Trum des Querbandes liegt und von dieser einen kleinen Abstand aufweist.2 and 3 that the cross band 31 is provided with a circumferential shoulder 32 and that the angled guide plate 29 is now arranged such that the strip 30 facing the cross band is parallel to the outer side of the shoulder 32 on the upper run of the cross belt and is at a small distance from it.

The inner side 33 of the shoulder 32 now takes over the guiding function of the strip 30 of the guide plate 29 according to FIG. 1, but with the difference that it runs with the cross belt, so that the fibers cannot be twisted.

Fig. 4 shows a modified embodiment of the cross belt, which shows a second shoulder 35 which is arranged on the long side of the cross belt facing away from the drum and, like the shoulder 32, rotates with the cross belt. This shoulder also contributes to the fact that no fiber bundles are created. Although fiber bundles are less likely to form on the long side of the cross belt facing away from the drum than on the long side facing the drum, here too there is normally normally a stationary structure which can lead to fiber packs if the fiber web deposited on the cross belt is too wide.

From Fig. 4 it can also be seen that the cross belt and the two shoulders form a kind of groove 36 on the deflecting roller 25, this groove assumes a certain guiding function in the movement of the fibrous web around the deflecting roller 25 and for a gentle transfer to the Funnel 28 (Fig. 1) provides.
