Definitions
- the invention relates to a system with a plurality of self-cashing vending machines or service machines, for example ticket machines within a certain accounting area or parking ticket machines of a parking garage company, each machine having at least one cash register, several interchangeable, preferably self-replenishing coin stores for issuing change and a machine that controls the machine and creates a balance sheet Has computer with power failure-protected read-write memories.
- a system of the type described above is known from DE-PS 27 30 587.
- the machines used for this system are equipped with coin stores, each of which has a differently coded code carrier for its identification.
- the code number assigned once for each coin store appears in the balance of the respective machine, in addition to the identifier of the respective coin store with regard to its type, for example as a coin store for 5 DM coins.
- the disadvantage of the known system is that the complete balance must be available for the necessary assignment of the coin storage to a certain machine of the system, either in printed or in machine-readable form. Additional cross-reference lists could be created which contain the use of the coded coin storage in certain machines. However, the creation of such cross-reference lists would require additional work. In both cases, not only are human errors in the assignment possible, but incorrect assignments can also be manipulated in order to cover up the theft of coins from coin stores. Finally, it is disadvantageous for the manufacturer of such systems that, due to the fixed coding, the coin stores cannot be used for different customers or billing areas, so that great care should be taken when such coded coin stores are returned to the manufacturer's plant for maintenance or repair.
- the invention has for its object to prevent fraudulent manipulations of the operating personnel in a system of the type presumed to be known and to enable clear error detection without the coding of the coin storage making their exchange during maintenance and repair difficult and the creation of cross-reference lists being necessary ;
- human errors in the evaluation of the balance should be excluded in this context.
- each coin store is provided with an electronic memory which is secured against data loss and in which when the coin store is inserted into a machine the coding identifying these machines, for example the machine number, is stored.
- each interchangeable coin store is identified by corresponding control commands from the computer in its electronic memory by the coding of the respective machine when this is inserted in the respective machine and this identification is secured in the electronic memory, each coin store can be used immediately, ie without the aid of the balance sheet Automats or a cross-reference list can be identified, so that, in particular in the case of central billing, it is possible to assign the respective coin store to a particular machine without additional measures. In this way, not only can errors in the particular machine during the checkout or dispensing of certain coin types be specifically determined, but also manipulations can be prevented or assigned to certain operators.
- a limitation of the use of the coin storage due to a fixed, one-time coding is avoided in the embodiment according to the invention, so that each coin storage can be used in any system.
- the production number attached to each coin store during production is retained so that the production and the affiliation to a specific production series can be determined if necessary, for example in the event of complaints or warranties.
- this serial number is meaningless when the coin storage is used in the course of regular billing.
- the proposal according to the invention accordingly has the advantage that the coin stores can be used universally without being restricted to a specific system with a limited accounting area.
- the date and time of insertion and, if applicable, removal of the coin store into or from the machine can be stored in the electronic store of the coin store. This not only simplifies troubleshooting, but in particular the detection of manipulations, which can be clearly assigned to certain operators through the additional information.
- This ticket machine 1 used in a system with a plurality of similar, self-cashing machines is indicated as a cuboid-shaped housing which has an input keyboard 2 for the user, an insertion slot 3 for the different coin types processed by the machine and a display device 4 for the upper part of its front panel amount to be paid.
- the components required for coin processing and for controlling the ticket machine 1 are arranged, of which the main components for understanding the mode of operation are drawn, the function of which will be explained below.
- the coins inserted through the insertion slot 3 arrive first in a coin validator 5, which checks the authenticity of the respective coin. If it is a wrong or a defective coin or a coin that cannot be processed by the ticket machine 1, this coin passes via a coin return channel 6 into an outlet 7 which is arranged in the lower left corner of the ticket machine 1. However, if the coin checked in the coin validator 5 is a real coin to be processed by the machine, it arrives at an intermediate cash desk 8. This intermediate cash desk 8 is provided so that if the payment process is terminated, the user receives back the coins that he received through has inserted the slot 3. For this purpose, the intermediate checkout 8 is connected to the coin return channel 6 via a connecting channel.
- a total of five coin stores 9 are provided below the intermediate cash register 8. As can be seen from the inscription on the drawing, these coin stores 9 are designed to hold coins with a value of 0.50 and 0.10 as well as 1, 2, and 5 DM. These coin stores 9 are preferably self-filling and exchangeable stores which are accordingly removed from the ticket machine 1 at regular intervals and replaced by new coin stores 9.
- a cash register 10 is arranged below the coin store 9, into which the coins deposited by the users arrive as soon as the coin store 9 is filled up. This cash box 10 is also removed at regular intervals and replaced by an empty cash box 10.
- control program 14 can be influenced to a certain extent by an authorized operator. For example, when maintenance or repair of the ticket machine 1 is pending, it is possible to use the control program 14 and the computer 13 to have a balance sheet drawn up. As part of this balance sheet preparation, for example, the coin stores 9 that are not completely filled can be emptied into the cash register 10 and the empty coin stores 9 can be replaced by fully filled ones. Control commands and inputs required here can be entered, for example, via an operator keyboard 15, which is assigned to the control program 14.
- the data required to create the balance are continuously assigned to the computer 13 Read-write memory 16 stored. From this memory, these balance data are fed together with the code for the respective ticket machine 1 via a data line 17 to an electronic memory 18, which is located in the cash register 10, so that when the cash register 10 is changed, the complete balance with the cash register 10 is removed and can be evaluated for billing with respect to the respective ticket machine 1.
- the read / write memory 16 and thus the computer 13 are connected via lines 19 to electronic memories 20 which are arranged on each coin store 9. These electronic memories 20, like the electronic memory 18 of the cash register 10, are secured against data loss, for example buffered by a battery.
- electronic memories 20 like the electronic memory 18 of the cash register 10, are secured against data loss, for example buffered by a battery.
- the coding identifying the ticket vending machine 1 for example the machine number, is automatically stored in the electronic memory 20 of each coin store 9. In this way, after the coin store 9 has been removed, the ticket vending machine can immediately and easily remove the ticket vending machine 1 from which it was last extracted. An assignment of occurring errors or possible manipulations on the part of the operating personnel is thus easily possible.
- the date and time of insertion and, if applicable, removal of the respective coin store 9 from the machine 1 can also be stored in the electronic memories 20 of the coin store 9, thereby eliminating the need for troubleshooting and monitoring against manipulation further simplified.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a system with a plurality of self-cashing vending machines or service machines, for example ticket machines within a certain accounting area or parking ticket machines of a parking garage company, each machine having at least one cash register, several interchangeable, preferably self-replenishing coin stores for issuing change and a machine that controls the machine and creates a balance sheet Has computer with power failure-protected read-write memories.
A system of the type described above is known from DE-PS 27 30 587. The machines used for this system are equipped with coin stores, each of which has a differently coded code carrier for its identification. The code number assigned once for each coin store appears in the balance of the respective machine, in addition to the identifier of the respective coin store with regard to its type, for example as a coin store for 5 DM coins.
With this coding of all coin stores, when the balance is available, it can be determined from which machine the respective coin store comes, so that any defects in the Vending machines can be specifically investigated with regard to the storage of certain coins or thefts by operating personnel.
The disadvantage of the known system is that the complete balance must be available for the necessary assignment of the coin storage to a certain machine of the system, either in printed or in machine-readable form.
The invention has for its object to prevent fraudulent manipulations of the operating personnel in a system of the type presumed to be known and to enable clear error detection without the coding of the coin storage making their exchange during maintenance and repair difficult and the creation of cross-reference lists being necessary ; In addition, human errors in the evaluation of the balance should be excluded in this context.
The solution to this problem by the invention is characterized in that each coin store is provided with an electronic memory which is secured against data loss and in which when the coin store is inserted into a machine the coding identifying these machines, for example the machine number, is stored.
Since in the system according to the invention each interchangeable coin store is identified by corresponding control commands from the computer in its electronic memory by the coding of the respective machine when this is inserted in the respective machine and this identification is secured in the electronic memory, each coin store can be used immediately, ie without the aid of the balance sheet Automats or a cross-reference list can be identified, so that, in particular in the case of central billing, it is possible to assign the respective coin store to a particular machine without additional measures. In this way, not only can errors in the particular machine during the checkout or dispensing of certain coin types be specifically determined, but also manipulations can be prevented or assigned to certain operators. A limitation of the use of the coin storage due to a fixed, one-time coding is avoided in the embodiment according to the invention, so that each coin storage can be used in any system. The production number attached to each coin store during production is retained so that the production and the affiliation to a specific production series can be determined if necessary, for example in the event of complaints or warranties. However, this serial number is meaningless when the coin storage is used in the course of regular billing. In addition to simplifying work when troubleshooting and checking for manipulations the proposal according to the invention accordingly has the advantage that the coin stores can be used universally without being restricted to a specific system with a limited accounting area.
According to a further feature of the invention, in addition to the coding of the respective machine, the date and time of insertion and, if applicable, removal of the coin store into or from the machine can be stored in the electronic store of the coin store. This not only simplifies troubleshooting, but in particular the detection of manipulations, which can be clearly assigned to certain operators through the additional information.
In the drawing, an embodiment of a vending machine or service machine according to the invention is shown schematically using the example of a ticket machine.
This
The coins inserted through the
In the illustrated embodiment, a total of five
If, for example, the user has selected a ticket via the
Assuming that the user throws two
The processes described above are controlled by a
The data required to create the balance are continuously assigned to the
The read / write
In the drawing there is also a control /
