Description

The present invention relates to a sales system with a predetermined number of compartments according to the preamble of claim 1.

Nach erfolgter Wareneingabe in das angezeigte Fach veranlaßt die Recheneinheit die Verriegelung der Tür.DE-OS 39 14 686.3 shows a sales system with a predetermined number of compartments of this type, in which the dealer code of at least one dealer and a predetermined number of account numbers and possibly customer numbers of customers are stored in a memory. To occupy a subject, the dealer gives an identifier that identifies it Dealer code in an input device, whereupon the computing unit of the system reserves a compartment when entering a customer number assigned to a customer. The dealer enters the price of goods to be brought into the assigned compartment into the memory via the computing unit. The computing unit displays on the display device a compartment suitable for receiving goods and causes the door of the compartment displayed to be unlocked. After the goods have been entered into the displayed compartment, the computing unit locks the door.

To collect the goods made available to them, the customer has access by entering their account number and, if applicable, their customer number. The computing unit shows the customer the compartment occupied for him on the display device and unlocks the door of the compartment occupied for the customer. Finally, after the goods have been removed, the computing unit locks the door of the displayed compartment.

A problem with the known sales system is that a customer calls a dealer and orders certain goods, but that in the time between the customer calling the dealer and loading a compartment with the desired goods, all the free compartments are filled by other distributors could take place or that all subjects are already occupied when calling. This would have the consequence that the customer would no longer have a free subject, so that the goods requested could not be offered to him. Another problem is that with the conventional system there is no possibility of preventing the delivery of goods to customers who are unable to pay, since no information about the customer's creditworthiness is available when an order is received.

The object of the present invention is therefore to improve the known sales system in such a way that it is ensured that in the time between the ordering of goods by a customer from a dealer and the time when a compartment is loaded with these goods, not all free compartments other dealers are occupied and that if all free subjects are already occupied when ordering, the dealer is informed that there is no free subject available so that he can inform the customer accordingly.

This object is achieved by a sales system of the type mentioned, which is characterized in that in the characterizing part of claim 1.

A major advantage of the sales system according to the invention is that, on the one hand, it is ensured that a customer can be informed, if necessary, that there is no longer a free compartment for his order, and, on the other hand, it can be ensured that after receiving an order and before loading one Subject not all free subjects are occupied by other dealers. Advantageously, a dealer at the decentralized terminal can receive on-line information about the creditworthiness of a customer who is currently ordering during the sales or ordering process, so that, depending on this information, he can decide whether the sale should be carried out or not. In other words, the present sales system, on the one hand, ensures the merchant's ability to deliver as much as possible and, on the other hand, provides the necessary information for his willingness to deliver. Advantageously, a customer may also receive information at the terminal about the amount of his accrued debt since the last billing process.

Another advantage of the sales system equipped with the decentralized terminals is that so-called "blind bookings" can also be made during the day, during normal sales times, by the dealer or even by the customer himself via the terminals. This means that a customer can make cashless purchases, whereby no subject is occupied during this purchase process, but only the booking is made to the customer account. This is extremely advantageous because with the present system not every purchase leads to debiting, which would cause high booking costs for the customer. Rather, in the present system, the individual purchasing processes carried out via the dealer or customer directly at the terminal recorded in the memory of the computing unit and billed at certain debit intervals, so that the number of bookings is significantly reduced for the customer. This means that cashless payment transactions are not only justifiable for high-value goods, but also for small stone purchases.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims.

The invention and its embodiments are explained in more detail below in connection with the figure.

According to this figure, the present sales system has a compartment unit 1 with compartments 2 and a computing unit 3. Each compartment 2 has a door 4, which can preferably be locked electromagnetically. The computing unit 3 comprises at least one display device 5, for example a screen, a memory 11 and an input device 12 and a keyboard 9.

The compartment unit 1 and the computing unit 3 are located in a room 6, which is shown in the figure with broken lines and has an access door 7 which is also shown with broken lines. Next to the access door 7 there is a terminal 8 into which a customer number assigned to a customer, for example a four-digit number, is opened via a keyboard 8 ' Access door 7 can be entered. In this way, the number of people who have access to room 6 can be limited.

The room is located in a building in which there are preferably several different shops, e.g. a butcher, a bakery, a delicatessen and a drugstore are available, which sell their goods via compartments 2, in particular during the normal closing times.

The distribution of goods via compartments 2 works in the following way. During normal sales hours, a customer orders the goods he wants after naming his name and customer number, which is the identifier for the purchase of goods.

After accepting an order, the dealer assembles the ordered goods and enters them in room 6. By pressing the keys 9 'of a keyboard 9 on the computing unit 3, the dealer now enters various information into the memory 11 of the computing unit 3. This information relates to the customer number, the price of the goods to be stored in a compartment 2 and information identifying the corresponding shop or dealer (dealer code). On the basis of the information stored in the memory 11, the computer of the computing unit 3 determines the detailed from the preferably four-digit customer number Bank account number. The computing unit 3 then designates an empty compartment 2 from the plurality of compartments 2, if no compartment 2 has yet been provided for the corresponding customer or for the customer number assigned to him. This compartment 2 is displayed to the dealer on the screen 5. The computing unit 3 then delivers an unlocking signal to the electromagnetic locking mechanism of the designated compartment 2, so that the door 4 of this compartment 2 can be opened.

In order to be able to carry out the aforementioned operations, the computing unit 3 has the memory 11 already mentioned. This memory 11 stores, for example, up to 10,000 or more customer numbers, as well as the corresponding account numbers and addresses or other relevant data of the persons authorized to purchase. This information is entered into the memory 11 for the first time when customers declare their participation in the system.

To remove the goods made available to him in one or more compartments 2, the customer first gains access to room 6 by entering his customer number into the keyboard 8 'of the terminal 8 in the manner already described above. The customer now expediently leads to the computing unit 3 his check or credit card into the slot of the input device 12. After the account number of the customer has been read into the computing unit 3 or the memory 11 in this way, the screen 5 displayed in which compartment 2 or in which compartments 2 the goods provided are located. At the same time, the amount to be paid is displayed and the corresponding compartment 2 is unlocked so that the customer can remove the goods provided for him. The amount to be paid is stored in the memory 11 together with the account number of the customer and the information identifying the dealer (dealer code). The sales system described so far is known.

In order to avoid cases in this known sales system in which the ordered goods cannot be made available to a customer in a compartment, either because there are no free compartments already when the order is placed or because in the period between the receipt of the telephone order and, for example When a subject is populated, all free compartments 2 are occupied by other dealers, terminals are set up decentrally. For example, a terminal 50-1 is set up in the butcher shop, a terminal 50-2 in the bakery, a terminal 50-3 in the deli and a terminal 50-4 etc. in the drugstore. Each terminal has a keyboard 51-1, 51-2, 51-3, 51-4 etc. Terminal 50-1 is connected via line 52-1, terminal 50-2 via line 52-2, terminal 50-3 via line 52-3 and terminal 50-4 via line 52-4 Computing unit 3 connected in room 6. The terminal 50-1 has a card reader 54-1, the terminal 50-2 one Card reader 54-2, the terminal 50-3 a card reader 54-3 and the terminal 50-4 a card reader 54-4.

In order to prevent all free compartments 2 from being allocated by other dealers between the time an order is accepted and the actual occupancy, so that there is no free compartment 2 available for the order, a dealer accepting the order, for example the butcher, can do so on Terminal 50-1 immediately occupy a free compartment when accepting the order by entering the customer number and the price of the ordered goods on terminal 50-1 on the keyboard 51-1. In the case where there is no free compartment 2, this is displayed to the butcher on a display device 53-1 of the terminal 50-1. In the event of occupancy, the butcher is shown the number of the reserved compartment 2 both at the terminal 50-1 and later on the monitor 5 of the computing unit 3. He therefore does not need to remember this subject number.

In addition, the dealer can be given various information, such as information about the customer's creditworthiness, the booking amount of the day for checking purposes and the remaining capacity in free compartments on the display device 53-1. In an advantageous embodiment, further information is provided from a database. This additional information concerns, for example, a photo or the customer's buying behavior. The dealer can therefore adapt to the customer and promote sales.

An essential function of the terminals 50-1, 50-2, 50-3, 50-4 etc. is also that so-called "blind bookings" can be carried out in direct cash purchases in the shops. A "blind booking" is understood to mean that a customer can also make cashless purchases during the day, whereby no subject is occupied, but the booking is made to the customer account. Since the debits in the present system are only made at larger intervals, this has the advantage that the customer's account is not debited with every purchase, even if it is only a small purchase, as is the case with the systems of the State of the art is the case. In order to carry out a "blind booking", the retailer at terminal 2, for example at terminal 50-2 of the bakery shop, uses the keyboard 51-2 to enter the price of the goods selected by the customer in the bakery shop. The customer or dealer also enters his account number by inserting his check, credit or customer card into the card reader 54-2. In addition, he can enter his customer number on the keyboard 51-2 for security reasons. These data are transmitted via line 52-2 to the memory 11 of the computing unit 3 and processed there in the known manner. Since the goods are not placed in a compartment 2 because the customer takes them with them immediately, either by pressing a key, preferably on the keyboard 51-2 of the terminal 50-2 or by detecting and evaluating the entry of the check, credit or customer card in the card reader 54-2 of the computing unit 3 that no subject is to be occupied. The data transmitted to the computing unit 3 are stored in the known manner. The customer's account will be debited at specified intervals. In other words, the arithmetic unit 3 is used only with regard to the acquisition and the data processing required for the billing, because the blind booking does not carry out the steps relating to the subject allocation, the subject locking and the subject opening.

A terminal is usually available in every shop. In this case, the dealer does not have to enter his dealer code, because the terminal address already identifies the dealer. If, however, two or more retailers share a terminal, for example for cost reasons, each retailer enters his or her retailer code identifying him when placing an order, preferably by inserting a magnetic card into the card reader 54-1, 54-2, 54-3 or 54-4. In order to avoid misuse, the dealer preferably additionally enters a PIN code as a security mechanism via the keyboard 51-1, 51-2, 51-3 or 51-4. A booking is only possible if the dealer has identified himself with the magnetic card and the PIN code at terminal 50-1, 50-2, 50-3 or 50-4.
