Description

The invention relates to a gas-tight protective suit with a chemical oxygen respirator to be worn under the protective suit according to the preamble of claim 1.

In a protective suit with a breathing apparatus of the generic type, it is known that a hose connection element is arranged between a pressure relief valve of a breathing bag of the breathing apparatus and a valve defined in the protective suit, through which an overproduction of oxygen accumulated in the breathing bag can be derived from the protective suit (FR -A-2314735).

The invention is therefore based on the object of ensuring a safe discharge of the excess oxygen from the protective suit to the outside in a chemical oxygen device to be worn under a gas-tight protective suit.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The advantages achieved by the invention are, in particular, that simple means in a chemical oxygen device with a breathing bag and pressure relief valve, this can be worn safely at any time by the wearer of the device under the protective suit without structural changes to the device.

Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the subclaims.

Fig. 1
Fig. 2
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and will be described in more detail below.
It shows:
Fig. 1
a sectional view of a hose connecting element according to the invention between the pressure relief valve of the breathing bag and an exhalation valve of the protective suit, and
Fig. 2
a representation of the wearer with protective suit and chemical oxygen device and the connecting element according to FIG. 1.

As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, a flexible hose connection element 5 is arranged between the pressure relief valve 1 of the breathing bag 2 and an exhalation valve 3 of the protective suit 4, by means of which an overproduction of oxygen accumulated in the breathing bag is blown out of the protective suit into the open air .
The hose connection element 5 consists essentially of a flexible hose part 6, each with fixedly arranged screw connection parts 7 at the free ends, which are provided for captive connection on the one hand to the valve holder 3a of the exhalation valve 3 in the protective suit 4 and on the other hand to a connecting piece 8, which in a Pressure valve 1 comprising elastic cap part 9 is inserted or buttoned. In this way, the hose connecting element 5 with the connecting part 8 is at this end on the pressure relief valve 1 detachably fixed, while it is screwed firmly at the other end to the valve holder 3a of the exhalation valve 3 in the protective suit 4.
The elastic cap valve 9 is in the form of a bellows-type rubber cap 9a. The cap part 9 arranged on the pressure relief valve 1 and on the outside of the breathing bag 2 can be folded because of its bellows-like design, which is also advantageous for the desired tight packing of the chemical oxygen device 12 into a container when the device is stored. The cap part 9 also serves as a protective cap for the pressure relief valve 1.
On the cap part 9, a ring 9b protruding beyond the bellows 9a is formed, the inside diameter of which is designed as a holding bead 9b which engages in a groove 8a in the connecting piece 8 of the hose connecting element 5 which corresponds to the holding bead when the hose connecting element is inserted or buttoned into the cap part 9 becomes. The seal between the cap part 9 and the connecting piece 8 takes place at a point 9d inside the cap part 9, while the retaining bead 9b is fixed by a so-called tight fit in the groove 8a of the connecting piece 8. A secure fit of the connecting piece 8 in the cap part 9 is thereby achieved. The ring 9b is designed as a grip part for inserting or removing the connecting piece 8.
The cap part 9 is fixed on the valve holder 1 a of the pressure relief valve 1 and clamped with it on the fabric edge 2 a of the breathing bag 2. In the event that an excess of oxygen has accumulated in the breathing bag, the pressure relief valve 1 opens by means of a pull chain 10 arranged in the breathing bag 2 and the oxygen blown out of the breathing bag passes in the direction of arrow A via the hose connection element 5 and the exhalation valve 3 outside the protective suit 4 , wherein the exhalation valve is covered by a protective cap 11, which deflects the oxygen flow, for example downwards towards the floor.

In Fig. 2 it can be seen that the device carrier carries the chemical oxygen device 12 in front of the chest under the protective suit 4 and the hose connecting element 5 according to the invention deflects the excess oxygen accumulated in the breathing bag 2 through the protective cap 11 to the outside.
