Definitions

  • the present invention relates to the problem posed by the need to protect residential premises against the introduction of pathogens or infectious germs transported by the soles of
  • 10 FR 2.590.473 consists of a low height container intended to be placed on the ground. and which contains a relatively thick body of spongy material containing a disinfectant liquid. This spongy body is covered with a net which supports brush bristles and which
  • the present invention relates to a disinfection device of the same general type, but which is designed so as to avoid these drawbacks.
  • the present device comprises a surface for receiving the soles to be disinfected, below which an element impregnated with a disinfection liquid is provided, the whole being contained in a tank or the like of
  • the device according to the invention is characterized in that:
  • the tank of this device contains a certain amount of disinfection liquid, and above
  • the level of it is provided with a rigid plate taking support in the bottom of the tank, for example by means of spacers, ribs or the like,
  • the impregnation element consists of a sheet of porous material or the like which is extended above the rigid plate serving as its support, and at least one of the edges of this sheet plunges into the disinfection liquid contained in the tank, a perforated covering element or the like being placed above this impregnation sheet to constitute the surface for receiving the shoes to be disinfected.
  • the impregnation of shoe soles is carried out by simple humidification by friction on the receiving surface already moistened by the disinfection liquid, and not by sudden expulsion of this liquid out of a spongy body of great thickness under the effect of overwriting it.
  • the receiving surface of the soles to be disinfected is somehow isolated from the disinfection liquid which is contained in the bottom of the tank, and this by the rigid plate which serves as a support with the porous impregnation sheet.
  • the present device In a particular embodiment of the present device, it is designed to be able to be installed directly inside a cavity made in the ground, for example a cavity already provided for the installation of a conventional doormat d wiping, or a cavity specially adapted to receive the present device. In this particular embodiment, it is then simply constituted by a rigid plate supporting the impregnation sheet, as well as by the covering element of the assembly. Indeed in such a case the disinfection liquid is placed directly inside the cavity provided in the ground and which then plays the role of a reservoir of disinfection liquid, like the tank existing in the previous embodiment.
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the installation of the disinfection device according to the invention at the location of a door provided at the entrance to a specific room.
  • Figures 2 and 3 are cross-sectional views of this device, respectively along lines II-II and III-III of Figure 1, but on a different scale.
  • Figure 4 is a top plan view of the two rigid plates provided inside the corresponding device.
  • Figure 5 is an end elevational view of these two plates.
  • Figure 6 is a longitudinal sectional view of another embodiment of the disinfection device according to the invention.
  • Figure 7 is a perspective view of a particular part provided in the first embodiment.
  • the present disinfection device comprises a ba rectangular 1 of weak epiasseur which constitutes in a way the body of this one.
  • This tank can be placed flat on the ground or be embedded in a recess made for this purpose in the ground so that its upper surface is flush with it.
  • This tank can advantageously be made by molding in plastic material or in elastomer.
  • the peripheral wall 2 surrounding this tank can be tilted as it appears in Figure 2.
  • the upper edge of this wall has a horizontal flange 3 extending inwardly.
  • Tray 1 contains a certain amount of disinfection liquid 4 capable of ensuring the destruction of pathogens and infectious germs.
  • This liquid can fill at least half the height of tank 1, its maximum level being indicated by the line AB.
  • each of these plates is made of plastic material molded by extrusion and comprises a series of parallel cells 16 which extend in the longitudinal direction.
  • each of these plates carries a series of transverse ribs 7 intended to bear on the bottom of the tank 1 and which extend in the longitudinal direction.
  • these ribs, as well as the cells 16, could just as easily extend in the transverse direction.
  • the height of these ribs 7 is such that the plates 5a and 5b are then located above the level of the line AB.
  • the ribs 7 could be replaced by any other suitable support element, for example studs or other spacer members.
  • the ribs or other organs of one spacer carried by the underside of the plates 5a and 5b could be replaced by projecting studs or other support members provided on the upper face of the bottom 6 of the tray 1.
  • the two plates 5a and 5b are spaced from each other by a distance E (see FIG. 4). However, they are connected to each other by connecting pieces 8, the ends 8a and 8b of which are engaged inside the cells 16 existing in the plates 5a and 5b (see FIG. 4).
  • any other suitable member could be used to attach the two plates 5a and 5b to each other.
  • a thin sheet 9 of a porous material capable of being soaked with the disinfection liquid is covered by a thin sheet 9 of a porous material capable of being soaked with the disinfection liquid.
  • This sheet covers the entire surface of the tray 5a, but at least one of its edges extends beyond and is folded down to plunge inside the disinfection liquid contained in the tray 4.
  • these are the two longitudinal edges 10 of this porous sheet which are folded down and plunge into the interior of the liquid 4.
  • the edges thus folded function as wicks so that by capillarity the whole of the surface of the porous sheet 9 is impregnated with disinfection liquid.
  • the quantity of this impregnation liquid is very limited since the impregnation element is a porous sheet 9 of very small thickness, and not a relatively thick spongy body.
  • the second plate 5b it has no any such impregnation.
  • this plate like the first plate 5a, is covered by a sort of brush mat 11 which covers all of the two plates.
  • This brush mat is constituted by a thin layer 12 of plastic which carries a multitude of bristles 13 of synthetic or vegetable material.
  • the lower layer 12 has a multitude of holes 14 intended to allow the liquid permeating the porous sheet 9 to pass. Thanks to the design of the present device, the part of the mat 11, which covers the first plate 5a, is constantly moistened by capilarity by the disinfection liquid impregnating the porous sheet located below.
  • the part of the carpet 11 which covers the - second plate 5b As for the part of the carpet 11 which covers the - second plate 5b, it remains dry since no porous impregnation sheet is provided below it. Consequently, this part of the carpet 11 can serve as a brush for wiping the shoe soles after their impregnation with the disinfection liquid.
  • Lo heard appropriate indicative indications may be provided on the surface of the carpet 11 to differentiate the two distinct parts thereof.
  • the gap E provided between the two plates 5a and 5b has the function of preventing the part of the mat 11, located above the second plate 5b, from being moistened by the impregnation liquid contained in the porous sheet 9.
  • a transparent cap allowing light
  • the upper lip 3 of the tank is flexible and its lower edge has several notches making it possible to lift it easily.
  • the device according to the invention can be the object
  • the device can be produced so as to constitute only an impregnation surface for the shoe soles, the wiping of the latter then being carried out on another suitable surface, for example on a carpet.
  • the selo device comprises a rigid plate in one piece and the whole of its surface is covered by a porous sheet 9 of which at least one of the edges is folded down to immerse in the disinfection liquid 4 contained inside the tank 1.
  • FIG. 6 represents another embodiment which is designed to be used directly inside a cavity 15 arranged in the ground, for example a cavity already provided for the installation of a conventional doormat or a cavity specially made for installing the device according to the invention.
  • the tray 1 provided in the previous embodiment, is completely eliminated.
  • the device is then simply constituted by the two plates 5a and 5b as well as by the porous impregnation sheet 9 covering the first of these plates and the mat 11 disposed above the assembly.
  • the example shown in FIG. 6 corresponds to the variant in which a single plate 5 is provided instead of two separate plates 5a and 5b.
  • This single plate is covered by a porous sheet 9 extending over its entire surface as well as the upper mat 11.
  • the entire upper surface of the present device serves as surfaces- d 1 impregnation of the soles of shoes, those -then must then be wiped on another suitable surface.
  • the plate 5 After its installation inside the cavity 15, the plate 5 bears directly against the bottom of the latter. thanks to the ribs 7 provided on the underside of this plate. Since the tank is completely removed, the impregnation liquid 4 is poured directly into the cavity 15 which thus serves as a reservoir. Under these conditions, the walls of this cavity can be advantageously covered beforehand with a sealing coating. Of course the filling the cavity 15 must not reach the level of the plate 5 so that the latter is able to play the same role as the plates 5a and 5b of the previous embodiment. Thus the operation of this device is the same as before. Indeed the impregnation of the porous sheet 9 is carried out by simple capillary action d so that at least one of the edges of this sheet immerses the interior of the disinfection liquid contained in the cavity 15.
  • the device according to the invention can be the subject of numerous other embodiments, in particular depending on the cases and applications.
