Description

The present invention relates to a dyeing device for pad printing machines for applying ink to a cliché. In previously known devices, ink is supplied to the cliché via the open bottom of a hollow body, in particular a bowl or the like. The walls of the hollow body are designed as a doctor blade. If the hollow body does not lie firmly on the cliché, it smears and you get only completely inadequate and blurred imprints. To ensure that the hollow body fits tightly To ensure on the plate, the pressing force of the dyeing device on the plate is achieved or increased according to the invention in that one or more magnets are arranged in the hollow body.

The magnets are expediently fastened in pocket-shaped depressions in the hollow body, which protect them from the color medium. Detachable fastenings in the hollow body allow the magnets to be replaced.

In a particularly expedient embodiment of the invention, the hollow body is cuboid and the inner chamber is designed in cross section as an elongated rectangle. The pocket-shaped depressions for the magnets are preferably arranged on the end faces of the cuboid hollow body in order to protect them from any contact with the paint.

When painting over the cliché with the paint bowl, a certain amount of paint is taken up again by the bowl. A scraped amount of paint residue builds up on the outside wall of the bowl. In the event of malfunctions or breaks, there is a risk that the paint will dry, particularly on the walls of the bowl. It is then often necessary to remove dried ink before restarting the press.

To eliminate these difficulties and one To design hollow bodies so that color hardening no longer occurs, the hollow body has at least two downwardly open, self-contained chambers, at least one of which is provided with a paint feed and discharge. By dividing the hollow body into two chambers, there is the possibility of allowing a color exchange to take place in the chamber, which has both a paint feed and a paint drain. This prevents a solidification process in the chamber area.

The chamber system is expediently designed such that an inner chamber is arranged within an outer chamber formed by the walls of the hollow body. This arrangement enables a compact design of the hollow body.

The inner chamber advantageously has the color supply and removal, the outer chamber having at least one color discharge. The inner chamber dyes the cliché and takes up part of the doctored paint. Any remaining amount of ink left on the plate is taken up by the outer chamber.

The arrangement of an ink discharge on the outer chamber makes it possible to derive this residual ink quantity, as a result of which the ink is used economically. According to a further feature of the invention, the chamber walls lying transversely to the direction of movement are designed as squeegees. This results in a double number of squeegee tools and consequently also a cleaner processing of the cliché.

The ink exchange can preferably be achieved in that the ink inlets and outlets of the chambers are connected to an ink reservoir with a circulation pump. The circulation pump causes the paint to circulate continuously between the chambers and the ink reservoir so that it does not dry out. In order to achieve a constant color consistency, the ink reservoir is preferably connected to a container for a color solvent and has a mixing device. This has the advantage that a constant preparation process takes place in the ink reservoir. The container for color solvents is expediently arranged in the ink supply container itself and separated by a wall opposite the part intended for the color in the ink supply container. A separation of the ink reservoir into two areas saves additional containers with lines for the color solvent. The container for solvents advantageously has a ring-shaped base on which a hollow cylinder is arranged as the inner wall, the outer wall of the solvent container being the ink reservoir itself. The design of the container for the color solvent enables the solution vapors to be deposited in the color range of the ink reservoir. The hollow cylinder arranged in the center further allows a shaft or the like to be carried out in order to drive the mixing device and the circulation pump.

The mixing device is preferably a propeller-type agitator formed and is driven by a motor mounted outside the ink reservoir. The agitator mixes the solution vapors with the color medium and also keeps the color in motion. According to a particularly expedient type of the invention, the circulation pump of the ink reservoir is connected to the drive of the mixing device. The color prepared in the agitator area is pressed into the pump area by the agitator. As a result, the pump area underneath is constantly fed with freshly prepared paint. The circulation pump itself supplies the chambers with the fresh paint medium. By connecting the agitator and the circulation pump to a shaft, a common motor can be used.

Preferably, the drying of the paint in the interior of the hollow body can also be prevented in that a stirrer is rotatably driven in the hollow body. The color is continuously circulated by the rotation thereof, which largely prevents drying.

The agitator is preferably arranged on a shaft which is guided outwards through the hollow body cover and is connected there with a drive. This keeps the drive free of paint and prevents it from sticking. According to a further feature of the invention, the drive is designed as a ratchet mechanism, a ratchet wheel being connected to the shaft and the ratchets on a hollow body or cliché in the direction of displacement slidable slide are arranged. The slide is expediently connected to the cliché for opposing displacement. Above all, the slide can be driven by a pneumatic lifting cylinder, which in turn is controlled by the cliché.

In order to be able to change the distance between the agitator and the cliché, according to a further feature of the invention, the shaft has a threaded part on which an adjusting nut which is supported on the outside of the hollow body is arranged. By turning the adjusting nut, the shaft is moved upwards or downwards, an end stop expediently being provided so that the agitator maintains a minimum distance from the cliché in order to prevent the same from smearing.

If a hollow body with an agitator is used, the magnets are expediently arranged in this, the agitator being provided with one or more chambers for the magnets which are open at the bottom. A particularly even pressure is obtained if an annular groove is provided in the agitator, in which an annular magnet is embedded. The agitator is preferably designed as a disc, on the circumference of which one or more blades are arranged. The hollow body is expediently provided with a closable fill opening for refilling paint or thinner.

The paint discharge 9 of the inner chamber 7 and the paint discharge 12 of the outer chamber 6 are designed in the same way as the paint feed 8. The longitudinal walls 4, 5 and 15, 16 of the two chambers 6 and 7 lie in the use position on a cliché, not shown in the drawing, and act as a doctor blade. For this purpose, the free ends of the walls 4, 5, 15, 16 are ground. In the two end walls 2 and 3 of the hollow body 1 there are pocket-shaped depressions 21 and 22, the openings of which also point towards the bottom of the hollow body 1. Magnets, which are not shown in the drawing, are clamped in these by means of screws.

The ink reservoir 23 has a cylindrical shape, the hollow cylinder 24 being closed at the upper end by a cover 25 and the lower end by a base 26. In the lower region of the hollow cylinder 24, a mixing device 27 and a circulating pump 28 underneath are attached. The mixing device 27 and the circulation pump 28 are driven via a shaft 29 in the direction of arrow 30 by a motor, not shown in the drawing. Through an opening 31 in Cover 25, the shaft 29 is guided. The shaft 29 is rotatably supported in a bearing 32 which is arranged in the cover 25.

The free end of the shaft 29 engages in a journal 34, which is attached in the bottom 26 of the ink reservoir 23. A container for solvent 35 is arranged in the upper region of the ink reservoir 23. The container for solvent 35, the base 36 of which has an annular shape and on which a hollow cylinder 37 is arranged as the inner wall, is held in the hollow cylinder 24 of the ink reservoir 23 by means of O-rings 38. Through the channel-like opening of the hollow cylinder 37, the container for solvent 35 is connected directly to the mixing device 27.

Die Umwälzpumpe 28 saugt über die Öffnung 44 das Farbmedium wieder an.The shaft 29 is guided centrally through the channel 39 of the container for solvent 35. In the area of the mixing device 27, a propeller-type agitator 40 is arranged on the shaft 29. The wing surfaces 41 of the propeller-type agitator 40 mix the paint medium, not shown in the drawing, with the solution vapors rising from the container for solvent 35 and then being deposited in the paint container. The circulation pump 28, which is also driven by the shaft 29, is located below the mixing device 27. The bottom 26 of the ink reservoir 23 has an opening 42 which can receive a connection or the like via a thread. In the direction of the arrow 43 it can be seen that the opening 42 in the bottom 26 of the ink reservoir 23, the ink supply 8 of the hollow body 1 is connected via lines, not shown. In the area of the circulation pump 28, a further lateral opening 44 is arranged in the wall of the hollow cylinder 24. In the direction of the arrow 45, the paint discharge 9 of the inner chamber 7 and the paint discharge 12 of the outer chamber 6 are likewise connected via lines (not shown) at the lateral opening 44. The circulation pump 28 sucks in the color medium again through the opening 44.

A constant color exchange takes place via the lines between the chambers 6 and 7 of the hollow body 1 and the ink reservoir 23. The color prepared in the mixing device 27 is pressed into the hollow body by the circulation pump 28. The doctored paint of the chambers 6 and 7 that does not remain on the cliché is then sucked off again by the circulation pump 28 and fed to the mixing device 27 for processing. The agitator 40 of the mixing device 27 in the meantime keeps the ink medium in motion and mixes it with the solution vapors which are deposited in the container for solvent 35 in the area of the mixing device 27.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 4 and 5, the inking and doctoring device is also designed as a bottomless hollow body 51 and lies with its open side 52 on a cliché 53. This can be moved back and forth relative to the hollow body 51 in the direction of the arrow 54. To in the interior 55 of the hollow body 51 To prevent drying of the paint, not shown, an agitator 56 is rotatably mounted on a shaft 57. The shaft 57 is passed through the cover 58 of the hollow body 51 and provided with thread 60 at its upper end 59. An adjusting nut 61 is arranged on the thread 60, which in turn is supported on the hollow body 51 or the bearing bush 62 thereof. By turning the adjusting nut 61, the agitator 56 can be moved up or down, a stop (not shown) ensuring that there is always a minimum distance between the agitator 56 and the cliché 53.

From the upper end of the shaft 57, a pawl gear 63 is arranged, which (FIG. 5) consists of a slide 64 with the pawls 65 and a ratchet wheel 66 connected to the shaft 57. The cliché 53 can be moved back and forth in the direction of the arrow 54 with respect to the hollow body, and the slide 64 can also be moved in the same direction. This is done via a pneumatic lifting cylinder 67, which is controlled by the cliché 53 so that the movements take place in the opposite sense. With each stroke of the cylinder 67, the agitator 56 is rotated by 120 °. This rotation circulates the color, not shown, and prevents it from drying. Instead of the ratchet mechanism 63, an electric motor (not shown) can also be used for the drive, for example.

The agitator 56 is designed as a disk 68 and on the outer circumference provided with several mixing blades 69. In addition, an annular groove 70, which is open toward the cliché 53, is provided, in which an annular magnet 71 is arranged. This serves to press the lower edge 72 of the hollow body 51, which is designed as a doctor blade, evenly onto the cliché 53. A closable filler opening 73 is also arranged in the hollow body 51 for refilling paint or thinner.
