- the electric stepper motor 16 is provided with a fork light barrier 45 which interacts with an arm 46 on the output shaft of the stepper motor 16 in order to then emit a signal when the arm 46 interrupts the light beam from the fork light barrier 45.
- the measuring window signal transmitter 26, the bow needle / flexor contact mel 29, the magnetic field sensor 38 of the sewing material scanner 33, the light receiver 41 of the transmitted light barrier 39 and the fork light barrier 45 are each connected to the electrical control circuit 52 according to FIG. 4 via an electrical line 47 or 48 or 49 or 50 or 51, which consists of commercially available components, for example at least one microprocessor, memories etc., as required to fulfill their various functions, and which is connected via an electrical cable 53 to an operating and display panel 54 or its various components.
- electrical lines 55 to 60 each lead from the control circuit 52 to the stepping motor 16 or to the light transmitter 40 of the transmitted light barrier 39 or to an actuating element (not shown) for a fabric hold-down device likewise not shown and assigned to the fabric flexor 3 or to the drive motor of the main shaft 25 not shown or to a thread cutter drive, not shown, or to an actuator, not shown, for a thread tensioner, also not shown.
- the control circuit 52 can be acted upon with a signal which indicates that the fabric flexor 3 has been moved from the position for inserting the material into the blind stitch sewing machine into the position in which sewing can take place. The movement between these two positions is usually carried out by the operating personnel using a pedal.
- the drive shaft 9 of the fabric flexor 3 is continuously driven by the main shaft 25 via the toothed belt drive 22, 23, 24, the further drive shaft 21 and the offset compensation coupling 20 in order to counter the action of the leaf spring 6 in FIG. 1 to move down so that the fabric flexor 3 thus oscillates in the rhythm of the bow needle vibrations. It can only approach the path of movement of the curved needle 2 as far as specified by the respective rotational position of the eccentric bushing 13 in the machine housing 7. This can be changed by the stepper motor 16 via the toothed belt drive 17, 18, 19, which thus serves to set this minimum material flexion distance and is controlled by the electrical control circuit 52 via the line 55.
- the control circuit 52 allows the stepper motor 16 to run into the reference position b according to FIG. 6, in which the minimum distance of the fabric differs from the adjusted zero distance and the fork light barrier 45 emits the aforementioned signal which is sent to the control circuit 52 via the line 51.
- the stepping motor 16 runs in the opposite direction by a certain number of steps into the starting position c according to FIG. 6, so that the minimum distance of the flexor increases correspondingly and the curved needle 2 cannot touch the flexor 3. If the blind stitch sewing machine is now started by actuating the above-mentioned pedal, then the stepping motor 16 runs one step per measurement window signal A, which is sent to the control circuit 52 via the line 47, with a corresponding reduction in the minimum fabric flexor distance, until the detector 29 is a curved needle / Stoffbeuger contact signal C delivers during a measurement window signal A, as shown in Fig. 6.
- a certain number of steps are then added to the then existing rotational position d of the stepping motor 16 in accordance with such an enlargement of the minimum material flexion distance, as is necessary to take machine and bow needle tolerances into account, and the starting position a thus obtained is stored.
- FIG. 7 The processes involved in the actual setting of the minimum material bend distance in accordance with the respective sewing material 4 are shown in FIG. 7.
- the control circuit 52 is acted upon by the cable 53 with the start signal B 'according to FIG. 7.
- the stepper motor 16 first runs in the reference position b and then in the start position a and during the subsequent sewing by one step per stitch, with a corresponding reduction in the minimum distance from the fabric flexor, until the detector 29 supplies an arc needle / fabric flexor contact signal C during a measurement window signal A.
- the stepper motor 16 then runs in the opposite direction by a number of steps dependent on the output signal of the sewing material scanner 33, so that the minimum material flexion distance increases accordingly. If, during further sewing, an arc needle / fabric flexor contact signal C occurs during a measurement window signal A, then the stepping motor 16 continues to run by a smaller number of steps, which is also dependent on the output signal of the fabric scanner 33, so that the fabric flexor minimum distance also increases accordingly.
- the control circuit 52 is designed in such a way that the stepping motor 16 is no longer actuated if, during further sewing, during a certain number of stitches no bow needle / fabric flexor contact signal C occurs during a measurement window signal A.
- control circuit 52 emits a signal via the line 57 during the adjustment of the fabric bend minimum distance in order to place a greater load on the fabric hold-down device, so that it exerts an increased contact pressure on the fabric 4 between it and the fabric bender 3, which increases the sensitivity of the curved needle / fabric flexor contact detector 29.
- the minimum distance of the fabric bend thus set or the corresponding rotational position d 'of the stepping motor 16 remains stored in the control circuit 52, so that when successively sewing the same material 4, the processes according to FIG. 7 do not need to be repeated each time, but rather this setting of the minimum fabric bend distance with the help the control circuit 52 and the stepping motor 16 can be switched off by actuating the key 62 mentioned.
- Key 64 or a key 65 of the control and display panel 54 can be actuated in order to increase or decrease the respective minimum flexion distance by means of the stepping motor 16.
- the actual minimum distance from the fabric is shown digitally by means of a three-digit LCD display 66 which shows the corresponding number of steps by which the stepper motor 16 has rotated from the reference position b.
- the two-digit LCD display 67 of the operating and display field 54 according to FIG. 4 shows the number of punctures which the curved needle / flexor contact detector 29 detects and which are counted in the control circuit 52.
- the output signal of the magnetic field sensor 38 of the sewing material scanner 33 is only detected in the area of the measurement window signal A appearing for the first time during sewing and is stored in the control circuit 52 in order to use it to calculate the above-mentioned data for setting the minimum fabric flexion distance according to FIG. 7 and the determined sewing material thickness with digits, for example, from 0 to 9 in a single-digit LCD display 68.
- the blind stitch sewing machine can be switched to interval operation, namely by pressing once on a 1: 2 interval and when pressing twice on a 1: 3 interval.
- the third press of the button 69 has the result that the interval operation is switched off again.
- the control circuit 52 which is acted upon appropriately via the cable 53, causes the stepping motor 16 to be adjusted for each interval stitch by a number of steps dependent on the output signal of the sewing material scanner 33, with a corresponding increase in the minimum material flexion distance.
- the control circuit 52 is switched back to normal operation.
- the blind stitch sewing machine can be switched to seam locking mode by pressing a button 70.
- the control circuit 52 acted upon via the cable 53 causes the step motor 16 is adjusted for a certain number of stitches by a number of steps depending on the output signal of the sewing material scanner 33, with a corresponding increase in the minimum distance between the fabric.
- operation of the blind stitch sewing machine with cross seam detection can also be effected by actuating a pushbutton 71, for which purpose the control circuit 52 is acted upon via the cable 53 and switched to a corresponding state.
- the control circuit 52 is acted upon via the cable 53 and switched to a corresponding state.
- the transmitted light barrier 39 emits a cross seam signal
- the drive motor of the main shaft 25 is first activated to reduce the speed, and then the stepper motor 16, so that it is a number of steps dependent on the output signal of the material scanner 33 with a corresponding increase in the Minimum distance of fabric flexion adjusted.
- the control circuit 52 causes the stepping motor 16 to reset itself with a corresponding reduction in the minimum material deflection distance, and then the drive motor of the main shaft 25 starts up again to the original speed.
- the transmitted light barrier 39 is adapted or adjusted to the respective sewing material 4 in that a certain number of stitches is sewn and periodically several "light flashes" for each stitch after a certain period of time from the end A 'of the associated measuring window signal A during the sewing material transport phase from the light transmitter 40 "are transmitted in order to calculate an average value from the corresponding output signals of the light receiver 41 in the control circuit 52. From these average values of all the sewn stitches, a final average value is then determined in the control circuit 52, on the basis of which it can be seen whether or not a transverse seam passes the transmitted light barrier 39 when sewing.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a blind stitch sewing machine with an oscillating driven fabric flexor for arching the sewing material into the circular path of movement of the arch needle, the smallest distance from the path of movement of the arch needle can be adjusted in accordance with the material thickness determined by means of a sewing material scanner.
Such blind stitch sewing machines are known (DEC 25 11 568). The sewing material scanner arranged in the area of the sewing point is connected via a linkage to the fabric flexor, which is driven by an oscillating shaft, in order to adjust the minimum fabric flexor distance according to the thickness of the sewing material located between the needle plate and the sewing material scanner, that is to say the distance up to which the one sewing can oscillate fabric flexors in synchronism with the bow needle to approach the path of the bow needle.
The invention has for its object to provide a blind stitch sewing machine of the type specified, in which the minimum required fabric distance for perfect blind stitches can be set even more precisely, namely taking into account both all essential sewing material properties and all essential needle properties, practically without Any influence on the sewing material by the sewing material scanner.
This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the blind stitch sewing machine according to the invention are specified in the remaining claims.
In blind stitch sewing machines for point-wise sewing of the material to be sewn by means of a predetermined number of stitches when the fabric flexor is at a standstill, it is known to determine its distance from the circular path of the bow needle by means of a cam disk acting as a stop, which can be rotated by means of an electric stepping motor. This is connected to an electrical control circuit with a memory for several different fabric flexor distances from the curved needle movement path during sewing, which can be called up individually by means of a selector connected to the control circuit and operable by hand so that the stepper motor rotates the cam disc accordingly (DE-C 35 19 849).
It is also part of the prior art to provide a warning device in blind stitch sewing machines with an oscillating driven fabric flexor and manual adjustment of its smallest distance from the path of movement of the curved needle, which then emits an acoustic and / or visual alarm signal if the minimum fabric flexor distance is set too low. The warning device has an electrical switch which is closed in this case (GB-A 998 628). Likewise, spring-loaded hold-down devices are known in blind stitch sewing machines, which press the material to be sewn against the oscillating fabric flexor in order to prevent it from being displaced transversely to the sewing direction when the bow needle is inserted (DE-A 30 15 433). Furthermore, transmitted light barriers for sewing machines are known in different configurations, also those for the detection of sewing material edges running transversely to the sewing direction (DE-C 33 23 214 and DE-A 35 19 729). Finally, it is known in blind stitch sewing machines to make the oscillating drive shaft of the fabric flexor hollow and to mount it rotatably on an inner support shaft, which in turn is eccentrically mounted in the machine housing and can be driven to oscillate in order to ensure interval operation and the smallest distance of the fabric flexor from the circular arc Periodically change the path of the bow needle accordingly (DE-C 930 058).

To determine the thickness of the
The
The measuring
When sewing, the
In order to set the minimum distance between the fabric according to the thickness of the
The processes involved in the actual setting of the minimum material bend distance in accordance with the
As can be seen from FIG. 7, the
By pressing a
Likewise, the blind stitch sewing machine can be switched to seam locking mode by pressing a
Finally, operation of the blind stitch sewing machine with cross seam detection can also be effected by actuating a
The transmitted
