Bei dem Rundkammsegment gemäss Fig. 3 und 4 ist in der äusseren Umfangsfläche 2 benachbart zum vorderen Rand 3 und benachbart zu den Seitenrändern 12 der Umfangsfläche 2 je eine Ausnehmung 13 vorgesehen, von der eine radiale Bohrung 14 durch den Grundkörper 1 ausgeht. Die Bohrungen 14 nehmen je eine Schraube (nicht dargestellt) auf, die in die Rundkammwalze R geschraubt wird, um das Rundkammsegment im Bereich des vorderen Randes 3 auf der Rundkammwalze R festzuhalten. Wegen der Ausnehmungen 13 erstreckt sich die vorderste Reihe der Kämmgarnituren 5 nicht über die ganze Breite des Grundkörpers 1. Claims (10)

1. A circular comb segment for fixing on a circular comb roller of a combing machine, comprising a base (1) having an outer peripheral surface (2) extending in the form of a segment of a cylinder from a front edge (3) to a rear edge (4), and having combing needles or clothing (5), characterised in that a free space is provided in the peripheral direction in front of a plane (E) passing through the axis of the cylinder segment shape and through the front edge (3), said free space extending radially from the front edge (3) at least over the major part of the thickness (d) of the base (1) and extending in the direction of the width of the base (1) from the middle (M) of the front edge (3) to both sides over at least the major part of the width of the base (1).
2. A circular comb segment according to Claim 1, characterised in that the free space extends radially from the front edge (3) over at least 10 mm and preferably at least 12 mm.
3. A circular comb segment according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the free space extends radially over the entire thickness (d) of the base (1).
4. A circular comb segment according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the free space extends over at least 80% and preferably at least 90% of the width of the base (1).
5. A circular comb segment according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the free space extends over the entire width of the base (1).
6. A circular comb segment according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that recesses (13) are provided, one each for fixing the base (1) on a circular comb roller in the outer peripheral surface (2) adjacent to the front edge (3) and adjacent to the two side edges (12) of the peripheral surface (2), from which recesses a substantially radial bore (14) extends through the base (1) to receive a fixing screw adapted to be screwed into the circular comb roller (Figs. 3 and 4).
7. A circular comb segment according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that two lugs (15; 15′) are formed on the base (1) in the region of the two ends of the front edge (3) for the purpose of fixing the base (1) on a circular comb roller, each lug having a bore (16) to receive a fixing screw adapted to be screwed into the circular comb roller (Figs. 5 and 6).
8. A circular comb segment according to Claim 7, characterised in that the two lugs (15′) project out of the base (1) towards both sides.
9. A circular comb segment according to Claim 7, characterised in that the two lugs (15) project forwardly out of the base (1) and pass through the said plane (E) but are situated outside the said free space.
10. A circular comb segment according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that for the purpose of fixing the base (1) on a circular comb roller, a groove (20) is provided in a front side surface of the base (1) or a projection (17) is provided on the front side surface, and in that two clamping plates (18; 18′) are provided in the region of the two ends of the front edge (3), each of said clamping plates having a bore (19), to receive a fixing screw adapted to be screwed into the circular comb roller, and a clamping lug (18a; 18a′) engaging in the groove (20) or over the projection (17).
