Description

  • The present invention relates to a section member structure or assembly for making window and door frames in general.
  • As is known, there are commercially available several types of aluminium section members which are used for making window and door frames: more specifically, in order to make these frames, several types of different section members must be used with consequent great problems during the assembling operations.
  • Moreover, known section members for the intended uses have a rather poor assembling flexibility, mainly as it is necessary to replace existing window and door frames, which require to carry out complex fitting operations susceptible to greatly increase the installation costs.
  • Another drawback of known section members is that the assembling of several component elements as well as fittings and the like, such as gaskets, handles, hinges and so on is rather complex and of poor reliability.
  • The document FR-A1-600 242, which seems to be the closest prior art, discloses a section member assembly having substantially the features of the pre-characterizing part of the claim.
  • Accordingly, the task of the present invention is to overcome the drawback thereinabove mentioned, by providing a section member structure or assembly, for making window and door frames, which affords the possibility of easily and quickly making all of the types of required window and door frames, by using a very reduced number of component elements, susceptible to be quickly assembled.
  • Within the scope of the mentioned task, a main object of the present invention is to provide a section member assembly affording the possibility of easily and quickly replacing an existing window or door frame.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide such a section member assembly which is very reliable and safe in operation and which, moreover, can be quickly and easily made starting from easily available materials and elements and which has a competitive making cost.
  • According to one aspect of the present invention, the above task and objects, as well as yet other objects, which will become more apparent hereinafter, are achieved by a combined section member assembly, for making window and door frames, having the features of the characterizing portion of the claim.
  • Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent hereinafter from the following detailed description of a preferred, though not exclusive, embodiment of the invention being illustrated, by way of an indicative but not limitative example, in the accompanying drawings, where:
    • Figures 1 to 6 schematically show several possible embodiments of the fixed frame section members according to the invention, specifically designed for the contingent uses;
    • Figures 7 and 8 show window frame movable frames, in particular of the so-called vasistas type;
    • Figures 9 and 10 show movable frame section members for making door frames;
    • Figures 11 and 12 show movable frame section members, of the bascule type, having a horizontal pivoting axis;
    • Figures 13 to 17 show upright, cross, band and base section members;
    • Figures 18 and 19 schematically show upright section members for making a roll blind single block;
    • Figure 20 shows an intercoupling section member, with different shape section members;
    • Figure 21 shows an auxiliaty section member of substantially H-shape;
    • Figures 22 and 23 show further section members for restraining a plate-like element, in particular a plate-like glass element;
    • Figure 24 shows a further section member for restraining panels;
    • Figure 25 shows a further section member for thread engaging a glass plate;
    • Figure 26 shows a brush type of gasket;
    • Figure 27 shows a glass plate outer gasket member;
    • Figure 28 shows a glass plate inner gasket member;
    • Figure 29 schematically shows a two-wing window frame, made by using the section members illustrated in the preceding Figures;
    • Figure 30 shows a cross-sectional view taken along the line XXX-XXX of Figure 29;
      and
    • Figure 31 shows a further cross-sectional view taken along the line XXXI-XXXI of Figure 29.
  • With reference to the Figures of the accompanying drawings, the section member assembly for making window and door frames in general according to the invention comprises fixed frame section members which, substantially, include a box-like body 1 therefrom at least an abutment leg 2 extends.
  • More specifically, with reference to Figure 1, a fixed frame section member is herein illustrated, indicated overally at the reference number 3, which may be used for making both uprights and cross-members this section member 3 is provided, in addition to the mentioned abutment leg 2, with a coupling leg 4, facing to the opposite side of the abutment leg 2.
  • Moreover, on the box-like body 1, there are provided seats 5 for coupling further section members and gaskets.
  • Figure 2 shows a section member 6, preferably used as a upright section member, which does not include any coupling legs, whereas Figure 3 shows a further section member 7 having a box-like body 1 of greater size than the size of the section member shown in Figure 2.
  • Figure 4 shows a further section member 8 provided, on the opposite side of the abutment leg 2, with a recessed seat 10 made on the box-like body 1.
  • Figure 5 shows a further section member 11 for making a bottom cross member and is provided with a bottom leg 12, arranged oppositedly from the abutment leg 2, as well as, on the opposite side from the bottom leg 12, with a bottom edge 13 ending with a up-turned edge 14, inwardly directed.
  • Figure 6 shows a fixed frame upright section member, indicated overally at the reference number 15, having a leg 16 for coupling to a fixed structure, arranged on the opposite side of the abutment leg 2; moreover, at the mentioned box-like body, there are provided a top seat 17 and a bottom seat 18.
  • Figures 7 to 12 show movable frame section members, including a central box-like body 20 which, on a side, is provided with a seat 21 for receiving a plate-like element such as a panel or a glass plate, and, near said seat 21, there is formed a further seat 22 for coupling with a restraining section member which will be disclosed in a more detailed way hereinafter.
  • In this connection, it should be pointed out that Figures 7 and 8 show movable frame section members for making the so-called vasistas window frames, which section members are provided with an abutment leg 24, arranged on the same side as the leg 25 for coupling the plate-like element; the section member 26 shown in Figure 8, in particular, has its abutment leg 24 arranged on the opposite side of the plate-like restraining leg 25.
  • Figures 9 and 10 respectively show a upright 30 and a cross-member 31 which can be advantageously used for making door movable frames; these section members are substantially analogous to one another, with the difference that they are provided with an abutment leg, indicated at 32, which is simmetrically mutually opposite to the respective abutment leg.
  • Figures 11 and 12 show further section members for making bascule type movable frames, which section members can be mutually coupled to one another.
  • More specifically, Figure 11 show a movable frame section member 35, which is provided with a bottom leg and a top leg, indicated at 36 and 37 respectively, and arranged on the same face of the box-like body, said legs being aligned with respect to one another.
