Abstract

The subject of the invention is a drum screen for conditioning and classifying granular material with an input device at the one end of the drum which rotates about its lying longitudinal axis and an output device for the conditioned material at the other drum end. The output device connects to an annular space which is formed between the drum and annular screen sections which are located one after the other in the longitudinal direction of the drum and concentrically surround the drum. The mesh width of the annular screen sections changes in such a way that the section with the smallest mesh width is the annular screen section nearest to the output device and the section with the largest mesh width is the annular screen section at the greatest distance from the output device, preferably located in the region of the input device. Between every two successive annular screen sections (7a, 7b), a channel-shaped profile (29), with the open side directed outwards, concentrically surrounds the drum (2) at a distance of the width of the annular space. The profile engages with a number of hook- shaped mounting elements (28), distributed over the circumference, over the respective profile flange of the annular screen sections ending at it, the annular screen sections being located with initially still extended hook parts (28b) essentially free of play between two channel profiles spaced in the longitudinal direction of the drum and being held after installation in the installation position with the hooks bent about the free flange ends during installation. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a screening drum according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such screening drums are known (EP-A-0.131.162) and are used, for example, to prepare the material of road surfaces using bitumen or on asphalt and grit of different grain sizes. Coarse grit grit is used to build a support structure, smaller grit grit is used to partially fill the cavities of the support structure and the bitumen penetrating into the remaining cavities is used to bind the other covering components. A generic screening drum can be used to bring the individual components into the correct mixing ratio and, in particular, to prepare them by tempering in the heated mixing drum if the individual components of the road surface are to be applied to the road base at the same time.

The object of the invention is to design a generic device such that the individual ring screen sections can be assigned to the drum in a particularly expedient manner. A "possible as possible" is understood in particular that the ring screen sections can be assembled and disassembled as quickly as possible and with a minimum of tooling, and that the assembled ring screens are reliably assigned to the drum in the assembled state.

The solution to this problem is served, in particular, by the features of patent claim 1, with features that design this solution in an expedient manner being the subject of subclaims.

In a further embodiment of the invention, the preparation of the mixed material is also to be improved, and the solution to this subtask is to arrange the entire drum including the sieves with the longitudinal axis inclined towards the horizontal.

  • Fig. 3 einen Schnitt nach der Linie III - III in Fig. 4,
  • Fig. 4 eine Ansicht in Richtung des Pfeiles C in Fig. 3.
The invention is explained in more detail below, for which reference is made to the accompanying drawings, in which:
  • 1 shows a schematic representation of a mixing drum in a side view, in which this old asphalt is fed in the processing of the road surface material, which is, however, not necessary for the invention,
  • 2 shows a detail from FIG. 1 with more details,
  • 3 shows a section along the line III-III in FIG. 4,
  • 4 is a view in the direction of arrow C in FIG. 3rd

A drum 2 with the longitudinal axis 3 is rotatably mounted about this longitudinal axis in a fixed housing 1. A burner 4, whose longitudinal flame axis coincides with the longitudinal drum axis 3, projects into the drum 2 from the drum end shown on the left in the illustration. The burner can basically be of any type and can be operated with gas or oil. The drum 2 is driven by a motor (not shown) via a gear unit which includes a race 5 surrounding the drum and firmly connected to it. At the lower end, a plurality of so-called hot silos 6 are arranged one after the other in the longitudinal direction of the drum on the housing 1. These hot silos are funnel-shaped containers that are largely insulated from temperature radiation, which receive chips of different particle sizes emerging from the drum 1 mixed with bitumen or asphalt and place them on a conveyor belt for further processing.

In order to be able to classify the material, circular screens 7 are arranged in succession in the longitudinal direction of the drum on the drum 2 such that an annular space 8 exists between the jacket of the drum 2 and the circular screens 7. The circular sieves have different mesh sizes, the circular sieve 7a with the largest mesh size being on the right in the drawing, the circular sieve 7d with the smallest mesh size being on the left end of the drum 2 in the drawing. The annular space 8 communicates with the interior of the drum 2 via openings 9 which are evenly distributed over the drum circumference at the drum end on the left in the drawing.

During operation of the system, different material is now input into the drum 2 at both drum ends via a respective feed device 10 and 11. Via the feed device 10 at the right end of the drum facing away from the burner 4, new material is introduced into the drum in the cold state, in particular chippings of different grain sizes, and this material migrates towards the flame of the burner 4 and is thereby heated to the desired temperature . Waste asphalt is introduced into the drum via the feed device 11 at the end of the burner 4. The mixture of old asphalt and grit passes through the openings 9 into the annular space 8 and from there, classified according to the size of the grit, into the hot silos 6 and can be removed for further processing.

The dust and moisture is discharged through an exhaust stack 19 at the drum end of the feed device.

The central circular sieves 7 are attached to the drum 2 in accordance with the invention as shown in FIGS. 2-4.

Spacer pairs 22, 23 are arranged in the areas on both sides of the plane 21, which essentially determine the gap width between the drum 2 and the circular screens 7. The spacer pairs 22, 23 are evenly distributed over the circumference of the drum 2 while maintaining large distances. Each spacer 22 or 23 is an extruded profile running in the longitudinal direction of the drum with a U-shaped cross-section, the spacers of each pair of spacers following one another with their back 24 facing away from one another and with their radially inner flanges 25, while maintaining a relatively small distance in the circumferential direction of the drum are attached to the drum 2. The length of each spacer (extruded profile) 22 or 23 corresponds approximately to the length of one of the circular screens 7. Between the "one" spacer 22 of a pair of spacers and the "other" spacer 23 of the next pair of spacers in the circumferential direction of the drum 2, a screen support 26 is arranged, which is an extruded profile with a flat cross section, which runs in the circumferential direction of the drum, the contour of which follows and at one end with the "one" and at the other end is firmly connected, in particular welded, to the "other" of the above-mentioned paired spacers which are U-shaped in cross section. The circular sieves rest on the top of these flat sieve supports, which are rectangular in cross section, and on the outer flanges 25a of the spacers 22, 23. In this position, the circular sieves are held at each of their ends with a tension band 27. Each tension band is a spring steel strip which runs in the circumferential direction of the drum 2, and the length of which can be adjusted with a turnbuckle between its two ends so that the respective round screen end is held without play between the associated tension band and the associated sieve support. Evenly distributed over the length of each tensioning band, angular holding means 28 are distributed in the initial state. The horizontal leg 28a of the respective holding means is firmly connected to the tightening strap 27, for example welded. The other leg 28b is directed radially outwards as a flange-like section and can be functionally regarded as part of the ring sieves after the tensioning band 27 has been applied and tightened.

An extruded profile 29, which also extends in the circumferential direction of the drum 2 and also has a U-shaped cross section, is held between two screen supports 26 arranged symmetrically to a plane 21. This extruded profile 29 is firmly connected to the screen supports on its two sides, in particular welded to them.

To install the circular sieves, the spacers 22, 23 are welded to the drum 2, the sieve supports 26 are welded to them, and the extruded profiles 29 are welded to them. The drum 2 prepared in this way is now on both sides of an extruded profile 29 or between two in Drum longitudinal direction successive extruded profiles 29 inserted one of the rotary screens. Then the tensioning band 27 with the holding means 28 is pulled up and down at each end of the respective screen. Thereafter, the radially outwardly directed legs of the holding means 28 rest against the sides of the extruded profiles 29 without any play. The material of the holding means 28 now allows the ends of the radially outwardly directed legs 28a (FIG. 3, left) projecting radially beyond the flanges of the extruded profile 29 to be folded around the upper ends of the flanges of the extruded profiles 29 (FIG. 3, right) and thus the tensioning straps and thus in turn the sieves are reliably fixed in relation to drum 2.

In the described configuration according to the invention, it is possible to install and remove and change the screens in a simple manner and still reliably locate the screens without special aids.

Two further features with which the invention is embodied now serve to improve the operation of a sieve drum mounted in this way.

On the one hand, the sieve drum in its entirety is inclined relative to the horizontal 30 in such a way that there is an angle α of approximately 4 ° between it and the longitudinal drum 3 such that the discharge end is higher than the end of the feed with the feed device 10. This measure favors the Mixing of goods by increasing the length of time the goods stay in the drum and giving the goods a radial movement component.

On the other hand, a multi-start screw 31 is arranged in the annular space between the drum and the screen or the successive screen sections of different mesh sizes. Each of the outlet openings 9 is assigned a channel between two screw flights. This means or results in an equalization the conveying of goods in the annular space, which favors the classification and the discharge of the classified goods into the hot silos 6. Four outlet openings 9 and four screws 31 are preferably provided.

At the ends of the drum, either only one flange of the extruded profile 29 with a U-shaped cross section is used in the manner described, or only half of the right or left of the plane 21 takes the place of the arrangement shown in FIG. 3, depending on whether it is is the left or right end of the drum in FIG. 1.
