Description

The invention relates to an overflow-free color photographic development solution system comprising a refill solution and a ready-to-use ready-to-use color photographic developer solution.

From EP-A-173203 a method is known in which the development of an exposed silver halide recording material is carried out with a dye developer solution to which only so much replenishment solution is added to supplement the used chemicals that no overflow occurs. This method has the advantage over all previously known methods with overflow that no disposal of the overflow, which cannot be discharged into the wastewater for ecological reasons, is necessary.

A disadvantage of the process according to EP-A-173 203 is that the photographic recording material to be developed must contain silver halide with at least 40 mol%, in particular at least 70 mol%, of chloride. Such chlo Silver-rich halides tend to be unstable. For this reason, photographic recording materials for producing colored images have predominantly light-sensitive emulsion layers with silver halide grains, the chloride content of which is less than 40 mol%, in particular less than 30 mol%.

The object of the invention was also to provide a development solution system for such color photographic negative papers in which there is no longer any overflow.

This task is solved with a development solution system consisting of a refill solution and a ready-to-use developer solution supplemented with it, in which both solutions contain known development solution components in certain concentrations.

0 - 20 g Benzylalkohol,
3 - 15 g der Farbentwicklerverbindung der Formel

Figure imgb0001
oder einer entsprechenden Menge von deren Salzen,
0 - 2 g der Farbentwicklerverbindung der Formel
Figure imgb0002
oder einer entsprechenden Menge von deren Salzen,
8 - 35 g PO₄³- Ionen
wenigstens 0,2 g Oxidationsschutzmittel und
2,1 - 4,2 g KBr
The invention therefore relates to a development solution system comprising a refill solution and a ready-to-use developer solution supplemented with it, characterized in that the ready-to-use developer solution contains the following constituents in the amounts stated per 1 aqueous solution and, if appropriate, further customary constituents:
0 - 20 g benzyl alcohol,
3-15 g of the color developer compound of the formula
Figure imgb0001
or a corresponding amount of their salts,
0-2 g of the color developer compound of the formula
Figure imgb0002
or a corresponding amount of their salts,
8 - 35 g PO₄³ ions
at least 0.2 g antioxidant and
2.1 - 4.2 g KBr
and is adjusted to a pH of 10.5 to 12.5, that the regeneration rate is 50 to 120 ml / m², preferably 60 to 100 ml / m² developed material and the refill solution contains the individual components in a concentration that at the specified regeneration rate the developer solution in use always contains the above-mentioned components in the stated amounts.

Als weitere Bestandteile kommen andere Entwicklersubstanzen, optische Aufheller, Gleitmittel, z.B. Polyalkylenglykole, Tenside, Natrium-und Kaliumsulfit, Kalkschutzmittel, Stabilisatoren und und Mittel zur Einstellung des gewünschten pH-Wertes in Frage.Other constituents are other developer substances, optical brighteners, lubricants, for example polyalkylene glycols, surfactants, sodium and potassium sulfite, anti-limescale agents, stabilizers and and agents for adjusting the desired pH.

Suitable antioxidants, which are preferably used in an amount of 0.2 to 4 g, are e.g. Hydroxylamine, diethylhydroxylamine and sulfites.

The developer substance or developer substances are preferably used in an amount (based on free base) such that the weight ratio of developer substance to KBr is <4 and is in particular 1.5 to 3.5.

In particular, only CD 3 and optionally CD 4 are used as developer substances.

The development process EP 2, which is currently used extensively worldwide, is carried out at 33 ° C. and takes 210 seconds. There is a significant overflow of approximately 250 ml / m² of developed paper.

With the development system according to the invention, not only the overflow is completely avoided, but lower development temperatures or shorter development times can optionally be set compared to EP 2.
