Description

The invention relates to a method for producing line cutting knives for cardboard-like sheet material, in particular for food packaging, according to the preamble of claim 1.

From GB-A-1 050 242, cutting objects or razor blades are known in which, in order to avoid adhesion to the cutting surface, to improve and / or to increase the durability of the cutting properties, if necessary by heating, a coating of molybdenum disulfide according to that in the preamble of claim 1 is baked.

Furthermore, from GB-A-1 135 839 a method for coating the cutting surfaces of cutting tools is known, in which a coating material is applied and the tool is guided in a predetermined manner along a stream of superheated gas such that the gas stream only the coating material and the cutting surfaces are heated and the temperature is high enough to achieve a bond between the coating material and the cutting surface.

It is known to produce cutting knives which are bendable, have a sufficient hardness of the cutting edge and, if appropriate, are coated by conventional methods in order to achieve an acceptable service life for such tools. For this purpose, materials, in particular steel, are used which have a constant hardness and thus take account of the requirements. It is also known to only temper the cutting edge by high-frequency hardening in order to increase the service life. The service life of a line cutting knife depends very much on the steel quality of the cutting support, the hardness of the knife edge, the knife or chamfer angle, the quality of regrinding or honing, and, if necessary, the quality of the coating and, not least, the quality of the material to be cut.

These problems and their solutions are known and can be found, for example, in "Paper + Plastic Processor", 1-82, pages 17, 18 and 20 "The knife in the high-speed cutter".

However, it has been shown that the conventional methods of increasing the service life are not sufficient. Since the reuse of waste paper and thus increasingly dust-forming elements contaminate the knives rapidly during the cutting process, such a recycling material is sometimes unsuitable for example in the packaging industry for food. The problem arises particularly when labels or similar stickers are cut, then the adhesive sticks to the cutting edge at least in places and thus considerably reduces the service life of the knife. It would be conceivable to provide quick cleaning with the help of solvents, but this makes the workpiece unusable due to toxins.

Based on this prior art, the object of the invention was to achieve an improvement in the service life of line cutting knives and also to use recycling material which, due to its nature, tends to separate paper dust or contaminates the cutting edge with adhesives. According to the invention, the aim is achieved by the features of claim 1. This also ensures that there is an even coating and a low coefficient of friction and that there is no dust. Due to the low adhesion for adhesives due to a homogeneous coating, the knives have a long service life.

It has proven to be particularly advantageous if the coating thickness is 1 to 5 μm, preferably 3 μm, since particularly good sliding properties result.

It has proven to be advantageous if molybdenum powder with solvent is used as the coating material, since the uniform distribution on the cutting surface is improved.

Fig. 2

The invention will be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment. Show it
Fig. 1
Diagonal cut of a knife part
Fig. 2
Knife package for the coating process according to the invention

Fig. 1 shows in oblique view part of a line cutting knife 1, which is made of a flat steel 2. At the top, for example, a cutting edge 3 is created in the middle of the flat steel 2 by mechanical processing. The coating 4 is carried out on the remaining side surfaces or cutting surfaces away from the cutting edge 3. Molybdenum disulfide, which is applied by spraying at room temperature, is suitable for this. The coating 4 is applied by baking at a temperature of 120 to 150 ° C. and with a baking time of 20 to 40 minutes, preferably 30 minutes. The flat steel 2 is not coated on its lateral surfaces.

Der Sprühnebel legt sich beidseitig der Schneidkanten 3 dann gleichmäßig an, wenn gemäß Pfeil 8 ein gleichmäßiger Vorschub eingerichtet ist.2, the individual cutting knives 1 are combined into a package 5, the remaining cutting edges 3 and the adjoining roof-shaped cutting surfaces being coated 4 by a wide spray nozzle 6 Experienced. The spray mist is applied evenly on both sides of the cutting edges 3 when a uniform feed is set up according to arrow 8.

It is essential that there is a uniform coating. The coating creates a smooth surface, which results in a longer service life because the amount of dust is very low. It is particularly important to mention the fact that adhesive adhesives on the raw material do not adhere to the cutting edge. As tests have shown, an exact cutting edge of the cardboard is also guaranteed over long processing times.
