Description

The present invention applies in the field of interior or exterior architecture and decoration by providing a new type of Venetian blind with specific advantages.

Currently, Venetian blinds generally consist of a metal upper case containing a more or less sophisticated mechanism, intended to transmit to the horizontal slats coupled between them, on the one hand the adjustment of their inclination, and on the other hand the vertical movements of translation allowing the awning to go up and down at any desired height.

The means used to adjust the inclination of the horizontal slats must be fitted with a braking device capable of maintaining the position taken as a function of the lighting desired by the user.

The state of the art can be defined by the following patent: US-A-4,676,292: Rocking system for trim of window glass with blades. A tilting mechanism housing of a Venetian blind has a first surface which bears against the front wall of the heald and a longitudinal groove on the surface opposite to the rear wall of the heald forming a spring plate which is housed under the edge of the rear wall which is directed downwards and which fixes the housing inside the arm. The tilt mechanism has a spur gear that rests on a control axle for common rotation. The spur gear has a smooth peripheral part, along the length of a certain angle, without gear wheels, and a part which has the usual gear teeth on the rest of the gear. An elongated shaft with a worm gear returns to the top of the housing through an opening in the bottom wall of the heddle for continuous engagement with the spur gear.

Although many patents exist on Venetian blinds, we observes that the principle of the device for controlling the inclination of the blades is generally the same, namely that of a reduction obtained by worm, since this simple system has the advantage, because of its large reduction ratio, at the same time ensure locking in the displayed position.

The disadvantage of this device is that it requires the presence of a mechanism which it is necessary to conceal in a case whose aesthetics will always be subject to certain criticisms.

To remedy this drawback, a new Venetian blind was designed without any apparent mechanism, allowing the removal of the upper box, but still offering all the possibilities of the classic Venetian blind.

The principle of the invention is therefore to be able to obtain a progressive, proportional adjustment, without jerks or hard spots, but ensuring the maintenance of the position of the inclination of the blind slats.

This result is obtained thanks to the design of support bearings provided with a braking device associated with end caps which fit together at the ends of a support profile acting as upper casing, said end caps are machined to constitute an orientation pulley as well. an axle provided with a groove used for positioning a braking means.

These end pieces being drilled axially and the bearings laterally to allow the passage of pulling cords ensuring the vertical translation of the blind.

The supporting profile used being of the type usually used in the lower part of traditional Venetian blinds, it was necessary to compensate for the appearance of an arrow, due to the thinness of this profile, by the possible presence of an internal reinforcement. , or by the presence of an intermediate support constituting a simple bearing intended to receive a hollow axis integral with two end pieces which can fit into each of the half lengths of the profile.

In order to be able to use a simple bar that can be made of wood in place of the support profile, always with a view to aesthetic adaptation with certain interiors, a variant of the invention has been designed in which the traditional supports are used and modified to be able to constitute real bearings allowing the orientation of the bar and the blades which are attached to it.

This variant also requires a longitudinal machining of the wooden bar to conceal the pulleys and drawstrings for the blind.

In order to be able to use a support profile or a bar whose diameter would be less than the width of the blind blades, there is an adapter ring allowing the correct winding of the "ladders" used to support the blind blades.

The venetian blind, according to the invention, is of the type containing a mechanism intended to transmit to the horizontal slats coupled between them, on the one hand the adjustment of their inclination and on the other hand the vertical movements of translation allowing the ascent and descent of the blind at all the desired heights characterized in that it comprises support bearings provided with a braking device, associated with end caps fitting at the ends of a support profile acting as an upper casing. Said end pieces are machined to constitute an orientation pulley, as well as an axis provided with a groove used for positioning a braking pin, associated with a spring and a braking screw which acts at the center of said groove. Said conical pin is placed in a tapped hole opposite said groove of the support bearings.

The end piece is constituted by a part of revolution whose central part, forming a grooved pulley, is intended to retain a cord, which acts on the orientation of the slats of the blind. The pulley is secured to a flat whose role is to allow it to fit into the upper hollow section of the blind, a stop serving to bear against the support bearing; the pivot axis ensuring perfect rotation in said support bearing. The braking pin acts in the center of the groove to maintain the entire blind in the position controlled by the action of the user on the cord coupled to the pulley.

The support bearing consists of a part of revolution comprising a base extended by a cylindrical part in which a flat has been machined intended to serve as a counter-stop for the stop.

The support bearing has a hole in which the axis, consisting of two spans, rotates; and another hole in which the braking device is placed, said hole being placed in the axis and at the end of the cylindrical part.

The vertical translation of the blind is ensured by the drilling of the end pieces axially and the drilling of the bearings laterally, which allows the passage of the drawstrings.

The thin profile has internal reinforcement to compensate for the appearance of an arrow.

To compensate for the appearance of an arrow, an intermediate support has been designed constituting a bearing which is intended to receive a hollow axis, integral with two end pieces which can fit into each of the two profile lengths; this double end-piece being made up of two flat parts, located on either side of the axis, the assembly being traversed axially by the hole intended for the passage of the blind lifting cord.

In a variant, the conventional bar used as a traditional support replaces the profile; it is, for this purpose, modified to be able to constitute bearings allowing the orientation of said bar and of the blades which are attached to it, the braking device being integrated by means of the tapped hole opening into the axis of the diameter hole smaller, which is secant in the cylinder constituting the rotation bearing of the upper bar.

The bar has a longitudinal machining to hide the pulleys and drawstrings of the blind.

The adaptation of the profile or the bar in the case where the diameter is less than the width of the blind slats is ensured by an adapter ring allowing the correct winding of the "ladders" which are used to support the blind slats.

The various elements, end caps and support bearings are made of a self-lubricating material of the "NYLON" or "TEFLON" type (registered trademarks), either by molding or by machining.

  • Figure 6: View in longitudinal section of a wooden style bar.

Figure 1 is an elevational view of a nozzle intended to be fitted into a flat profile, it is a part of revolution essentially consisting of a central part (1) forming a grooved pulley intended to receive a cord to act on the orientation of the blind slats.

Indeed, this pulley (1) is integral with a flat (2) whose role is to fit into the upper hollow profile of the blind which supports, thanks to "ladders" in wire, all the blades superimposed on the blind.

A stop (3) is used to bear, without play against the support bearing shown in Figure 2. The pivot axis provides by its bearing surfaces (4) and (5) perfect rotation in the support bearing.

A braking pin, associated with a spring and an adjustment screw as in Figure 5, will act in the center of the groove (6) to maintain the entire blind in the position controlled by the action of the user on the cord coupled to the pulley (1).

Dans le trou (12) taraudé et épaulé, est placé le système de freinage décrit à la figure 5.Figure 2 shows a side view of the support bearing associated with the nozzle described in Figure 1, these two elements being shown on the right side, the elements placed to the left of the carrier profile being similar in all respects. This support bearing also being a part of revolution, it consists of a base (8) extended by a cylindrical part (9), on which a flat part (10) has been machined, intended to serve as a stop against the stop. (3) of Figure 1, as well as a hole (11) in which will rotate the axis consisting of the two bearings (4) and (5), and another hole (12) placed in the axis and at the end of said cylindrical part (9). In the tapped and shouldered hole (12), the braking system described in FIG. 5 is placed.

This double end piece consists of two flat parts (13) and (14) located on either side of an axis (15), the entire part being traversed right through and axially by a hole (16 ) intended for the passage of the blind lifting cord.

Figure 4 is a side view of the central support bearing in which is placed the double end fitting described above in order to constitute an additional support point.

For this, a stud fixed in a wall or a partition takes place in the blind hole (17) machined in the base (18) and extending into the cylindrical body (19) in which was also machined a bearing " U "(20).

All of these elements, described in FIG. 1 in FIG. 4, can advantageously be obtained by molding or machining in self-lubricating materials such as NYLON or TEFLON (registered trademarks).

Figure 5 shows a side view of a support bearing which can be made of wood, which can correspond to the style of decoration of certain interiors and attenuate the overly modern appearance of Venetian blinds while retaining the specific advantages of these blinds.

In order to incorporate the braking system necessary for the correct functioning of the orientation of the blind blades, a tapped hole (21) was made opening into the axis of a second hole (22) of smaller diameter, said hole (22) being secant in the cylinder (23 ) constituting the rotation bearing of the upper bar (24) of the blind (shown in FIG. 6).

Le fonctionnement du système de freinage est obtenu grâce à une vis de réglage (25) poussant sur un ressort (26), celui-ci agissant sur un pion de freinage (27).The operation of the braking system is obtained by means of an adjustment screw (25) pushing on a spring (26), the latter acting on a braking pin (27).

Ce dispositif est le même que celui utilisé dans la figure 2This device is the same as that used in Figure 2

La gorge (29) servant à recevoir le pion de freinage (27) alors que la poulie (30) permet la manoeuvre aisée du cordon de levage passant par l'entaille longitudinale (31).FIG. 6 represents a view in longitudinal section of a bar which may be made of wood, to match the part described in FIG. 5. This bar (24) is provided with a grooved pulley (28). The groove (29) used to receive the brake pin (27) while the pulley (30) allows easy operation of the lifting cord passing through the longitudinal notch (31).
