Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The invention relates to a system for the automatic placement of capsules or sleeves on bottles or other containers according to the preamble of claim 1.

Truncated cone-shaped sleeves made of elastic material are used in the field of the food and pharmaceutical industries, but also in a wide variety of other areas as bottle caps, sealing rings, closure flaps for pots, shrinkable hose packs for wrapping bottles and containers, glasses and lids, and the like. The containers in turn take the frusto-conical elastic cuffs in the corresponding section, e.g. the opening, the neck, the main part, etc.

Stand der TechnikState of the art

A system for the automatic placement of capsules or cuffs on bottles or other containers according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from US-A-2 340 639.

However, this known device and other similar devices have a number of disadvantages:
A disadvantage is, for example, that the known systems of this type are only intended for this purpose Can separate capsules with small bottom from the stack.

Another disadvantage is that the known systems for placing capsules can not successfully remove the individual closure parts from the stack if they are not stored in the stack with a uniform spacing.

The known systems for applying closure elements also have the disadvantage that they cannot easily separate the individual closure elements from the stack if the distance between the elements is not sufficiently large, for example in the range of 8-10 mm. Therefore, in the prior art, a stack of elastic frusto-conical sleeves consists of relatively few elements, so that it is only briefly automated, i.e. can be worked without tracking a new batch. In addition, the insertion of the stack into the singling head requires a long way, as a result of which the throughput that can be achieved per unit of time is limited to relatively low values.

The need to provide a large distance between the individual elements in the stack in known systems has the further disadvantage that the space required for the individual stacks is large compared to the volume of the individual bottle caps, for example. In addition, since the bottle caps are made of a thin material, this disadvantage is twice as heavy in terms of packaging and transportation.

Finally, the requirement to keep the individual elements in stacks at a certain distance from one another in order to enable mechanical placement with the known systems results in a particularly serious one Disadvantage when using truncated cone-shaped sleeves with pronounced conicity, for example for containers with a thickened neck or for easier centering with rapid mechanical attachment: In these cases, the required distance between the individual closure elements does not allow the thin lateral walls support each other from stacked bottle caps; this results in the stacks being flattened even under slight pressure, such as occurs in the lower layers of cartons containing such elements.

Another disadvantage also arises from the fact that in the known systems the individual closure elements in the stack must be kept at a sufficient distance from one another and that it is essential to provide a round fillet or a special storage option which is normally formed in the wall of the frustoconical sleeves, which must lead to a clear and therefore deep marking. It is obvious that a larger development, which may be necessary on the wall, means a considerable amount of material, and on the other hand, the excess material affects the smoothness of the closure on the container.

Darstellung der ErfindungPresentation of the invention

Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Ansprüche 2ff.The invention has for its object to develop a system for the automatic placement of capsules or cuffs on bottles or other containers according to the preamble of claim 1 such that the capsules or cuffs can be automatically supplied with little space and can be separated without damaging the cuff . An inventive solution to this Task is specified in claim 1. Developments of the invention are the subject of claims 2ff.

Beschreibung von AusführungsbeispielenDescription of exemplary embodiments

In the following description of the figures, the same reference numerals are used throughout for the same or similar parts, so that in the description of figures it is possible in part to dispense with the repeated explanation of elements already described.

Fig. 1 shows a device for pulling the individual capsules from a stack. The device has a connecting rod 1 with two or more opposing thickenings or lugs 2, which can be actuated via a vacuum pump and which are adjustable both axially and in height in accordance with the height and diameter of the frustoconical rings or sleeves to be separated or are controllable or regulable. At one end the connecting rod 1 is provided with a forked slide 3.

The connecting rod is shown in the position in which it has traveled the longest distance and caused a recoil of the stack consisting of truncated cone-shaped sleeves with respect to locking hooks 6. The sleeves are stacked on a conveyor belt 5. The stack is moved forward in the infeed area of the carrying or feed belt 22. Small pressing parts 7 (if also referred to as pressing parts) are raised and grippers 8 are opened.

The locking hooks 6 each consist of a wing 4 and a tongue 15, both of which are attached in a T-shape.

According to the invention, the frustoconical sleeves to be mechanically placed are designed such that they have a lateral flange or wall section and are made of plastic, metal or a composite material with a small thickness, so that they are somewhat elastic. This property can be reinforced by corrugating the wall, for example in the form of grooves.

Fig. 2 shows the connecting rod 1 in the same position as in Fig. 1; the stack is also in the recoil position with respect to the locking hooks 6. The small pressing parts (pressing parts) 7 are lowered in such a way that they press the sleeves into an oval shape, so that it becomes possible for the thickenings or shoulders 2 to can attack the inner wall of the first cuff.

Fig. 3 shows the small pressed parts 7 in the raised position; the connecting rod 1 pulls or guides the first oval-shaped sleeve, which lies firmly against the thickened portions between the locking hooks 6 with the edge barely visible outside. The second sleeve with the rest of the stack is moved forward to the locking hooks 6 and is gripped by them. The grippers 8 are in their lower position and enclose the second and subsequent sleeves in the stack. The fact that the various cuffs are inserted one on top of the other and staged one inside the other means that they are firmly held together by the grippers, which increases the elasticity and prevents deformations during the removal of a cuff which has got stuck on the thickenings 2.

From the figure it can clearly be seen that the distance between the openings of the thickenings must be equal to or smaller than the diameter of the small base of the frustoconical cuffs, while the distance between the locking hooks 6 is smaller than the large base of a frustoconical cuff and greater than whose small base must be.

The straps 9 are parallel and their mutual spacing is adjusted according to the small base of the cuffs, the edge of the cuffs being held between the straps themselves. Preferably, during the insertion of the sleeves, the conveyor belts 9 are closed until the connecting rod 1 is completely retracted; the length of the bands depends on the diameter of the sleeves and, above all, on the number of pulling heads; it is possible to work with two or more pulling heads which are actuated by other connecting rods 1 and which together form the end for a single pair of belts 9.

A safe method or procedure for placing the cuffs on the container is to let the container itself grasp the cuffs. For this purpose, an order is required in which the opening of the cuff lies at an angle of approximately 45 ° so that the neck of the container, which is passed on an underlying level, can wind up the cuff itself.

Fig. 8 shows the pair of parallel belts 9, which work in order to pass on the sleeves, which were inserted between them by the connecting rod 1, in steps or cycles, while on oblique axes a pair of half-crossed belts 10 is helical and parallel, whereby these Belts bring the cuffs to the desired direction, namely gradually up to 90 °, while they move the cuffs with them.

The straps 10 are, as the figure shows, connected to two delimiters 11, which form the storage container 12, in which the sleeves are aligned next to one another for ejection. Advantageously, the boundaries 11 consist of a pair of straps with a directed top, which run continuously and, due to their slight sliding friction, hold the cuffs held there under the action of axial thrust. At the exit of the boundaries 11, a reciprocating closure element 13 with a jaw is arranged, which separates the individual cuffs which protrude from the cuffs aligned in the storage container 12, while at the same time retaining the remaining cuffs.

Fig. 9 shows the cuff in the fitting and feeding space 14 at an inclination of 45 ° and the neck of a bottle, which is passed, for example, on a belt running underneath, the moment the cuff is automatically put on or wound up.

Opposite the attachment space 14 and approximately coaxially with the path of the sleeve, the housing 17 is provided with a connection 18 for the connection of an air extractor with the appropriate power in order to generate an air flow directed in the direction of the openings 16 for the automatic depositing and stopping of the sleeve to be applied.

Fig. 11 shows the pair of half-crossed straps 10 which are arranged to rotate the axes of the cuffs by 90 ° and thus translate them from the horizontal to the vertical, in order in this way to insert the cuff into the automatically emptied container or space 14 to put on and feed in the correct orientation, which is placed on the collecting housing 17 and is articulated in this embodiment in such a way that the sleeve can also be fed in containers which have a protruding opening relative to the surface of the container body, as is the case, for example, with one in FIG 13 beer keg shown is the case.

Die hin- und hergehende Bewegung des Verschlußelements 13 erfolgt mit einer Drehung um jeweils rund 180° in der einen und in der anderen Richtung.FIG. 12 shows the closure element 13, which guides the aligned cuffs to the container with the back of the jaw, a cuff already being fed into the mounting space 14 in the cavity of the element 13. The reciprocating movement of the closure element 13 takes place with a rotation of approximately 180 ° in one direction and in the other direction.

In the case of the attached placement and feed container 17, the locking device for the side by side in Container 12 aligned capsule made of a bent plate 20 with sliding contact.

A method and a device for separating the sleeves from the stack and for placing them on containers when viewed from the front will now be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 13. It is provided here that the frustoconical sleeves, which are stacked on top of one another, are pulled off the wall, the stack itself being guided so that the opening of the sleeves to be separated points in the direction of travel.

The stack of sleeves, the opening of which is turned toward the connecting rod 1, is guided forward on the conveyor belts 5. When a certain forward movement is reached, it strikes the carrying and feed belt 22 near the pulling heads and comes to a standstill by abutment against the locking hooks 6.

The belt 22 lies on the stack without compressing it and ensures a rapid reaction in the forward movement; it is short and is only so close to the pulling head that there is a free space for inserting the subsequent stack. The belts 5 and 22 run continuously; the entrainment effect acting on the stack held by the locking hooks 6 does not lead to deformation or damage to the individual elements stored in the stack, since the sliding friction is very low. Nevertheless, a retraction movement of the stack is easily possible when the slide 3 is actuated.

While the edge of the sleeve lies against the locking hook 6 in the bottom of the stack, the pulling head is actuated as follows: The small tongues of the locking hook 6 become approximately in the middle of the distance between the larger and the smaller base of the sleeve, while the small pressing parts 7 and the grippers 8 are at a short distance from the direction of the cylindrical stacking body.

In the case of an embodiment which can advantageously be used in sleeves with a low conicity and thus a small difference in diameter between the larger and smaller bases, the small tongues of the hooks are movable while the grippers 8 are fixed. In this case, the passage is briefly reduced when the hook 6 is open, but there remains a space which is large enough to allow the "8" -shaped edge of the cuff covered by the thickenings to pass through, but on the other hand ensures that the following cuff and thus the rest of the stack released from the recoil position are blocked.

During the separating process, the hooks 6 grip into the edge of the following cuff as soon as the first cuff has been guided past the hook. As soon as a good seal is reached under their area, they close against the grippers 8 and thereby widen the free passage space for the smaller base of the cuff passing through.

The connecting rod 1, which is actuated by the closure element 19, which inserts the cuffs at a right angle between the straps 9, is displaceable with respect to the height of the cuffs and is moved programmably via three or more holding stations or stops.

The connecting rod 1 is brought into a position in the bifurcated slide 3 rests against the edge between the smaller base of the sleeve and the thickenings 2 and penetrates on its inner wall only to such an extent that it hardly protrudes beyond the edge and does not oppose resistance within this wall, provided that it is smaller than the diameter of the smaller base of the cuff.

The pull-off cycle begins with the connecting rod 1 gripping the lowest sleeve in the stack, which is held by the bands 5 and 22 against the locking hooks 6 under axial pressure. This leads to a recoil within the stack 4, which brings it with the edge of the lowermost sleeve from the area of the locking hooks 6 and the grippers 8 and thus to the small pressing parts 7, below and with respect to which the thickenings 2 must be positioned exactly, while between the small pressing parts 7 and the thickenings 2 the edge of the lowest cuff, possibly together with some previous cuffs, is located.

While the connecting rod 1 holds the stack, the pressed parts 7 clamp the edge of the lowermost capsule against the thickenings 2, which are acted upon by vacuum, so that they hold it and form two conoids which give the cuff a shape similar to an "8" . The small pressed parts 7 stand out again and take the edge of the possibly additionally introduced cuffs with them; since they are made of an elastic material, they return to their normal round shape.

If the cuff, the edge of which has been deformed in the shape of an "8" on the larger base, firmly on the thickenings or approaches 2 is present, the connecting rod 1 begins its backward movement, in which it passes between the hooks 6 and may come to a standstill there; it continues to work with the rest of the stack and as soon as it arrives at the locking hook 6, it stops, the edge of the penultimate sleeve striking against the wings 4 of the locking hook 6 and possibly also between the small tongues 16 of said hooks 6 and Grippers 8 gets stuck while the connecting rod, during its further retraction movement, grips the cuff held by the thickenings 2 and in this way pulls it off the rest of the stack. The connecting rod 1 retracts further and introduces the cuff, the edge of which is still oval, between the upper sides of the straps 9, which in the closed position wait until the edge of the base rests on the conveniently positioned limits 21.

Finally, the vacuum acting on the thickenings 2 is switched off. The connecting rod 1 then returns and is completely pulled out of the cavity of the sleeve and comes to a standstill at the end point of its path.

When the cuff is gripped between the tops of the straps 9, they move it further; as soon as they have moved the cuff to the takeover point of the pair of half-crossed straps 10, they close.

The cuff is then quickly removed from the continuously running pair of belts 10, which further transports them at a speed which is greater than the running speed of the previous belts 9; then the cuff is taken along, rotated in the desired direction and brought into the receptacle 12 in which the cuffs are optionally stored next to one another, while the closure element 13 closes the container.

Advantageously, two independently working devices are provided for the method, namely a device for pulling the cuffs off the stack and for feeding them, and a device for picking up, setting down, holding and feeding the individual cuffs to the container.

The mutual independence is based on the fact that the process of pulling off the cuff does not necessarily have to take place simultaneously with the feeding of another cuff to the container, but that the first device can work until the entire container of the second device is completely empty, and that conversely, the latter can empty the entire container with the cuffs placed therein before it is necessary to refill it.

The working rhythm depends on the feed from the containers, each of which brings the cuff from the receiving and mounting area 14 and automatically emits a pulse that triggers the actuation of the reciprocating closure element 13 for separating and continuing the individual cuffs.

This system is placed between the container 12 and the housing 17 and fulfills the double function of fixing the cuffs deposited in the container 12 and taking up the subsequent cuff and feeding them to the placement and feed area 14. This system consists of a thin and durable housing, for example from a thin sheet of stainless steel in the form of a half ring, which has the same surface lines as the circumference of the walls of the sleeve to be supplied in the wider area to be encompassed, which is only a little smaller than half of the sleeve itself. The inner and outer surface of the half ring 20, which forms the closure element 13, is polished and so smooth that it can be easily inserted between two cuffs, wrinkles, pressure points, cracks and the like being avoided.

The spindle 23, which is fixed at the axis point in the middle of the circumference of the jacket wall of the sleeve, part of which is the half-ring 24 of the closure element, can carry out an alternative movement with an angle of rotation of 180 °.

In the ready position, the half-ring 24 of the closure element with the cavity faces the receptacle 12 and comprises the protruding part of a certain number of sleeves, which are also continuously tensioned next to one another under the action of the continuously running belts 10, which prevents their passage.

For the impulse to call up the cuff from the settling area 14, the closure element 13 initiates the work cycle, rotating in the direction of the placement container 14 by 180 °, releasing the enclosed cuff and, at the same time as the top of the half ring 24, the remaining cuffs in the container 12 holds on.

In the aforementioned phase of rotation, the half ring 24 must be inserted between the protruding and the penultimate cuff, the upper side of the curvature being introduced in order to separate the cuffs from one another loosen and then grasp the next protruding cuff in the middle of its recess when rotating in the opposite direction.

The cuff released by the closure element 13 is immediately grasped and guided away from the feed and attachment area 14.

This latter device can be arranged or fastened coaxially with the container 12, while the closure element 13, on the other hand, is movable, e.g. is positioned coaxially with the desired angular position, the lower level for connection to the closure element 13 being missing at a certain point and consequently no carrier being present for the isolated capsule.

Advantageously, the device according to the invention compensates for this discontinuous mode of operation by means of a suction mechanism attached to the housing 17, the housing 17 serving as a collecting container and the placement and supply space 14 being formed therein.

Via the bores 16, the suction mechanism generates an air flow in the direction of this opening, which quickly holds the cuff released by the closure element 13 and conveys it into the interior of the space 14 until the opening of the container below and carried past takes it along.

As soon as the device is installed and connected to the conveyor belt for the containers to be closed, it can be put into operation. The way they work is described below:
First of all, the stack of the sleeves to be put on is placed onto the conveyor belts 5 by hand or with the aid of known mechanical means in such a way that the openings of the sleeves in the stack face the pulling head, to which the stack is guided. On the way there, the stack reaches the carrying and feed belt 22 and is pushed against the locking hook 6 with the edge of the lowermost sleeve.

The belts 5 and 22 run continuously while the stack rests against the stop hook 6 forming a stop without any damage to the sleeves, e.g. Wrinkles, deformations, etc., can occur, whereupon the transport of the stack is turned by the sliding friction exactly in the direction of the teeth with which one cuff engages the other in the stack.

Then the connecting rod 1, which runs vertically between the surface line of the free space between the pair of belts 9, moves towards the bottom of the cuff, touches the small edges with the forked slide 3 and continues to move until a recoil builds up within the stack is, whereupon the stack with the opening of the lowest cuff is pushed over the locking hook 6.

Fig. 2) spannen. At this point, the small pressing parts 7 lower until they tighten the first cuff and the cuffs immediately above it against the thickenings 2 (cf. FIG. 2). In this way, the first cuff and the overlying cuffs, on which the axial thrust acts according to the thickenings placed under vacuum, form two opposing ones conoid-shaped indentations that begin at the opening so that the cuffs take a shape similar to an "8".

As soon as the pressed parts 7 move upwards again, the first sleeve maintains the figure of eight configuration, while the others assume their original round shape again because of the elasticity of their material, as shown in FIG. 4.

In the subsequent work step, the connecting rod 1 begins the retraction movement and takes along the lowest cuff deformed in the form of an “8”. The further it moves into the interior of the locking hook 6, the more it simultaneously separates the sleeve from the rest of the stack, which remains continuously under the influence of the axial feed force of the conveyor belts 5 and 22. The sleeves in the stack return to their original round shape and thus a larger diameter in comparison to the space between the locking hooks 6, whereby the stack is fixed by the locking hooks. In this way, the sleeve firmly connected to the connecting rod 1 easily separates from the rest of the stack and is now passed on between the belts 9 and deposited there.

At the moment the cuff is inserted, the straps 9 are closed and only start to move when the connecting rod 1 has interrupted the vacuum connection to the thickenings and is finally withdrawn, the cuff with the edge against the barriers 21 remains lying.

The cuff's own axis is perpendicular to the axis of the bands 9 which run along a horizontal axis and bring the cuff to the entry point of the turning tapes 10, as shown in FIG. 8. With these belts, the transport of the cuff is continued to the container 12, where the cuff is inclined along the axis set in accordance with the desired angular position.

However, the container 12 is already filled with cuffs lying next to one another, which are then to be individually picked up by the closure element 13, conveyed further and released one after the other, so that the cuff newly introduced into the row, which is still under the tensioning action of the bands 10, of all the preceding cuffs pushes axially forward.

As soon as the cuff is then released by the closure element 13, it is immediately held in place by the intake air that comes from the placement and supply space 14.

Finally, the cuff prepared in the feed and placement area 14 is conveyed directly to the container passed on the belt running beneath it.

In another embodiment of the invention, the cuff is pulled off the stack using the same method, but the device for handling and feeding to the container is designed differently.

The operation of the connecting rod (Fig. 1,2,3,4) is, however, carried out here by a curved swing arm which is articulated and triggered by a rotating actuating element.

As soon as the cuff is removed from the stack, bring this swing arm turns it into a small fork, which initially moves on a parabolic path synchronized with the swing arm and then with back and forth movement in the horizontal direction, synchronized with the container to be encapsulated, which is guided over a screw. The fork is so wide that it can encircle the cuff, while the ends are provided on its flanks with thickenings, with the aid of which the outside of the wall section of the cuff can be held in place using negative pressure. The change in gripping action from the inside thickening of the swing arm to the outside thickening of the fork takes place during the phase of the combined synchronous movement on the parabolic track. The mounting phase of the cuff, which is kept under negative pressure of the thickenings, begins already during the phase of the horizontal, synchronized movement of the fork, which is actuated by the reciprocating movement of an interrupter and the container carried by a screw.

The invention has been described above using an exemplary embodiment; however, a wide variety of modifications are possible within the general inventive concept which can be gathered from the description and the claims. In particular, it is possible to modify the system designed according to the invention and / or the capsules and / or sleeves to adapt to the shape of the containers etc. to be closed in each case. Furthermore, the control of the individual elements of the system according to the invention in the manner described above can easily be carried out by mechanical control elements known per se or by an electronic control which can have, for example, a microcomputer and corresponding sensors.
