Description

The present invention relates to a shell ski boot of the rear entry type, comprising a rigid shell bottom and a two-part upper consisting of a front part and a rear part articulated on the bottom of the shell and on which is mounted a tensioning device working in a vertical plane and acting on at least one traction cable of a closing and / or tightening means by means of a tensioning lever articulated on a support.

Le levier est rabattable vers le bas.LEDERER patent EP 0 113 908 discloses a shoe with rear entry provided with a tensioning lever articulated on a support whose position is adjustable and acting on a single cable exerting a diagonal tightening of the foot. The tensioning lever can be folded up. From the same document, there is also known a tensioning lever mounted on a fixed support and acting on two cables simultaneously tightening the ankle and the instep. The lever can be folded down.

Une chaussure comportant à l'arrière un levier-tendeur agissant sur un câble fermant la tige de la chaussure dans sa partie supérieure est également connue du brevet FR 2 556 189 (US 4 596 080).A shoe comprising at the rear a tensioning lever acting on a cable closing the upper of the shoe in its upper part is also known from patent FR 2,556,189 (US 4,596,080).

Du brevet US 4 539 763 on connaît également une chaussure munie à l'arrière d'un levier rabattable vers le haut et tirant sur un câble serrant le cou-de-pied diagonalement.US Patent 4,539,763 also discloses a shoe provided at the rear with a lever that can be folded up and pulling on a cable tightening the instep diagonally.

In known shoes, the length of cable released when the tensioning lever is opened is determined by the distance between the point of attachment of the cable to the tensioner lever at the hinge pin of this tensioner lever. If this cable length is generally sufficient to tighten and loosen the foot, on the other hand it is insufficient to allow a wide opening of the shoe, when the cable is responsible for closing the upper of the shoe and tightening it. To increase this cable length, it is necessary to move the cable attachment point towards the end of the tensioning lever, which has the effect of eliminating the lever effect of the latter, without counting the drop in significant tension in the cable after the tensioner lever has passed through a point of maximum tension when it is closed. This maximum tension can be particularly difficult to overcome when opening the tensioning lever.

The object of the present invention is to increase the relaxation of the cable to a very great extent without increasing the radius of the point of attachment of the cable of the tensioner lever, and quite the contrary, by using a relatively short radius enabling the best leveraging the tensioner lever.

The shoe according to the invention is characterized in that the support of the tensioning lever is slidably mounted on a ratchet with ratchet teeth on which it is retained by a pawl against the pulling action of the cable connected to the tensioning lever , the pawl being held in engagement with the rack by a spring and having an arm by which it can be moved manually from the rack.

In the closing direction, the pawl of the tensioner lever holder jumps on the ratchet teeth of the rack, allowing the tensioner lever holder to slide along the rack, driving the cable. The support of the tensioner lever stops itself when it encounters a certain resistance of the cable. Then just close the tensioning lever to complete the tightening. Conversely, the user can move the support of the tensioning lever in the other direction by releasing it from the rack by pressing on the arm of the pawl. The construction is particularly advantageous when the tensioning lever is used to close and tighten the upper of the shoe, since in this case a large length of cable can be released, which makes it possible to obtain a wide opening of the shoe.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the tensioning lever acts directly on a cable closing and tightening the upper of the shoe and it is mounted on a rack which itself is sliding, the end opposite to the traction on the rod closing cable is connected to at least one second cable used to tighten the foot. The tightening of the foot requiring only a relatively small displacement of the cable, the withdrawal of the rack, preferably limited by a stop, which is withdrawn from the displacement of the point of attachment of the cable for closing the rod, is without further acceptable.

The shoe will first be described as it appears externally in Figures 1 and 2. It comprises a rigid shell bottom 1 come in one piece with the sole 2 according to a usual design. On this shell bottom 1 is articulated at a point 3 a rod 4 comprising a front part 5 in the form of a gutter in which a rear part 6 fits. The shoe is furthermore equipped with an inner shoe or shoe 7 intended to ensure the comfort of the foot in the shoe. On the back of this shoe, on the rear part 6 of the upper, is mounted a tensioning device 8 acting simultaneously on the upper 4 for its closing and on the foot for its tightening. This device 8 essentially consists of a tensioning lever 9 articulated on a support 10 (fig. 2) in the form of a U-shaped part itself mounted on a rack 11 with ratchet teeth oriented towards the bottom of the shoe. The rack 11 is not attached to the shoe, but it is free vertically, simply guided, at the bottom by a groove 12 and at the top by a bridge 13. Its clearance is however limited at the top by a stop 14 and at the bottom by the end of the groove 12. The support 10 of the lever 9 is retained on the rack 11 by a pawl 15 articulated between the wings of the support 10, the rack 11 therefore passing between the pawl 15 and the base of the support 10. The pawl 15 is provided with an arm 16 making it possible to manually separate it from the rack 11. To the tensioner lever 9 are attached the ends of two cables 17 and 18 passing in two guides 19 and 20 formed on the rear part 6 of the rod and the other ends of which are fixed to the front part 5 of the rod by studs 32 and 33. The rear part 6 of the rod also has rounded shoulders 21 and 22 for guiding the cables 17 and 18. At the lower end of the rack 11 are attached the ends of two cables 23 and 24 tightening the instep and the toe ed.

The closing and tensioning device 8 will be described in more detail with the aid of FIG. 3. The tensioning lever 9 is not articulated directly on the support 10, but by means of a link 25 articulated at the tensioner lever 9 at 26 and at the support 10 by an axis 27. One end of the tensioner lever 9 is moreover provided with an axis 28 which can move in two slots 29 and 30 of the support 10, substantially parallel to the rack 11 The axis 27 also serves as an attachment point for the ends of the cables 17 and 18. It should be noted that the cables 17 and 18 could consist of a single cable crossing the axis 28. The pawl 15 is articulated on the support 10 by means of an axis 31 and a hunting horn spring 56 mounted around this axis 31 keeps the spout of the pawl in engagement with the teeth of the rack 11. In the closed position (figure 3) the pawl 15 is covered by the tensioning lever 9. In the relaxed position (figure 2) and in the open position (figure 4) the pawl 15 and its arm actuation 16 are however discovered.

Before describing the operation of the closing device, the cable routing will be described. That of cables 17 and 18 has already been described.

The cable 23 is provided at the rear with a head 34 by which it is retained in a housing of the rack 11 (Figure 3). It then passes over a rounded part of the rod 9 then enters the bottom of the shell 1 through a hole 35, emerges laterally through a hole 36 to re-enter the interior of the bottom of the shell 1 through a window 37, then passes over a pressure distributor constituted by a plate 38 in the form of a horse saddle, well known per se and used to distribute the pressure of the cable on the instep and the foot. The pressure distributor 38 is fixed at its upper end to an internal stud 57 of the front part 5 of the rod. The cable 23 then emerges from the bottom of the shell 1 through a window 39 (FIG. 4), and its end is anchored laterally on the front part 5 of the rod by a cable head 40 which makes it possible to modify the point of attachment of the cable. relative to the front part 5 of the rod. This device is shown in Figure 8. It comprises a threaded core 41 fixed to the cable 23 and mounted in a threaded tube 42 secured to the head 40, knurled, which bears against a bearing 43 of the rod (Figure 1). The rotation of the head 40 has the effect of displacing the core 41 and consequently of modifying the anchoring point of the cable 23 to the rod.

As for the cable 24, it is also attached by one end to the rack 11 by a cable head 44 in the same manner as the cable 23 (Figure 4). The cable 24 is first of all guided parallel to the cable 23, then it enters the bottom of the shell 1 through a hole 45, passes through a guide 54, then into a return 46 fixed to the wall of the bottom of the shell 1, then on the pressure distributor 38. It then passes over a second deflection 47 (FIG. 3) fixed to the opposite wall of the bottom of the shell 1 to then pass over again on the pressure distributor 38, its end being finally attached to a cable head 48 analogous to the cable head 40 and bearing on the bottom of the shell 1. The cable routing is particularly clearly visible in FIG. 5. The cable head 48 also includes a threaded tube 49 in which is mounted to the threaded core 50 secured of the cable 24. The tube 49 can be rotated by a handle 51 articulated on the head 48 and foldable in a housing formed in an additional thickness of the bottom of the shell 1.

It consists of a folded sheet metal end fixed to the bottom of the shell 1 by a rivet 52.

The reference 47 is shown in section in FIG. 9. It consists of a plate fixed to the bottom of the shell 1 by a rivet 53 and having a semi-circular bearing for guiding the cable 24.

The guide 54 is shown in Figure 7 which is a sectional view of the articulation of the rod on the bottom of the shell at the location of the passage of the cable 24. The guide 54 is formed by a groove made in the thickness from the bottom of the shell 1 and closed by a washer 55.

The device 8 therefore simultaneously ensures the closing of the shoe and the tightening of the foot. The operation of the device will be described starting from FIG. 4 which represents the shoe in the open position. In this position, the support 10 of the tensioning lever 9 and in the upper part of the rack 11. The tensioning lever 9 is open and its axis 28 to which the cables 17 and 18 are attached is in abutment against the upper ends of the lights 29 and 30. In this position, the cables 17 and 18 are loosened as much as possible, which makes it possible to open the boot widely by tilting the rear part of the upper 6 backwards. The rack 11 is not stressed and cables 23 and 24 are also released. To close the boot, the skier raises the tensioner lever 9, which has the effect of pulling on the cables 17 and 18 and closing the upper of the boot. When the tensioning lever 9 reaches an oblique position, upwards, an axial thrust on the lever 9 has the effect of driving the support 10 along the rack 11, the pawl 15 jumping on the teeth of this rack. When the tension on the cables reaches a value such that it is no longer possible to push on the support 10, it only remains to completely fold the lever 9 against the shoe to tension all the cables, the tension on the cables 23 and 24 being provided by the traction on the rack exerted by the reaction on cables 17 and 18. The force with which the rod is tightened is generally greater than that with which the foot is clamped. This is why the movement of the rack 11, and consequently the tension on the cables 23 and 24, is limited by the stop 14. The clamping of the foot is particularly effective due to the fact that the cables 23 and 24 exert pressure on the pressure distributor 38 in three different places.

If the skier wishes to loosen his shoe without however taking off his shoes, he just has to open the tensioning lever 9 as shown in FIG. 2. In this position, all the cables are released but the support 10 is not moved on the rack 11, so that the tension setting is retained. It will be sufficient for the skier to close the lever 9 to find the previous skiing conditions.

To remove the shoes, the user only has to press on the arm 16 of the pawl 15 to release it from the rack 11 and simultaneously pull the lever 9 upwards to drive the support 10 upwards of the rack 11, to find the position shown in Figure 4.

The execution shown is particularly advantageous for at least two reasons. First of all, given that the tensioning lever 9 closes upwards, in the position of maximum tightening, it only very slightly exceeds the rack 11, allowing without other to respect the international standards relating to the space which must be left free above the heel. On the other hand, the cables 17 and 18 being attached to the point of rotation of the tensioning lever 9 on its support 10, the tension on the cables increases continuously until the complete closing of the tensioning lever 9, which does not would not be the case if a simple lever were used, without the link 25 and a point of attachment of the cable 17 and 18 to the tensioning lever located between its hinge pin and its end.

According to a variant not shown and obvious, it would of course be possible to use a tensioning lever with a single hinge pin on its support and close mant from top to bottom. In an even more simplified embodiment, without clamping the foot, the rack 11 could be fixed. In this case, however, there would already be the advantage of a sliding lever-tensioner support ensuring great relaxation of the cables 17 and 18 while having a small radius of gyration of the attachment points of the cables of the tensioner lever, it i.e. optimal use of the leverage of the tensioner lever.

The rack 11 can be without other made of synthetic material.
