- the invention has been implemented for the packaging of ACR copper tube crowns, with an outside diameter of the order of 5 to 25 mm, a unit length of the order of 500 to 2000 meters, with a weight between 50 and 150 kg.
- the discs have a diameter D of the order of 950 to 1100 mm, and a diameter d of the order of 550 to 650 mm, which adapt to cut crowns, from 20 to 35 cm. height.
- This type of reel, assembled at the time of use, from initially flat corrugated cardboard discs - therefore space-saving to store - has the following advantages: - removal of the fixed height inner hub - adaptable to any crown height in a large range of around 15 cm - adaptable to a wide variety of long, plastic, metallic or mixed products (electrical wires and cables for example). - accepts crowns with faces having a very approximate parallelism - good contact between the flanges and the faces of the crown, which ensures good flatness in storage and reduces the risk of "tangling" (tangling during unwinding). - significantly reduces the cost of transporting cardboard to the factory.

Abstract
Description
The object of the invention is a reel made of corrugated cardboard intended for the transport and the unwinding of products wound in cut crowns, such as copper or aluminum tubes, or plastics, this reel being adaptable, at the time of packaging, at the height of the crown.
A certain number of long products are, at the end of production, wound in cut crowns, containing a predetermined length (or weight or volume) of said product. It is then a question of packing this crown and of immobilizing the turns thereof, with a view to its transport, and, possibly, of facilitating its unfolding at the time of the final use.
This is the case, for example, of small diameter copper tubes (known as "ACR" tubes) coming out of drawing machines (for example ROTUBLOCS), forming crowns whose unit length can reach 1000 to 2000 meters, the external diameter of the tube being of the order of ten millimeters.
The use of reels, in wood or metal, is not always very practical, because they have fixed dimensions, which cannot be modified, and their value often forces them to manage a system of deposit and return of empty reels which weighs down the overhead.
It would therefore be interesting to have a light, low-cost reel (therefore lost, without deposit or return) and dimensions that can be immediately adapted, at least to some extent, to the size of the crowns to be packaged, this reel can also be used to unroll the product during final use.
The present invention solves this problem.
It is characterized in that the reel, assembled, at the time of use, (that is to say of the packaging of the long product crown) is constituted by two
- Figure 1 shows, in top view (upper part), the cut corrugated cardboard disc, before lifting the tabs, intended to form the central hub, and in CC section (lower part), the disc after lifting (folding at 90 °) tabs.
- FIG. 2 represents, in perspective, the two elements A and B, intended to form the reel, before their installation.
- FIG. 3 represents, in perspective, a cut crown of long tubular product, wound on a reel according to the invention.
The starting point consists on the one hand of two
Each
The instructions are as follows:

We tilt the whole 180 °, and we engage the
Two straps 12 made of steel strip or of plastic tape possibly reinforced with fibers, ensure the connection of the two flanges and the cohesion of the assembly which then appears as in FIG. 3.
This implementation of the invention may undergo a few variants:

The choice of qualities of corrugated cardboard also depends on the packaged products which can range from plastic tube to copper tube or aluminum wire rod or electrical wire and cable, to name a few.
The invention has been implemented for the packaging of ACR copper tube crowns, with an outside diameter of the order of 5 to 25 mm, a unit length of the order of 500 to 2000 meters, with a weight between 50 and 150 kg.
For this type of crown, the discs have a diameter D of the order of 950 to 1100 mm, and a diameter d of the order of 550 to 650 mm, which adapt to cut crowns, from 20 to 35 cm. height.
This type of reel, assembled at the time of use, from initially flat corrugated cardboard discs - therefore space-saving to store - has the following advantages:
- removal of the fixed height inner hub
- adaptable to any crown height in a large range of around 15 cm
- adaptable to a wide variety of long, plastic, metallic or mixed products (electrical wires and cables for example).
- accepts crowns with faces having a very approximate parallelism
- good contact between the flanges and the faces of the crown, which ensures good flatness in storage and reduces the risk of "tangling" (tangling during unwinding).
