Claims (2)

Centrifugal separator having sealing means provided for rotation on the fixed upper head, of the type comprising a rotating body inside which the liquid to be treated is introduced whilst the phases separated by difference in densities rise inside concentric annular conduits, characterised in that the sealing means which ensure separation of the different liquid phases are constituted by rings (8, 13, 14, 17), movable in relation to the fixed parts of the machine, and adapted to move axially under the effect of the very pressure of the liquid acting on the movable rings, whereby the ring (8) acts on the tube defining the central conduit (1), the rings (13-14) on a central coaxial tube (4), and the ring (17) on the outer tube defining the exit opening (5), so as to come into contact with rings (6, 11, 19), fixed in relation to the rotating parts of the machine, thereby ensuring the seal between the conduit (1) for the entry of the liquid to be treated and the conduits (4, 5) for the exit of the liquids separated by centrifugal force.
  2. Centrifugal separator according to claim 1, characterised in that the cooling of the sealing rings is brought about by the liquids treated in the machine.
