Beim Abziehen des Stranges mit einer die Strangbildung nicht beeinflussenden, den Strang gestreckt haltenden, geregelten Zugkraft wird erfindungsgemäß so verfahren, daß einer dem Querschnitt und dem Fließverhalten in der Matrize angepaßten Zugkraft (Abziehkraft) eine proportional zur ausgepreßten Stranglänge zunehmende, das Längeneinheitsgewicht und den Reibwert zwischen Strang und Auslauftisch berücksichtigende Zugkraft (Abschleppkraft) überlagert wird. Der Greifer 27 ist gegenüber dem Rahmen 21 des Ausziehwagens 12 über Druckmeßdosen 31 in Ausziehrichtung abgefangen, so daß über die Druckmeßdosen 31 die vom Greifer 27 auf das auszuziehende Profil ausgeübte Zugkraft gemessen wird. Eine Kolben-Zylinder-Einheit 32 ist vorgesehen, um die Lamellen 30 zum Freigeben des Stranges ausschwenken zu können. Das Verfahren des Ausziehwagens 12 entlang der Schienen 20 und 24 erfolgt über einen Seilzug, bestehend aus einem Zugseil 33 und einem Spill bzw. einer Winde 34, der bzw. die von einem drehzahl- und drehmoment-regelbaren Gleichstrommotor 35 angetrieben ist. daß einer dem Querschnitt und dem Fließverhalten in der Matrize angepaßten Zugkraft (Abziehkraft) eine proportional zur ausgepreßten Stranglänge zunehmende, das Längeneinheitsgewicht und den Reibungsbeiwert zwischen Strang und Auslauftisch (11) berücksichtigende Zugkraft (Abschleppkraft) überlagert wird.
