Abstract

The tapered tip of the ski is extend by an added deflector which has a dissymmetric downstream approximately horizontal part.

Description

The present invention relates to an elongated tip track ski, this ski being more particularly intended for competition, and especially for slalom races.

During a slalom race, the skier is led to cross gates each delimited by two stakes. During a bad door passage, he risks straddling one of the two stakes and consequently injuring himself. In order to increase the safety of the skier while giving him more chances of crossing the doors of the slalom, it is known to add, on the point end of the ski tip, an asymmetrical curved piece which extends this tip by making the tip of the asymmetrical ski towards the other ski of the same pair. This added piece, often called a "diverter", however has the disadvantage of increasing the weight of the ski. In order to overcome this drawback, it is necessary to produce relatively short deflectors, so that their efficiency is not optimal.

The invention aims to remedy this drawback, by means of a ski comprising an asymmetrical deflector which can be made of a greater length than these known deflectors, while providing the ski with the same additional weight as these. To this end, the tip of this ski is truncated along a transverse line, and this asymmetrical deflector comprises an upstream part which is placed on top of the truncated end of this spatula, this upstream part corresponding accordingly to the shape of this end. truncated and connected, at this transverse line, to a downstream cantilevered part, this downstream part being asymmetrical and substantially horizontal. This downstream part ends in a point directed towards the other ski of the pair, this point being, according to another advantageous characteristic, slightly raised.

Advantageously also, this asymmetrical deflector is pierced with one or more holes.

  • Figure 1 est une vue en perspective de la partie avant de ce ski;
  • Figure 2 en est une vue latérale; et
In any case, the invention will be well understood and its advantages and characteristics will become apparent during the following description of a nonlimiting example of embodiment of this ski, with reference to the appended schematic drawing in which:
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the front part of this ski;
  • Figure 2 is a side view; and
  • Figure 3 shows, top view, the front part of an apire of skis of this type.

In Figures 1 and 2 is shown a ski for left foot. This ski, which is a slalom ski, has an asymmetrical deflector 2 which is attached by gluing or shares any other means on its tip 3 and which becomes thinner while being curved towards the other ski of the pair , a large part 5 of this deflector being in overhang relative to this spatula 3. The deflector 2 is pierced with holes 4, in order on the one hand to make it lighter, and on the other hand to improve its penetration into the air. The cantilever part 5 is substantially horizontal, its pointed end 6, however, rising slightly.

The upstream part 8 of the deflector 2 precisely follows the top of the truncated end of the spatula 3, and this upstream part 8 is progressively connected, at the level of the transverse line 7, to the substantially horizontal part 5.

These skis 9,10 are therefore fitted with added deflectors 11,12 which are each curved, in top view, towards the other ski of the same pair (respectively 10 and 9).

Ce mode de réalisation contribue également à limiter le risque d'enfourchement du piquet de slalom 13.The additional length, compared to the standard ski without deflector, conferred by a deflector such as 11, is referenced by L. Due to the flattened shape of the deflector 11, this supplement L is greater, for an equal amount of added material, to that conferred by an asymmetric deflector of known type whose curve extends that of the complete tip on which it is attached. The risk of getting on a slalom pole 13 is consequently reduced accordingly. Also due to the flattened shape of the deflector 11, the contact angle between this deflector and the stake is substantially a right angle, whereas with a traditional spatula or a known deflector, the curve of which extends that of the spatula, this contact angle is around 45 degrees. This embodiment also contributes to limiting the risk of straddling the slalom stake 13.

The lowered length of this deflector allows the ski to be engaged in the turn when taking the edge of the interior ski. By its flattened shape, it allows the ski to more easily erase the stake and consequently the skier to more easily evade it. The ski's turning trajectory is therefore tighter and allows a higher speed of passage of the slalom gates.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described. On the contrary, it embraces all the equivalents. For example, instead of being added, the elongated tip, comprising this deflector, can be integrated into the structure of the ski during its production, for example by molding.
