Description

The invention relates to a container for the presentation of refrigerated goods in sales rooms.

A large number of goods, especially foodstuffs, only have a sufficient shelf life at low temperatures. The reduced temperature must be maintained as seamlessly as possible during the transport from the manufacturer to the retailer, during the subsequent storage at the retailer and also during the presentation in the retail salesrooms. In retail stores, therefore, cold rooms are provided for storing the affected goods, and in the sales rooms there are freezers or refrigerators from which the customer can remove the selected goods.

The available space within such freezers or refrigerators is naturally limited. If additional goods to be kept cool are to be offered, additional refrigeration units of the type mentioned must be set up. This causes relatively high costs and often fails due to lack of space.

On the other hand, it is largely customary to present goods in the most varied ways in the aisles between the shelves of supermarkets and in other open spaces. This so-called second placement has so far not been considered for goods to be kept cool, since the cooling or cooling of these goods cannot be guaranteed. They therefore have to be accommodated in the limited space of conventional refrigerators.

The invention has for its object to provide a container that in a simple and inexpensive manner a second placement of goods in need of refrigeration anywhere and also in smaller units.

This object is achieved by a container of the type mentioned, which is characterized in that the container is designed in the manner of a folding box with wall elements and has a receiving position for an exchangeable cooling element.

Since the goods in question are usually kept completely cool on the way from the manufacturer to the retail cold store and thus get cool to the sales area, they can be kept cool much longer in a heat-insulating container than with an open presentation. If the goods are delivered by the manufacturer in a closed container serving as packaging, this can possibly serve directly as a heat-insulating container, which only has to be opened to remove the goods. The container is cooled using an interchangeable cooling device. The open side is expediently covered during the night.

A container according to the invention preferably consists of individual wall elements which are easy to assemble or which can be connected and erected in the manner of a folding carton and with the highest possible thermal insulation. A replaceable cooling element is attached to the container in the sales room.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the container consists of a folding box made of corrugated cardboard, which can be transported when folded and only has to be erected immediately before use. However, a container made of individual wall elements can also be considered, which can be put together with the aid of suitable connecting members or glued together with the aid of adhesive strips. The thermal insulation of corrugated cardboard is enough fold out, however, the wall elements can also consist of polystyrene or the like for higher requirements on the thermal insulation.

The container according to the invention can be used in various forms. If the floor is left out, the container can be put over a pallet loaded with goods. On the other hand, the lid can be omitted or at least be designed so that it can be lifted off, so that the container can be inserted in the manner of a freezer and opened directly in a sales room. If a side wall element is omitted, the container can be stacked together with corresponding containers to form a shelf.

One and the same container can be used for the various previously mentioned applications, in which the open side is directed either downwards, upwards or to the side.

A cooling battery or a Peltier element can be considered as the cooling element, and possibly also a conventional cooling unit. The cooling element is detachably inserted into a cutout in a wall element of the container or placed in a bridge shape from above onto the open container.

  • Fig. 1 bis 3 zeigen eine erste Ausführungsform der Erfindung in einer perspektivischen Ansicht, einem waagerechten Querschnitt und einem senkrechten Schnitt;
  • Fig. 4 entspricht im wesentlichen Fig. 3, zeigt jedoch einen anderen Anwendungsfall des Kühlbehälters;
  • Fig. 5 ist eine perspektivische Darstellung eines Kühlbehälters in der Form einer Kühltruhe;
  • Fig. 6 zeigt eine ähnliche Ausführungsform, die jedoch oben und auf der Seite offen ist;
Preferred exemplary embodiments of a container according to the invention, hereinafter referred to as cooling containers, are explained in more detail below with reference to the attached drawing.
  • 1 to 3 show a first embodiment of the invention in a perspective view, a horizontal cross section and a vertical section;
  • FIG. 4 essentially corresponds to FIG. 3, but shows another application of the cooling container;
  • 5 is a perspective view of a cooling container in the form of a freezer;
  • Fig. 6 shows a similar embodiment, but which is open at the top and on the side;
  • 7 to 9 show another embodiment of the invention in a cross section, a longitudinal section and a perspective top view.

Ein Deckel 28 aus isolierendem Material, der ebenfalls aus Wellpappe bestehen kann, deckt das Kühlorgan 24 an der Außenseite ab.Figures 1 to 3 show a cooling container in the form of an open cardboard box made of corrugated cardboard. The cooling container comprises side wall elements 10, 12, 14, 16 and an upper wall element 18 which are connected at their edges by means of adhesive strips 20. In this embodiment, it is therefore assumed that it is not a folding box, but that loose individual wall elements are used. These wall elements can be stacked during transport and storage and require very little space. You can otherwise be available in different dimensions, so that cooling containers of different sizes can be produced by combining suitable wall elements. The lateral wall element 10 located at the front in FIG. 1 has a rectangular cutout 22 into which a cooling element 24 can be inserted. To hold the cooling member 24 according to FIGS. 2 and 3, an open top compartment 26, for example made of sheet metal, is provided which can be attached to the corrugated cardboard at the lower edge of the cutout 22. A cover 28 made of insulating material, which can also consist of corrugated cardboard, covers the cooling element 24 on the outside.

A cooling battery that can be cooled at a suitable point and then inserted into the compartment 26 can be considered as a cooling member, for example. The cold pack can be replaced in just a few simple steps.

For example, a Peltier element can also be used as the cooling element.

The cooling container shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 is provided as a cover for a pallet 30 shown in FIG. 3, on which goods 32 are stacked. The pallet 30 can, for example, be set up in a retail salesroom, and the cover can be removed at the beginning of the sales period, but put on overnight. The upper wall element 18 can also be removed so that the goods 32 can be removed from above.

According to Figure 4, the cooling container is used in the manner of a freezer. The cooling container shown in FIG. 4 corresponds to that of FIGS. 1 to 3. However, there is not a pallet within the cooling container. Rather, there are a few layers of corrugated cardboard 34 on the floor Insulation on which the goods 32 are stacked. The upper wall element 18 forms a removable cover, which is removed when the retail store is opened.

A cooling container 36 according to FIG. 5 corresponds to the function of a freezer, but is much cheaper to manufacture and is intended for single or multiple, but temporary use. The cooling container 36 can be designed as a double-walled corrugated cardboard construction, but can alternatively consist of wall elements 38, 40, 42, 44, which are made of a multi-layer composite material, which ensures increased thermal insulation. The cooling container has the shape of a rectangular box open at the top, which rests on a recessed, rectangular base 46. In the wall element denoted by 38, a cutout 22 is again provided, which in this case enters the wall element from above and enables a cooling element 24 to be accommodated.

A cooling container 48 according to FIG. 6 again has the shape of a rectangular box open at the top with wall elements 50, 52, 54, 56 made of a similar material to that described in connection with FIG. 5. In addition to the upper side, the container is also open on the side facing the viewer, except for the lower part of the front wall element 54. In the container 48, packs of goods are stacked in box-shaped boxes in two columns which completely fill the interior. The merchandise packs 58 have openings 62 in the upper surface 60 visible in FIG. 6 and, if appropriate, in the invisible lower and lateral surfaces, which enable heat or cold exchange between the merchandise packs when the goods contained therein cool down.

In this way, the packs of goods can already be placed in the cooling container 48 by the manufacturer and then cooled. The container can also serve as packaging. The front surfaces 64 of the goods packs 58 are closed, so that heat exchange through these surfaces during presentation in the trade is excluded.

In its simplest embodiment, the cooling container according to the invention can thus be a box-shaped structure, possibly a packaging box, which is used only once and is discarded after the goods have been sold. However, it can also be a simplified refrigerator which offers the possibility of presenting goods as in a conventional freezer, without having to incur the considerable costs of a freezer.

Instead of a cutout 22 within a wall surface of the container, the cutout can also be formed on the upper edge of a wall element, as shown in FIG. 5.

In diesem Falle kann der nicht näher bezeichnete, kühlende Teil des Kühlorgans auf der inneren Wandfläche und der wärmeabgebende Teil des Kühlorgans auf der äußeren Wandfläche liegen.FIG. 6 shows a cooling element 24 which has a U-shaped cross section and is placed on the upper edge of a wall element. In this case, the unspecified cooling part of the cooling element can lie on the inner wall surface and the heat-emitting part of the cooling element can lie on the outer wall surface.

Fig. 7, 8 und 9 zeigen eine andere, besonders vorteilhafte Ausführungsform der Erfindung in einem Querschnitt, einem Längsschnitt und einer perspektivischen Draufsicht.7, 8 and 9 show another, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention in a cross section, a longitudinal section and a perspective top view.

A heat-insulating container 70 stands on a pallet 72. The container 70 is a conventional box on which Bottom 74 a for example 5 cm thick plate 76 made of insulating material, for example plastic foam, is placed. Corresponding plates 78, 80, 82, 84 are placed against the inside of the cardboard walls. The walls of the cardboard have flaps 86, 88, 90, 92 in the upward extension, which are folded over above the side insulating plates 78 to 84. This results in a stable and well insulating construction.

In this case, a conventional cooling unit 94 is provided as the cooling element, which receives electrical current via an electrical line 96. The cooling unit 94 is only shown as a closed housing with ventilation grilles, but contains an electric motor, a compressor and the lines and valves customary in cooling units.

The cooling unit 94 is arranged on a bridge 98, which is formed, for example, by a strip-shaped sheet metal which has angled flanges 100, 102 on the two opposite sides, so that the bridge 98 can be placed on the container 70 in the manner shown in FIG. 7 and overlaps it with the flanges 100, 102 on the opposite sides.

An elongated evaporator 104 is located below the bridge 98 and thus in the inner upper region of the container 70. The evaporator 104 consists, for example, according to FIG.

This embodiment is particularly advantageous because the cold of the cooling unit 94 sinks into the top of the container and is well distributed over the entire goods. Otherwise, the cooling unit can help can be easily put on or taken off with handles 110, 112.

In this case too, the container 70 can represent the packaging of the goods in which the goods are delivered by the manufacturer. In this case, the goods can be kept cool at the manufacturer, during transport to the dealer and possibly in the store of the dealer, so that they do not have to be cooled down when presented in the sales room. The cooling unit 94 therefore only requires a relatively low output, which compensates for the ongoing heat losses. In this case as well, the heat losses can be restricted outside the sales times by covering the container 70.
