Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for making the removable fixing of a housing, having an upper part and a lower part, on a piece of fabric or a sheet of deformable material.
  • the case of the assembly contains a watch movement.
  • the time indicator function of the accessory watch remains important. However, in the same way as a scarf, a tie or a handbag, it has become common to have several watches, which we match with the clothes we wear, or that we adapt to our activity momentary. In particular, watches whose straps can be changed easily are an easy way to adapt.
  • a watch designed to allow a change of bracelet is described in the European patent application published under number 0198801.
  • This patent application describes an assembly comprising a flat case fixed on a textile or a synthetic or natural thin material.
  • the textile or the thin material comprises a ring crimped on the periphery of a hole previously made in the textile at a predetermined location, the housing having a circular bottom introduced into the ring and substantially the same thickness as the latter.
  • the housing and the ring have cooperating retaining means for ensuring a removable fixing of the housing on the textile.
  • the watch produced using the assembly described in European patent application No. 0198801 fulfills well the watch-accessory function mentioned above. Indeed, the variety of textiles or synthetic materials taking the place of a strap on which the watch case can be fixed are numerous and varied. However, the cost of manufacturing such straps is relatively high, since it is necessary to crimp a ring around the edge of a hole previously made in the textile or other material constituting the bracelet. This cost is all the higher as said crimping must be carried out on an elastic material.
  • Swiss Patent No. 351224 describes a wristwatch case the bottom of which has a diametrical passage for the watch strap, made in its thickness.
  • This box can therefore be removably attached to the bracelet which could consist of a piece of fabric.
  • the shape of such a piece of fabric cannot be chosen at will, since it is clear that this piece is necessarily constituted by a strip whose width is less than that of said passage made in the bottom of the box.
  • British Patent No. 1,156,894 describes a device for fixing a watch case on a bracelet having an opening allowing the passage of the lower part of the case as well as a fixing ring intended to engage on the wall of this lower part of the case in order to retain the case fixed on the bracelet.
  • the bracelet is made of fabric or covered with fabric, it is necessary that an opening is made in the bracelet and, if necessary, in the fabric covering it, in order to allow the passage of the part. bottom of the case.
  • This device therefore does not make it possible to fix a watch case on a piece of fabric without piercing an opening in the fabric where it is desired to fix the case.
  • Swiss Patent No. 349.223 describes a device for attaching a watch case to a bracelet, by means of a piece removably mounted on the box and comprising fixing handles. This device does not make it possible to fix a watch case on a piece of fabric having a width greater than that of the fixing handles.
  • the Swiss patent No 333.998 describes a device making it possible to fix a watch on a clothing element, but it requires, on the one hand, the presence of the slit through this element, such as a jacket buttonhole and, on the other hand, that of a barrel from production with the watch case.
  • German utility model No 1.790.789 describes a bracelet in the form of a band in two parts, each of which is provided, at one end, with a transverse bulge arranged so as to be able to be fixed in a groove of corresponding shape formed in the side wall of the watch case, in order to allow the removable fixing of this bracelet on this case.
  • This device therefore requires a special arrangement of the strap and it does not make it possible to fix a watch case on any unspecified location of a piece of fabric.
  • French Patent No. 1,564,277 describes a device for fixing a bracelet to a watch case, this device comprising a removable fixing piece axially pressing the part of the bracelet surrounding a hole, through which a projection extends from the bottom of the box, against part of the watch case.
  • This device therefore requires the drilling of a hole in the bracelet and it would not allow a watch case to be fixed to a piece of fabric or an article of clothing not including an opening at the place where it is desired to place the watch box.
  • French Patent No. 1,598,983 describes a wristwatch in which the case is either removably attached to the bracelet, or glued or welded to it.
  • the bracelet In the first case, the bracelet is pierced with an opening for the passage of the bottom of the case. None of the variants of the device for fixing the case to the bracelet, described in this patent, therefore makes it possible to removably fix a watch case on a piece of fabric or clothing without having to pierce an opening for the passage of the box where you want to place it.
  • Swiss Patent No 536.083 describes a wristwatch in which the bracelet has an opening for the passage of the watch case, this opening being surrounded by a reinforcement frame, embedded in the material of the bracelet, intended to hold in place the part of the box engaged in said opening, engaging in a lateral recess formed in this part of the box.
  • the removable fixing device of the box on the bracelet therefore also includes an opening for the passage of the box and it would not allow a watch case to be fixed on a piece of fabric or a garment without such an opening. where you want to place this watch.
  • Swiss patent application No. 647,918 describes a wristwatch in which the watch case comprises two plates held at a distance by an annular spacer, these plates extending beyond this spacer while providing a free annular space in which the bracelet engages.
  • the device for fixing the box to the bracelet therefore also requires that the latter has an opening for the passage of the watch case.
  • the object of the invention is to propose an assembly allowing the removable fixing of a case, in particular a watch case, on a support, making it possible to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above.
  • the invention aims to allow the assembly of a case either on a bracelet covered with a removable fabric sheath, or on a piece of fabric, constituting for example a piece of clothing, without requiring a particular arrangement of the fabric where it is desired to make this assembly and without damaging the fabric.
  • the fixing device is characterized in that it comprises a support having an opening arranged so as to allow the nesting of the lower part of the housing in this opening, by driving a part of said part. of fabric or sheet of deformable material, the upper edge of this opening engaging under a flat rim projecting from the upper part of the housing, pinching said fabric or said sheet against this rim, and an elastic tension member whose external dimensions are, in the idle state, substantially greater than the internal dimensions of said opening of the support, this tension member being arranged so as to be able to be housed in a peripheral groove formed in the external wall of the lower part of the housing.
  • the support is in the form of a rigid bracelet, having a flat part comprising an opening in which the case is fixed, this bracelet being covered with a removable sheath of elastic fabric.
  • the bracelet can be made of a deformable material, such as for example special spring steel, allowing a wrist adjustment without closure.
  • the bracelet can include a ring element spot welded under the flat part of the bracelet.
  • the support is in the form of an annular element.
  • the assembly can be carried out on a clothing item. It can also be made on an elastic fabric, comprising an area of reduced thickness at the point of attachment of the housing to the annular element.
  • the means for retaining the housing on the support may comprise a wire-spring element of steel or of plastic or synthetic material arranged in a groove provided on the periphery of the housing and the outside diameter of which is, at rest, substantially greater the inside diameter of the opening of the support, so as to be retained against the underside of the support after the housing has been fitted by pressure into the opening of the support.
  • the spring-wire element can be replaced by a tension ring made of steel or plastic or synthetic material, arranged in a groove provided on the periphery of the case at the level of the winder and whose diameter is, at rest, substantially greater than the inside diameter of the support opening, so as to be retained against the underside of the support after the casing has been snapped into the opening of the support, the tension ring having a slot whose edges are located on either side of the winder.
  • the housing can be made of plastic and include a lower part and an upper part, the upper part forming the glass and the lower part the middle part, the outer plan dimensions of the upper part, transparent, being greater than those of the lower part. , the upper part of the housing having on its periphery a rim which rests on the support.
  • the case may contain a watch movement or a compass.
  • the dial indexes can be an integral part of the upper part of the case.
  • FIG. 1 shows a bracelet 1 constituting a first embodiment of the support of the assembly.
  • Bracelet 1 is made up of a set of stainless steel, for example special spring steel, allowing adjustment to the wrist without closure. It comprises a basic element 2, shown in FIG. 2, produced by cutting from a thin steel plate and has a circular hole 3 in its center, intended to receive a housing.
  • a ring 4 is spot welded to the base element of the bracelet.
  • This ring 4, shown in Figures 3 to 5 is of greater thickness than that of the base element. It has in its center a hole 5 of the same diameter as that of the base element.
  • This ring has on one of its faces a plurality of rounded protrusions 6 produced by stamping, and regularly distributed around the hole 5.
  • the spot welding of the ring on the base element of the bracelet is carried out at the level of these prominences.
  • the lateral parts 7, 7 ′ of the base element of the bracelet are then folded so as to obtain the curvature shown in FIG. 1. This bracelet adapts after individual shaping to all the wrists.
  • the bracelet is covered with an elongated sheath (not shown in the drawings) in elastic fabric.
  • This sheath completely covers the bracelet, including the central hole of the bracelet. It is removable and replaceable. In fact, it has an invisible buttonhole, located near one of its ends. This buttonhole makes it possible to introduce the bracelet into the sheath by introducing the end of one of the lateral parts 7, 7 ′ of the bracelet into the buttonhole of the sheath.
  • a large choice of sheaths in elastic fabric of various qualities and various colors, which may include various patterns, can be offered, in order to allow the watch to be adapted to suit the clothing of the wearer.
  • the housing shown in Figures 6 and 7 is generally cylindrical in shape and can be made of plastic. It has a transparent upper part 8 which forms the glass and a lower part 9 which can contain a watch movement.
  • the lower part 9 has an upper ring 10 arranged so as to be able to fit into a groove 11, formed in the base of the upper part 8, around its entire periphery.
  • the crown 10 and the groove 11 are arranged so as to ensure the closure of the case.
  • the crown 10 has an outer rim 12 intended to cooperate with an inner rim 13 of the groove 11, in order to keep the housing in the closed position after the crown 10 has been introduced by pressure into the groove 11.
  • an O-ring seal 14 in rubber is placed in the bottom of the groove 11.
  • the upper part 8 of the housing the upper surface is rounded has an overhanging part 15 whose outer diameter is larger than the outer diameter of the lower part 9 of the housing.
  • This projecting part 15 has a flat lower rim 16.
  • the lower part 9 of the case has a lateral groove 17 on its periphery, located at the frame 18 of the winder, in order to limit the thickness of the case.
  • a tension ring 19, shown in FIG. 8, is placed in the lateral groove 17 of the lower part of the housing.
  • This tension ring has a transverse slot 20, the edges of which are arranged on either side of the frame 18 of the winder.
  • the outside diameter of the tension ring is substantially greater than the inside diameter of the hole 5 in the ring of the bracelet, so as to be retained against the underside of said ring after the case has been fitted pressure in the hole of the bracelet.
  • the tension ring 19 can be made of steel or of plastic or synthetic material.
  • the fixing of the case on the bracelet covered with the fabric sheath 22 '(Fig 9b) is carried out by simple thumb pressure on the upper surface of the case, the case being placed against the fabric in line with the hole 3 of the bracelet.
  • pressure is applied using the thumbs on the lower surface of the case, this pressure being effected through the fabric.
  • the flange 16 of the projecting part 15 of the upper part of the case comes to rest against the flat surface 21 of the bracelet which surrounds the hole 3.
  • the projecting part 15 of the upper part of the case being transparent, the fabric 22 'which covers the bracelet and which is under this projecting part is visible by transparency. The resulting aesthetic appearance is most beautiful.
