Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a watch comprising complementary means for ensuring the holding and instantaneous locking / unlocking of at least one of the ends of a link, such as a bracelet, said means being integral with two elements of said watch arranged to rotate relative to each other.
  • An important element of the clothing of a wristwatch is the bracelet allowing to fix it around the wrist, in the same way for a medallion watch it is the chain by which it is suspended around the neck or for the watches of the type brooch suspended by a flexible link intended to be hung on a garment, the chain or the flexible link constitutes one of the aesthetic elements of the watch.
  • the evolution of manners and fashion has created new needs, in particular with regard to changing the bracelet or even the flexible link of a pin watch, or the chain of a medallion watch to adapt it, i.e. to circumstances or clothing, either fashionable.
  • Another element of the strap of a watch which sometimes poses problems is the buckle, in particular concerning the metallic bracelets, because during the lengthening according to the turn of the wrist of the user, it is necessary to take care to shorten the two strands of the bracelet of the same length so that the buckle is always positioned in the right place.
  • leather bracelets the fact of having each time that we put or take off a watch to unhook the end of a strand and slide it into the loop causes some wear of this end which is annoying especially when it is a quality and expensive bracelet.
  • a watch or jewelry has been proposed mounted so as to be able to pivot on a plate, connected to one end of a bracelet and comprising on the opposite side, a hook in which one can engage a loop secured to the other end of the bracelet.
  • the watch or the central jewelry has a shape such that in a certain angular position the hook is released, allowing the bracelet to be unhooked and in another position, the hook is blocked ensuring the locking of the bracelet.
  • a watch has been proposed, the frame of the case having a diameter smaller than the bottom making it possible to house a support ring provided at two diametrically opposite points with two hooks. At two diametrically opposite points, the telescope is also provided with two noses. The support ring is grooved to allow the winder to pass and allow the watch to rotate to release the noses in which the ends of a bracelet are housed.
  • a watch case which has, in its cylindrical side wall, a groove and a slot in which a semi-cylindrical intermediate piece provided with a tongue extending outwards of the box can move freely.
  • the tongue leaving the box through the slot is capable of covering or uncovering the clasp of the bracelet which is formed by a hook secured to the watch box.
  • the devices proposed in these three documents make it possible either to quickly change the strap of a watch, or they offer clasps for wristwatches and require special manufacturing and intermediate parts whose placement and function can have harmful consequences. on certain qualities of a watch, for example accessibility. inside the box or sealing.
  • a wristwatch has been proposed formed from two independent parts, one comprising a middle part with a base and the other comprising a horn support constituted by a flat circular ring.
  • a housing intended to receive a ball and a spring is formed in each horn.
  • the middle part has for its part two recesses intended to come opposite the housings of the horns, thus the balls pushed by the springs can enter there.
  • An anti-shock mounting is obtained for the middle part suspended in the horn support.
  • the present invention proposes to overcome the drawbacks of existing constructions concerning the rapid change of a bracelet or any other link of a watch as well as to eliminate the problems caused by conventional loops of a wristwatch by combining constructions which are known and mastered by those skilled in the art but never with the aim of obtaining a rapid change of bracelet or as a loop of a wristwatch.
  • the watch case according to the invention is characterized in that one of said elements is a rotating bezel and the other the middle part of the watch.
  • the advantage of the watch case according to the invention which mainly concerns a wrist watch box, but also a pin watch suspended by a flexible link or even a medallion watch is that the holding of one of the ends of the flexible link and locking with the box are provided by means complementary to the rotating bezel and the middle arranged to allow instant unlocking and locking.
  • the rotating bezel and the middle are assembled so that the bezel can rotate at least a few degrees around an axis perpendicular to the plane of the watch dial.
  • This assembly thus allows the locking and unlocking of the end of the link by simple rotation of the telescope by a few degrees, this rotation allowing the removal of the complementary means or their bringing together to unlock respectively lock the holding of the end of the link, in particular of the bracelet.
  • Figure 1 is a schematic plan view of a watch case and the ends of a bracelet in the unlocked position.
  • Figures 2 and 3 are views similar to the previous of an alternative embodiment.
  • Figure 4 is a view similar to the preceding of a wristwatch with two pairs of horns.
  • FIG. 5 is a view of an alternative embodiment of FIG. 4.
  • Figure 6 is a view similar to the others of another alternative embodiment.
  • Figure 7 is a 12h - 12h sectional view mainly showing the bezel-middle part assembly.
  • the bezel is rotatably mounted on the middle in a known manner.
  • An example of such an assembly will be described using FIG. 7.
  • FIG. 1 is shown schematically a watch middle 1 provided with two lateral protuberances 2 and 3 each being provided with a groove 4, 5 intended to receive the rod 6 of a strand of bracelet 7.
  • a rotating bezel 8 On the middle 1 is mounted a rotating bezel 8 by means which we will describe later.
  • the bezel 8 is also provided with two lateral protuberances 9, 10 whose shape is complementary to the two protuberances 2 and 3 of the middle part.
  • the bezel 8 is rotated a few degrees so as to release the two protrusions and in particular the two grooves 4 and 5, the rods 6 are engaged in the grooves and this for the two strands and the bezel 8 is turned in the opposite direction to superimpose the protrusions 9 and 10 on the protrusions 4 and 5, so the ends of the bracelet are held, on the one hand, by the grooves 2 and 3 and, on the other part, locked by protrusions 9 and 10.
  • said grooves can be made so that their walls are oblique, that is to say that they fall into the thickness of the protrusions towards their free ends.
  • the bezel is provided with an intermediate protuberance 11 which can easily correspond to the protuberance that is found in certain cases protecting the crown of the winding or time-setting stem.
  • This protuberance 11 is useful when one wants to avoid the use of a conventional buckle, so to remove a watch worn on the wrist, it suffices to turn the bezel 8 by 90 ° so that the protuberance 11 comes opposite the protuberance 3 or possibly 2 so as to ensure the locking of one of the two protrusions and release only one of the two, in this case the one bearing the reference 2, in order to be able to unhook the bracelet. We therefore proceed in this way to remove or replace a wristwatch around the wrist without having to use a buckle.
  • FIG. 4 we have shown a watch case 12 provided with two pairs of conventional horns 13, 14, 15 and 16, each being provided with a notch 17 provided for receiving the rod 18 of a watch strap 19.
  • a bezel 20 is mounted in the same way as above on the middle part and it is also provided with four projections 21, 22, 23 and 24 of a shape complementary to that of the horns 13 to 16 of the middle part. After having put the rod 18 in the notches 17 of the four horns, the bezel 20 is turned so that the projections 21, 22, 23 and 24 are superimposed on the horns 13, 14, 15 and 16 thus obtaining the locking of the ends of the bracelet.
  • a device prevents inadvertent rotation of the bezel 20 to avoid accidental unlocking.
  • FIG. 5 we have represented another alternative embodiment similar to that described in FIG. 4, that is to say that the watch case 30 is also provided with two pairs of horns 31, 32, 33 and 34 but this time the diametrically opposite horns 31 and 34 are provided with a notch 35, 36 while the horns 32, 33 are provided with a hole, blind or not, 37, 38.
  • a bezel 39 is mounted on the middle as before and it is provided only with two projections 40, 41 of complementary shape to the horns 31 and 34 provided with notches 35, 36.
  • FIG. 6 we have shown a last alternative embodiment of a watch case 50 provided with two lateral protrusions 51 and 52 provided with a recess in the form for example of a dovetail 53, 54 intended to receive the end of a bracelet strand 59 of corresponding shape, while a rotating bezel 55 is provided with two projections 56, 57 which are superimposed on the protrusions 51, 52 to lock the end of the bracelet as before. From the examples described above, it is possible to imagine several variants which do not depart from the spirit of the invention.
  • Figure 7 is shown a 12h-12h sectional view of an embodiment of the invention, this view is mainly presented to show a possible execution of the assembly of the rotating bezel on the middle bezel as well as a means preventing the rotating bezel to rotate inadvertently.
  • the watch case comprises a bezel middle 100, closed by a bottom 101, which can be screwed on, or driven off, housing a movement 103 and closed on the upper part of a glass 104.
  • a rotating bezel 105 is mounted on the middle bezel 100, assembly is provided by a spring 106 forming a polygonal line and housed in two grooves 107 and 108 facing each other provided on the bezel 105 and the rotating middle 100.
  • the middle part of the bezel 100 is provided with a protuberance 109 provided with a recess 109a (like for example that of FIG. 1) intended to accommodate the rod 110 of a strand of bracelet 111 (similar to that of FIG. 1).
  • the bezel 105 is also provided with a complementary protuberance 105a making it possible to lock the rod 110 in the recess 109a.
  • one or more balls or nipples with a spherical head 112 can be provided each housed in a socket 113 set in the middle of the bezel and comprising an elastic means (for example a spring ) to push the ball or the nipple into a depression 114 in the telescope.
  • an elastic means for example a spring
  • the bezel 105 cannot be inadvertently rotated. A greater moment of rotation is necessary to close the bezel 105 and cause the ball or the stud 112 to exit from the depression 114.
  • other means for locking the bezel in rotation can be used.
  • the invention can be used for pin watches suspended by a flexible link and in this case instead of having two protrusions or two pairs of horns etc. just have one.
  • the object of the invention is to be able to change the link, for example to accord it to the clothing or circumstance.
  • the rotating bezel can be provided with two notches, instead of two protrusions, which must be positioned facing the housing provided in the middle by the ends. of the bracelet to unlock the bracelet.
