Abstract

The strap winder has a base plate (1) with a recessed grip (2) which is arranged laterally alongside the usual spring-tensioned strap drum (11) and through which the pulling strap (3) passes transversely, the pulling strap running from the device to be operated via a strap clamping device to the recessed grip and from the latter via deflection rollers to the strap drum, so that the strap winder can, due to its relatively flat design, be fitted countersunk in a thin-walled lintel surface above a skylight and thus allowing for more convenient operation.

Description

The invention relates to a belt winder, in particular for roof window shutters, with a belt drum biased by spring force in the winding direction for a tension belt passing through a first belt opening and a belt clamping device arranged near the first belt opening, the belt drum essentially at the rear of a base plate vertical axis of rotation is rotatably mounted.

In the known belt winders of this type, for example as described in DE-U 84 35 275, the belt drum is rotatably mounted between two plates of a box-like housing which is installed in a deep recess in the wall next to the window so that the axis of rotation of the belt drum runs parallel to the wall surface and the tension belt runs from the belt drum via a belt clamping device located in the housing and a housing opening via the wall surface to a distant passage opening for the roller shutter. However, this construction is not suitable for skylights, next to which there is usually no sufficiently thick wall available. Such belt winders have already been freely mounted on the window frame of the roof window, but this requires the attachment of a belt slot that is difficult to seal in the window frame and hinders the operation of the roller shutter when the window sash is open.

The object of the invention is to provide a belt winder of the type mentioned, which is suitable for installation in skylights with a simple, inexpensive construction and allows convenient operation. For this purpose, it should have the lowest possible installation depth.

To achieve this object, the belt winder of the type mentioned is equipped according to the invention with the features of claim 1.

Due to the recessed grip on the side next to the belt drum in a base plate, which is traversed by the tension belt, the belt winder is so flat that it can easily be sunk into the thin-walled lintel surface above a skylight or into the lintel board of a skylight inner lining, whereby not only a comfortable operation, but also a very short tension belt length, so that the belt drum requires only small dimensions.

Advantageous further developments of the belt winder are described in the subclaims.

The belt winder according to the invention is particularly suitable for the roof window shutters described in the German patent application DE-A 3 717 681, in which the tension belt is deflected by the belt drum connected to the winding shaft of the roller shutter by belt deflection elements arranged in the roller shutter box in such a way that it is deflected by one of the belt drum in the longitudinal direction of the winding shaft removed belt opening in the outer cover of the frame upper piece between this and a covering part under its outer cover is fed directly to the belt winder built into the lintel surface or an inner lining above the roof window. The belt winder can also be used for roof window roller shutters, where the belt opening in the outer cover of the upper frame part is opposite the belt drum in the roller shutter box.

In the following a preferred embodiment of the belt winder is further explained with reference to the attached drawings. Show it:
  • 1 is a schematic plan view of the back of the belt winder,
  • Fig. 2 is a schematic longitudinal section along the line AA of Fig. 1 and
  • Fig. 3 is a schematic sectional view of the arrangement of the belt winder on a roof window provided with a roller shutter.

The belt winder shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a flat base plate 1 with a plastic recessed grip 2 inserted into a rectangular opening in the base plate. On opposite sides of the recessed grip 2, belt openings 4 and 5 are provided for the tension belt 3, which passes through the recessed grip 2 transversely. A belt clamping device 6 with an upstream belt guide roller 7 is attached to the rear of the base plate 1 in front of the belt opening 4. On the other side of the recessed grip 2, two belt deflection rollers 8 and 9 are rotatably mounted on the back of the base plate 1. The base plate 1 also carries on its rear side a belt drum 11 which is rotatably mounted laterally next to the recessed grip 2 and is preloaded in the winding direction in a conventional manner by a spring device. The tension belt 3 runs from the belt drum 11 via a belt deflection roller 10 which is rotatably mounted between the latter and the recessed grip 2 and then obliquely under axial belt rotation over the facing curvature of the recessed grip 2 between the deflection rollers 9 and 8 and then through the belt opening 5 across the recessed grip 2 to the belt opening 4, from where it runs through the belt clamping device 6 via the belt guide roller 7, for example to the belt drum of a roller shutter, not shown.

Due to the arrangement of the belt drum 11 laterally next to the recessed grip 2 and the guidance of the tension belt 3 on the one hand across the recessed grip 2 and on the other hand obliquely over its rear curvature, the belt winder is overall so flat that it can be easily inserted into the thin-walled lintel surface above a skylight or in the headboard of a skylight inner lining can be installed sunk, the recessed grip 2 at the same time allowing the tension belt 3 to be actuated comfortably.

The belt clamping device 6 in the illustrated embodiment consists of a tension belt 3 encompassing a U-shaped clamping part which is pivotably articulated on a second clamping part pivotably mounted on the base plate 1, the pivot axes of these clamping parts rotating Axis of the belt guide roller 7 form an almost right-angled triangle.

In FIG. 3, the belt winder is installed on a roof window provided with a roller shutter, the upper frame part of the frame 12 of which carries an awning box 13 with a belt opening 13a, which is covered by a covering part 22. A roller shutter box 14 is fastened to the awning box 3 via a support rail 25 connected to it. In the roller shutter box 14, a belt drum 18 coaxially connected to a rotatably mounted winding shaft 16 for the roller shutter 17 is arranged. The tension belt 3 fastened to this runs over a plurality of belt deflection rollers 27, 28 and 29 which are rotatably mounted in the roller shutter box 14 to form a rotatably mounted belt deflection roller 23 which is aligned with the belt opening 13a of the awning box 13 and the gap 20 between the upper frame part 12 and the cover part 22 is. The tension belt 3 runs from the belt deflection roller 23 through the gap 20 in a straight line to the belt guide roller 7 of the belt winder arranged in a recess 26 of a roof window inner lining 15 and from there through the belt clamping device 6 across the recessed grip 2 and then over the belt deflection roller 8, 9 and 10 to the belt drum 11. FIG. 1 clearly shows that this attachment of the belt winder only requires a relatively short tension belt 3, so that the diameter of the belt drum 11 of the belt winder and the belt drum 18 of the roller shutter box can be kept small. At the same time, convenient operation of the section of the tension belt 3 spanning the recessed grip 2 is ensured even when the window sash is open. Since the belt opening 13a is sealed on all sides by the roller shutter box 14 and a flexible seal arranged thereon, any penetration of rainwater, flying snow etc. into the gap 20 is also reliably prevented.

The belt winder described above with reference to a preferred embodiment can be modified by the person skilled in the art in various ways depending on the requirements of the individual case, provided that the side-by-side arrangement of belt drum 11 and recessed grip 2 and the arrangement of the belt clamping device 6 on the side facing the roller shutter in the belt direction the recessed grip 2 remains intact.
