Description

The invention relates to a sheet smoothing device in the feed area of a sheet processing machine according to the preamble of the first claim for protection.

A sheet smoothing device is known from DE-C 3 521 590. Above the lay-on sheet, a bar can be moved up and down transversely to the direction of the sheet inlet in the area of the gripper edge of the sheet which is raised by a control device each time the sheet is pulled off by the pre-grippers and approximately smooth again to smooth the gripper edge of the next sheet Bow is lowered. The disadvantage here is that the rigid beam can not be lowered directly onto the next sheet, because otherwise the sheet entry is hindered.

From DE-C 3 520 147 a sheet smoothing device in the feed area of a sheet-processing machine is known, in which a hold-down device for smoothing and stretching holding down the sheets on the transport plane is provided, which is designed as a smoothing roller, which is transverse to the sheet conveying direction Axle extending transport plane is freely rotatable and is mounted approximately vertically movable away from the transport plane. The fact that the smoothing roller runs freely lying on the sheet prevents damage to a pressure already applied to the sheet. A disadvantage of this device is that the smooth roller that is constantly in contact makes it difficult to separate the sheet that is being drawn off from the next sheet. There is a risk that, as a result of electrostatic charging, the subsequent sheet below will be pulled upwards in part or over the entire width. This would adversely affect the flatness of the newly arriving sheet at its leading edge.

The invention has for its object to provide a sheet smoothing device on the contact sheet of a sheet-processing machine of the type mentioned, which makes it possible that neither the alignment process nor the running of the sheet into the machine are affected.

This problem is solved according to the characterizing part of the first claim. Further developments result from the subclaims in connection with the drawing and the description. In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown in one embodiment.

The sheet smoothing device according to the invention is used in conventional sheet feeders. According to FIGS. 1 and 2, there is a contact sheet 1 on which the sheets 2 to be fed to the sheet-processing machine are fed. A smoothing brush 3, which can be swiveled up and down, is arranged transversely to the feed direction above the contact plate 1 or the sheet 2 fed thereon. The bristles 20 of the smoothing brush 3 are preferably directed at an angle obliquely downwards onto the contact plate 1. On the brush body 18 of the smoothing brush 3, which extends over the entire width of the contact plate 1, two arms 13 are fastened at a distance from one another in the direction of the sheet travel, which arms 13 are rotatably mounted with the smoothing brush 3 about an axis of rotation 14 extending transversely to the direction of the sheet travel. For this purpose, pins are provided on the arms 13, which are rotatably received in holders 19 arranged fixed to the frame. These are received on the machine side wall 4 of the sheet-processing machine in a crossmember 6, which is fastened in bearing plates 5. The two arms 13 are each assigned a spring rod 16 which is connected in the joint 15 to the end of the respective arm 13. The spring rod 16 is supported on a support plate 17 which is connected to the holders 19. The spring rod 16 is pressed up under spring pressure. As a result, the smoothing brush 3 is pushed with the bristles 20 downward in the direction of the contact plate 1 onto the sheet 2 located thereon. The swiveling path of the smoothing brush 3 downwards and thus the contact pressure of the bristles 20 on the bow 2 is by an adjusting nut 21 of the spring rod 16 depending on the properties, e.g. Thickness of the arch 2, adjustable. To prevent electrostatic charging, the bristles should have 20 natural hair, e.g. have machine-combed horsehair. About a device controlled by compressed air, which consists of a compressed air source, not shown, control valve 7 with compressed air connection 8 and a compressed air cylinder 10 with pressure piece 11 and acts against the pressure of the spring rod 16 on a shoulder 12 of the arms 13, the smooth brush 3 is under pressure " Lifted off "from sheet 2. When the pressure is "on", the smoothing brush 3 lowers again onto the sheet 2. The compressed air cylinder 10 is fastened to the crossmember 6 by means of a foldable clamping device 9.

The particular advantage of the invention is that after pulling the side mark the sheet can be fed straight and without prancing to the impression cylinder, even if thin, wave-forming paper is used as the material. It helps to improve the quality of the print with regard to doubling, especially with thin print media.
