Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a roller skate comprising on the front and rear axles a suspension system.
  • skates of the type provided with a shoe fixed on a sole, which is integral with a plate provided at the front with a buffer acting as a brake and undercarriages front and rear consisting of two wheels, a fixed axle and wheel steering systems.
  • These wheel steering systems are activated by the force exerted by the weight of the skater, in relation to the position of this force relative to the longitudinal axis of the skate.
  • These steering systems are generally made up of elastic washers secured to the fixed axle by nuts and locknuts, in order to allow articulation and orientation movement of the fixed axle.
  • Document FR-A-1 489 079 describes in particular a roller skate secured to a plate and comprising front and rear undercarriages, a wheel steering system - and an axle.
  • the front and rear axles are movable and fitted with a suspension system comprising a base and a rocker.
  • the base is provided with two orifices intended to receive respectively a fixing pin and the end of a pivot.
  • the rocker is integral with the axle and comprises at one of its ends a plate in the form of a cup in the concave part of which abuts an elastic tubular damper threaded on the fixing axis.
  • a washer-pin assembly makes it possible to secure the suspension system in the hole in the base.
  • this elastic steering system does not act as a shock absorber and suspension when the skate passes over an obstacle. It is therefore necessary to provide a structure dissociating the two functions.
  • the object of the invention is to remedy this drawback by introducing a suspension system at the axles of a skate, which will be made mobile.
  • the purpose of the suspension system is, on the one hand, to avoid the roller skate, to the greatest extent possible, shocks and vibrations from the unevenness of the skating surface and, on the other hand, to ensure maximum comfort for the skater when skating.
  • roller skate of the type comprising, a shoe fixed on a sole secured to a plate and comprising a brake fixed at the front of the plate and comprising front and rear undercarriages equipped with two wheels, a wheel steering system and an axle.
  • the invention essentially consists in providing movable front and rear axles, provided with a suspension system, this being fixed on the one hand, in the central part of the movable axle , in line with the wheel axle and on the other hand, is guided by a centering barrel placed in the plate; these mobile axles are also equipped with a wheel steering system, fixed at one end in the plate by pivoting means while the other end is secured to the orientation plate of the mobile axle by elastic means.
  • the roller skate shown in FIG. 1, comprises a shoe (1) fixed on a sole (2), integral with a plate (3) and comprising a brake or buffer (4), fixed in front of the plate and comprises front (5) and rear (5 ⁇ ) undercarriages, equipped with two wheels (6 or 6 ⁇ ), a steering system (7 and 7 ⁇ ) of the wheels and a movable axle (8 and 8 ⁇ ).
  • the rear axle shown in FIG. 2 clearly shows a movable axle (8 ⁇ ), provided with a suspension system (9 ⁇ ), this being fixed on the one hand, in the central part (10 ⁇ ) of the axle mobile, in line with the wheel axle (6 ⁇ ) and on the other hand, is guided by a centering barrel (17) placed in the plate (3), the mobile axle (8 ⁇ ) is equipped with a steering system (7 ⁇ ), fixed to one end of the plate by pivoting means (11 ⁇ ), while the other end is secured to the orientation plate (12 ⁇ ) by elastic means consisting of two washers in rubber (13 or 13 ⁇ ).
  • the suspension system of the front axle is of the same principle as that of the rear axle, shown in Figure 2.
  • the suspension system consists of a spring (15) as well as a centering finger (34), which, by one end, is screwed into the central part (10 ⁇ ) of the movable axle (8 ⁇ ), while that the other end is extended by a rod (16), guided by the interior of the centering barrel (17), while the spring is guided by the top thanks or diameter of this barrel.
  • the spring (15) is chosen according to its stiffness, depending on the weight of the skate user.
  • the centering barrel (17) of the suspension system (9 ⁇ ) opens down into a cavity (30) and is crossed by a bore (31), of an ablong shape, which extends into the sole (2).
  • the width of the oblong bore (31) is substantially equivalent to the diameter of the rod (16).
  • the centering barrel is made of a self-lubricating material in order to allow the rod (16) of the centering finger (34) to slide freely in the oblong bore (31) of the barrel.
  • the operating principle of the suspension system is as follows: When the rear wheels (6 ⁇ ) of the skate encounter any obstacle, they will tend to move up and towards the rear of the skate in order to stress the suspension system ( 9 ⁇ ). This vertical movement of the wheels will cause a pivoting movement of the movable axle (8 ⁇ ) relative to the pivot axis (11). Approaching the plate (3), the movable axle puts stress on the suspension system (9 ⁇ ). The spring (15) will be crushed and will act as a shock absorber. The rod (16) of the centering finger (34) penetrates into the bore (31) of the centering barrel (17).
  • the steering system (7 ⁇ ) of the wheels is arranged in front of the suspension system.
  • the rear movable axle (8 ⁇ ) comprises a steering system (7 ⁇ ) of the wheels whose upper end, integral with the plate (3) consists of a pivot axis (11 ⁇ ) and a pivot (18), of cylindrical shape, introduced into a cavity (32) of the plate (3), the parallel end surfaces of the pivot being in close contact with the corresponding surfaces of this cavity (32).
  • the steering system comprises an articulated arm (21), two elastic washers (13 ⁇ ) and a lock nut (14 ⁇ ).
  • a pad (19) is provided to dampen the return of the articulated arm (21 ⁇ ) against an insert (20).
  • This insert on the lower part of the plate (3) is provided, at its two ends, with a bolt (19) which absorbs the shock after return of the articulated arm (21 ⁇ or 21).
  • the front axle shown in Figure 3 shows the steering system (7) in a partial section AA.
  • the suspension system is not shown, which is of the same design as for the rear undercarriage of the skate (see Figure 2).
  • the steering system (7) of the wheels is arranged behind the suspension system (see Figure 1).
  • the front movable axle (8) comprises a steering system (7) for the wheels, the upper part of which, integral with the plate (3), consists of two pivot axes (25), of a yoke (22), in the shape of a "U", the two parallel wings of which are in close contact with the respective external surfaces of the plate, these two wings of the yoke being provided with two oblong openings (33) which, in relation to the two axes (25), provide a vertical movement movement of the steering system.
  • the operating principle of the front suspension system is as follows: When the front wheels (6) of the skate encounter any obstacle, they tend to move upwards, in order to stress the suspension system (9). The movement of the wheels, and therefore of the front mobile axle, is done upwards but also backwards.
  • the suspension system (9) will normally be stressed, however, to obtain a slight pivoting movement of the movable axle (8) relative to the pivoting means (11), it is necessary to have a steering system ( 7) whose upper end, integral with the plate (3), is equipped with a flexible pivoting means.
  • the upper part of the steering system is equipped with a yoke (22), in the shape of a "U", the two parallel wings of which, surrounding the plate (3), are provided with two oblong openings (33). . These openings are crossed by two axes (25), in order to provide a flexible means of pivoting of the steering system.
  • a return spring (27) allows the screed (22) to return to position after the obstacle has passed.
