Description

The invention relates to a transport unit that can be moved on rails for the transport of heavy loads with two multi-axis bogies and a frame which is connected to the two bogies by means of an articulated connection each having a pivoting socket and a pivot.

For the transport of heavy loads on tracks, low-loader wagons are generally used. B. can have up to twelve axes and a permissible load capacity of up to approximately 150 t. Low loader wagons of this size would be required to accommodate heavy transport containers, such as are required for the transport of radioactive material, for example radioactive waste or fuel rods to be reprocessed. Such containers are relatively small. However, due to the required wall thicknesses, they have a large weight, which, including a loading frame for the container, which also serves for handling the container, is of the order of 150 t, the weight of the goods to be picked up from the container only playing a subordinate role.

The possible transportation of such containers, including the loading frame, on a conventional railway flatbed wagon is associated with considerable difficulties. These are due in particular to the fact that, due to the length of the low-loader wagon in question, the loading dimensions are exceeded, at least in certain areas, by the Transport unit, ie the flatbed wagon, to be driven through, remain unavoidable. In any case, this would have the consequence that such a transport unit can only be carried out if special measures are taken, for example blocking the opposite track. It is not possible to transport such a flatbed wagon as a regular train. Possibly. the given vehicle limitation profiles even make such transports completely impossible. The use of shorter flat-bed wagons, which could at least noticeably reduce the exceeding of the loading dimensions, is out of the question for reasons of weight, since the wheelset load should generally not exceed 22.5 t. Shorter low-loader wagons have fewer axles, so that the permissible axle load would be exceeded with the load weight of approximately 150 t that is considered.

Accordingly, the object of the invention is to design a transport unit of the type described in the introduction in such a way that the difficulties described above are at least significantly reduced. In particular, it should be possible to shorten the length of the transport unit in such a way that loading dimensions are no longer exceeded or at least do not occur to such an extent that the transport of the transport unit on the regular train is excluded. In addition, efforts are being made to reduce the weight of the transport unit in such a way that the permissible axle load can be maintained without difficulty. The transport unit should be able to be put together using conventional, existing or necessary means. It should be possible to adapt flexibly to different loads, in particular also with regard to the length of the same.

To achieve this object, the invention proposes that the frame connecting the two bogies is designed as a loading frame of a lockable transport container which receives the goods to be transported, for example the aforementioned fuel rods or other radioactive material.

Since the relatively small-volume container that is transported horizontally has a length that is noticeably less than the pivot distance of large flat-bed wagons, the resulting transport unit has a considerably shorter length than a flat-bed wagon required for the high weight, so that loading dimensions can be avoided. In addition, the omission of the bridge of the flatbed truck leads to a considerable reduction in weight of the transport unit, which contributes to a reduction in the axle load. The transmission of the tensile and braking forces between the two wheelsets of the transport unit takes place via the loading frame, which, due to the high weight of the transport container that has to be absorbed by it, must be made so resistant that it is able to withstand the additional loads due to the transport, i.e. for example transmission of tensile and braking forces, is able to absorb easily. Possibly. Measures required to adapt to the additional functions to be taken over by the loading frame do not represent any significant additional effort.

The essence of the invention can thus be summarized in that the load, that is to say essentially a transport container with contents, is supported directly on the bogies via the loading frame, so that these components essentially form the transport unit. The loading frame has the parts required for the connection to the two bogies. According to a further proposal of the invention, it is advantageous to attach the rotary pans to the loading frame and the pivot to the respective bogie. This ensures that no parts protruding downwards are attached to the loading frame. The rotary pan can be attached to the loading frame as a correspondingly limited recess or the like, in which, in the assembled state of the components forming the transport unit, the associated bearing pin supported by the respective rotating frame, which can also be designed as a ball or otherwise, engages .

According to a further proposal of the invention, the loading frame can protrude parallel to the longitudinal course of the transport unit at both ends of the transport container, the rotating pans being attached to the end regions of the loading frame projecting above the transport container. The areas of the loading frame projecting above the transport container can be used to hold covers and shock absorbers, which prevent shocks occurring during maneuvering, for example, from being transmitted directly to the container.

In addition, it may be appropriate to make the length of the loading frame adjustable. It can be done, for example, in such a way that the longitudinal members of the loading frame are designed to be telescopically adjustable. This allows a flexible adaptation to different container sizes, so that the two bogies of the transport unit can have the smallest possible distance from each other. In addition, a further advantage of the invention is that it allows the use of conventional bogies without further ado. The handling of the container with the loading frame receiving it is not influenced by the application of the teaching according to the invention. The loading frame with the container is removed from the bogies in the same way using a suitable loading gear and put back on the bogies in the same way as has been the case up to now with low-loader wagons. It is only important to ensure that the two bogies are at the correct distance from each other when they are replaced. However, this does not require any complex measures.

Moreover, the transport container can be pivoted about a horizontal position in the loading frame even when using the teaching that it can be pivoted from a transport position in which its longitudinal axis is substantially horizontal to a position in which its longitudinal axis is substantially perpendicular . In this vertical position, the loading and unloading of the container is generally carried out, the end face of which is provided with an opening which can be closed by a lid or otherwise in a suitable manner.
