Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an indicator lamp, which is preferably embedded in building materials such as concrete or the like. And consists of several lighting elements, each of the lighting elements comprising at least one light source which is embedded in a translucent resin so that at least the upper surface of the resin is a luminous surface forms.
From DE-OS 33 27 110 an indicator lamp of the aforementioned type is known, in which the lighting elements are embedded in a block so that the upper, flat surface of the lighting elements is flush with the top of the block. This block can be used as a display device for streets, buildings, etc., and is installed so that its surface is flush with the surface of the street or the like.
However, it is very troublesome to let the individual lighting elements into the block and to connect them to one another by means of cables. If the material of the block or the like is electrically conductive, the electrically conductive regions of the lighting element to be let in, which are not covered with insulating resin, and the lines for the electrical connection of the lighting element must also be electrically insulated.
The invention has for its object to provide an indicator lamp of the type mentioned, which is extremely flexible. Furthermore, a simple method for producing the indicator lamp according to the invention is to be specified.
According to the invention, it is therefore provided that the indicator lamp is in the form of a cord, with adjacent lighting elements each being mechanically and electrically connected to one another by electrically insulated, flexible lines of a predetermined length, and that the lower side and at least one region of the side wall of each lighting element adjoining the lower side is covered with a jacket of insulating material.
After in the case of the display lamp according to the invention a plurality of lighting elements are mechanically and electrically connected to one another by means of flexible, cord-like lines, the display lamps according to the invention can be configured in a wide variety of configurations with the desired number of lighting elements, with the desired distance between the individual lighting elements, in the direction the cord-shaped indicator lamp can vary as desired, and can be embedded in the desired line shape in the respective component. Because of the flexibility of the indicator lamp according to the invention, it can be embedded in the component even in the case of a curved or uneven surface in such a way that the lighting elements are flush with the surface or protrude therefrom by a predetermined or respectively the same distance.
After all the electrically conductive outer areas of the lighting elements, including the connection areas, are covered with a jacket made of electrically insulating material, the indicator lamp according to the invention can also be embedded without risk, for example, in water-containing cement concrete or in other electrically conductive composite materials.
According to further advantageous features of the invention, it is provided that the upper area of the side wall of the lighting elements is not covered with the jacket made of insulating material, a step being formed between the upper area of the side wall of the lighting elements and the jacket made of electrically insulating material. This level makes it possible to place a form of form from above on a plurality of lighting elements and to let them together into one object.

The
The method for producing the indicator lamp according to the invention is explained below with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5.
As can be seen from Fig. 3, on a
Each of the lighting elements 1 is then reversed into the
