    • B65D50/046Closures with means for discouraging unauthorised opening or removal thereof, with or without indicating means, e.g. child-proof closures openable or removable by the combination of plural actions requiring the combination of simultaneous actions, e.g. depressing and turning, lifting and turning, maintaining a part and turning another one where one action elastically deforms or deflects at least part of the closure, the container or an intermediate element, e.g. a ring and such deformation causes the disengagement of locking means, e.g. the release of a pawl-like element from a tooth or abutment, to allow removal of the closure by simultaneous rotation

Definitions

  • the invention relates to a child-resistant drum cover of a large package designed as a cylindrical drum for receiving powdery or free-flowing product.
  • the drum-shaped large packs include round drums, buckets, barrels and the like with a circular cross-section.
  • Childproof lids for smaller containers e.g. B. packaging for pharmaceuticals or household chemicals, which have a relatively small, secure discharge opening, are in the closure area because of the use of mechanically stable material, eg. B. glass, metal or hard plastic, and / or because of the relatively small opening cross-section dimensionally stable.
  • the child lock can therefore be constructed using the dimensional stability. In general, this is not readily possible with large packs for household needs, which are usually made of cardboard or similar flexible material. Such large packs can, however, be strongly acidic or alkaline products, e.g. B. dishwasher cleaner, directly or additionally sealed in a plastic bag, which must be secured against access by children at risk of age.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a child-resistant closure for the lid of a drum-shaped large household pack, which is economically producible, does not require any changes in the filling line, is designed and operated independently of the presence of a handle and is simple for the user handling that does not require any significant effort.
  • the solution according to the invention for the drum cover mentioned at the outset is that it consists of a cover ring which cannot be detached from the edge of the opening of the drum to be closed and a cover disk which is loosely fitted therein, that the cover ring has a peripheral support edge on its inner periphery that on the inner periphery at a distance corresponding to the thickness of the cover plate from the support edge on the side facing away from the inside of the drum, at least two undercut segments are spaced apart and that the cover plate has essentially congruent recesses or segment projections on its circumference with the undercut segments.
  • the invention accordingly provides a cover for a drum consisting of a cover ring and a cover plate, the cover ring being connected to the drum, and the cover plate inside the cover ring, optionally under Actuation of child safety elements provided there is rotatable.
  • the support edge which can also be referred to as an end face support tape, preferably has a partial cut-out, preferably at an area of more than 90 °, which ends in a quarter curve at one end and at the other End of a spring segment with a button;
  • the cover disk is provided in a recess with an actuation hole which has approximately the same diameter as the button and can be made to coincide with the button by rotating the disk. The mutual assignment is provided so that when the cover is closed, the button equipped with a spring segment snaps into the actuating hole of the cover plate.
  • the cover plate can therefore only be removed from the cover ring or the closed drum if the button is first pressed in and then the plate is rotated until its recesses on the circumference come to coincide with the undercut segments of the cover ring.
  • the childproof lock is accordingly provided in the simplest design of the drum cover in that, before the cover plate is lifted from its support in the cover ring, it must be rotated by a very specific angle relative to the ring.
  • the child safety device according to a further invention is further improved in that the rotation is only possible if the actuation button, which normally excludes the rotation, is depressed beforehand.
  • undercut segments In order to prevent the cover plate from lifting off the cover ring without first turning the cover plate into the open position, there are at least two diametrically opposite undercut segments the cover ring and this corresponding segment projections between two recesses on the edge of the cover plate required.
  • the undercut segments and the recesses would then be offset from one another by approximately 90 ° and would likewise each extend over approximately 90 °.
  • the cover ring has three undercut segments arranged offset by approximately 120 ° and if the undercut segments each extend over 60 °.
  • the cover plate should then have three recesses likewise arranged at 120 ° and corresponding segment projections, the segment projections then extending over a little less than 60 ° of the cover plate circumference.
  • the support edges are significantly wider in the radial direction, for. B. by a factor of 5 when the undercut segments are made.
  • a cover ring generally designated 1, with three undercut segments 2 formed on its inner periphery is shown schematically.
  • the undercut segments 2 are arranged offset by 120 ° and each extend over 60 °.
  • Two of the undercut segments each have a one-sided stop at one longitudinal end 3.
  • the cover ring 1 also includes a peripheral edge 4 on the inner ring periphery, which has a partial recess 5 in a region of somewhat more than 90 °.
  • the partial recess 5 ends at one end in a quarter-circle arc 6 and surrounds a spring segment with a button 8 in the area of the other end.
  • a cover plate 9 which has three segment projections 10 arranged offset at 120 ° between two recesses 11 of their circumference.
  • the segment projections 10 each extend over a little less than 60 °.
  • an actuation hole 12 is provided on the same cover diameter as the button 8 of FIG. 1, the diameter of which corresponds approximately to that of the button 8.
  • the cover disk 9 When used to close a drum (not shown) the cover disk 9 is inserted into the cover ring in such a way that the arrow 13 shown in FIG. 4 is opposite the arrow 14 bearing the designation "UP" in FIG.
  • the cover ring 1 then lies on the support edge 4.
  • the segment projections 9 slide into the undercut segments 2 until they abut the stops 3 and until the button 8 engages in the actuation hole 12.
  • the entry of the button 8 into the actuation hole 12 can be made audible by a spring bias.
  • the cover plate 9 After this latching of the button 8 in the actuating hole 12, the cover plate 9 is secured against any further rotation, closing on all sides on the contact edge 4 of the cover ring 1.
  • the pack can still be easily opened with just one finger.
  • the button 8 is depressed through the actuating hole 12, at the same time the cover plate 9 is unlocked to the left up to the "OPEN" mark. It can then be lifted with the fingertip.
