Abstract

Napped fibre brush for cleaning textile fabrics, consisting of a support which is provided with a synthetic napped fibre covering such as nylon velour for example, with napped fibres oriented in one direction, in which brush the napped fibre covering extends in a direction perpendicular to the (customary) direction of use, and the covering parts (2, 3) are applied to the support (1) with their nap oriented in a mutually opposed (inward) direction. Between the covering parts, (2, 3) in a zone which has no napped fibre covering, in which is located a grooved insert (4) made of plastic and serving to collect the particles of dirt which have been brushed off.

Description

The invention relates to a pile fiber brush for cleaning textile fabrics, consisting of a carrier which is provided with a synthetic pile fiber covering made of, for example, nylon velor and has a central zone which is not provided with pile fiber covering, the covering being arranged on the carrier with an orientation directed towards the central zone is.

Pile fiber brushes of the type described above have proven themselves well in that they show an excellent cleaning effect due to the one-sided orientation of the pile when moving against the pile fiber direction, the lint or. Dust particles are not brushed into the environment with dusting but are picked up by the pile fiber brush. Here, the effect only occurs when the brush is moved in the specified, i.e. against the direction of the pile fibers, so that after each movement the brush has to be lifted and returned, whereby work is required in particular for left-handers against their naturally predetermined direction of movement. In addition, the absorbed dirt components accumulate in the pile fiber to form larger flakes and in this way, after a short time due to overloading of the pile fiber covering, back soiling, i.e. the brushed parts are transferred back to the tissue to be cleaned. It is therefore necessary to clean the brush frequently while working, which is relatively difficult due to the high retention force of the pile fiber covering.

It is known from DES-OS 21 00 465 a pile fiber brush of the type described, which is integrated in a housing. forms part of a housing which serves both as a scraper and as a dirt trap and serves to accommodate a mechanical sweeping device or the connection of an induced draft fan. The known brush is not suitable for use as an independent device but can only perform a function in connection with the mechanical or pneumatic device. In addition, it is complex and therefore expensive and, at least insofar as it is part of a mechanical sweeping device, does not lead to a satisfactory cleaning result either because the dirt absorbed by the covering is at least for the most part already during the reciprocating movement of the roller body during Entry into the housing is stripped at the scraper edge and falls back on the surface to be cleaned.

The present invention has for its object to provide a pile fiber brush of the type described, with the help of a perfect cleaning of the treated tissue and safe absorption of the dirt is possible regardless of the direction of movement of the brush. The invention consists in that the discontinuous zone, not provided with pile fiber covering, with a groove-like depression, e.g. made of plastic as a collecting container for the brushed dirt parts.

By means of the invention, a pile fiber brush is created, with the help of which a direction-independent cleaning of textile fabrics is possible due to the division with the release of a medium pile, not provided with pile fiber covering and an arrangement of the covering parts with a pile orientation pointing towards the unoccupied zone, and which therefore without interruption of the movement can be used by left-handed as well as right-handed people with equally good results. During the reciprocating cleaning movement, the dust and lint parts are picked up by the tissue on both sides when moving against the pile orientation, and transported inward with the pile orientation in the middle zone, where they collect and can be easily removed.

  • Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach A-A durch Fig. 1.
Further embodiments and advantages emerge from the following description, in which the invention is explained, for example, with reference to the accompanying drawing. Show it
  • Fig. 1 shows a top view of the brush
  • 2 shows a section along AA through FIG. 1.

The pile fiber brush shown in the drawing for cleaning textile fabrics consists of a carrier 1 which is provided with a synthetic pile fiber covering made of, for example, nylon velor with pile fibers oriented on one side, the pile fiber covering being divided along a direction perpendicular to the (customary) working direction and the covering parts 2, 3 are left on the carrier 1 with the release of an unoccupied central zone with a pile orientation pointing towards one another in the direction of the unoccupied central zone. In the unoccupied middle zone between the covering parts 2, 3 there is a groove-like depression 4, e.g. made of plastic as a collecting container for the brushed lint or dirt. In this way, the brush has a self-cleaning effect in that the dirt constituents are absorbed by the pile fiber fabric each time it moves against the pile fiber direction and are transported further towards the center of the brush when the brush moves in the pile fiber direction until they settle in between the covering parts 2 , 3 lying gutter-like recess 4 and can be removed by a simple finger pull. By arranging a deeper channel, the receiving space is enlarged accordingly, so that removal of dirt is only necessary in larger intervals.

To clean a fabric, the brush is moved back and forth on the handle in a manner that is customary in its function in a direction approximately perpendicular to its longitudinal extension, with one of the covering parts 2 and 3 dirt parts being picked up in both directions of movement due to the inward facing orientation of the pile fibers and at Movement in the opposite direction to the center are transported until they accumulate in the central zone in the channel 4. The accumulated dirt can be removed from the gutter 4 from time to time. The risk of re-soiling of the tissue to be cleaned is largely avoided.
