Abstract

In order to obtain a rolled material of advantageous structure and therefore improved mechanical properties in a merchant or intermediate mill, the finishing set of the merchant or intermediate mill and/or a finishing group formed by the last stands of the finishing set is preceded by at least one water-cooling zone.
