Description

The invention relates to a suction hood for removing suspended matter from a treatment room for components, in particular from an open-top immersion bath with at least one chamber with a treatment liquid which develops dangerous gases or vapors, the hood at least one lateral passage for those to be immersed in the chamber by means of a lifting device Has components.

Such a known hood consists of an essentially elongated, housing-like structure, the relatively small and opposite end walls, the elongated rear wall and the top wall of which are closed. While the top wall has a suction nozzle, the elongated front wall of the hood is designed so that the front of the hood has a loading opening. The suction hood designed in this way is placed on an immersion bath, which has at least one chamber with a treatment liquid for immersion contains components to be treated. The treatment liquid, which can be, for example, a chemical for producing a high-gloss surface on the components, for example on sheet metal, secretes toxic gases, for example nitrous gases or chlorinated hydrocarbons, which are sucked off by means of a suction blower over the hood's suction nozzle.

Since the loading opening on the front of the suction hood is very large and not sealed, a very strong suction fan with a correspondingly high suction power is required in order to substantially prevent an uncontrolled escape of toxic gases, vapors or the like to protect operating personnel. It is understandable that in the case of large components, in particular large sheets, despite a strong suction fan, toxic gases etc. can still escape through the large loading opening and thus endanger the operating personnel. Another disadvantage is that the overall length of the immersion bath is limited, because otherwise a fan with an even greater suction power would be required, which is no longer economical.

The object of the invention is to improve a suction hood of the type mentioned in such a way that a complete suction of dangerous and / or undesirable suspended matter from the treatment room for the components is guaranteed, that a suction fan with a comparatively reduced suction power can be used and that the treatment rooms can have a greater overall length than before, without the need for an inefficient suction fan.

The solution is based on the introductory suction hood and is characterized in that at least one longitudinal slot is provided in the upper wall of the suction hood for the passage of lifting ropes or the like of the hoist, that the longitudinal slot and the lateral passage lie in a common, vertical plane and that the side passage merges into the longitudinal slot without interruption.

In a preferred embodiment of the suction hood according to the invention, two side slots, spaced apart from one another and perpendicular to the longitudinal slot and matched to the thickness of the lifting cables of the hoist, preferably extend from each side of the longitudinal slot, the side slots on one side being aligned with the side slots on the other side of the longitudinal slot. The lateral passage is at least essentially closed by means of flexible, self-closing sealing means, wherein the sealing means can consist of two door leaves, preferably made of flexible material, which otherwise at least partially form the corresponding end wall of the hood.

Due to the design of the suction hood according to the invention, only a small air inlet area remains in the area of the lateral passage and the longitudinal slot for the entry of air into the hood when suctioning out the undesirable toxic gases, vapors or the like below the hood, without the introduction and removal of the components , which can also have larger dimensions than hitherto, in or out of the immersion bath is obstructed in any way. The components hanging on the lifting ropes, for example of a crane, can be conveniently moved from the front to the suction hood in a horizontal direction retracted and then subjected to the immersion treatment by lowering and moving in one or more immersion baths and then raised again and moved out of the hood. During this entire treatment process, the resulting gases, vapors or the like are completely and safely discharged by means of a suction blower with a significantly lower suction power than before, since the aforementioned, reduced air inlet surface ensures the vacuum in the interior of the hood, which is necessary for effective suction of the gases, etc., the required negative pressure is understandably also lower than before. The advantages mentioned lead to an increase in the performance of the system consisting of the immersion bath and the suction hood. The proposed design of the suction hood is structurally simple and can therefore be implemented very inexpensively. Another advantage of the solution according to the invention is that, of course, a greater length of the immersion baths than previously is understandably possible, so that very long components, for example sheets or rods, can be treated on the surface.

The invention is explained below with reference to an embodiment shown in the accompanying drawings. In a schematic representation:
  • FIG. 1 shows a side view of the exemplary embodiment,
  • FIG. 2 shows a top view of the exemplary embodiment,
  • FIG. 3 shows a sectional illustration along the line III-III in FIG. 2,
  • Figure 4 is an end view according to arrow IV in Figure 1.

According to Figure 1, the suction hood generally designated 1 consists of a housing of rectangular shape with the two opposite end walls 2 and 3, the two opposite longitudinal walls 4 and 5 and the top wall 6. Below the suction hood 1 is completely open. The material for making the hood is preferably fiber reinforced plastic, e.g. GRP reinforced with iron reinforcement 7 or stainless steel. The suction hood 1 is placed on an open top bath, generally designated 8, e.g. loosely placed and is supported by support bodies 9. The immersion bath 8 consists of a tub 10 with, for example, three chambers 11, 12 and 13 (FIG. 4) and from the usual treatment liquids contained in the chambers for the surface treatment of components, such as e.g. Sheets that are treated by immersion in the liquids in the chambers. A surface treatment, for example, consists in producing a high-gloss surface on the components by chemical means. For this purpose, liquids are used which, when immersed in and withdrawing the components from the liquid producing the high-gloss surface, contain toxic gases, mists and / or vapors, e.g. Generate nitrous gases or chlorinated hydrocarbons, or the like, which float above the chambers and are dangerous for the operator of the immersion belt system and must therefore be extracted.

The upper wall 6 of the suction hood 1 has at least one longitudinal slot 14 which runs in the longitudinal center of the upper wall, from which one end wall 2 extends and extends in the direction of the opposite end wall 3 essentially over the length of the upper wall 6. There are also four secondary slots 15, 16, 17 and 18 are provided which extend laterally from the longitudinal slot, two secondary slots being located on each side of the longitudinal slot. The secondary slots preferably run perpendicular to the longitudinal slot and are at a distance from one another, the two secondary slots on one side of the longitudinal slot being aligned with those on the other side of the longitudinal slot.

The end wall 2 of the suction hood 1 is constructed as a side passage 19, for example in that there is no rigid wall and instead the hood is provided with flexible, self-closing sealing means 20 at this point. The sealing means can consist, for example, of two pivotable door leaves 21, 22 made of flexible material, for example acrylic glass, the normal position of which forms an at least substantially closed end wall. In an alternative design of the side passage 19, it is also possible for the door leaves 21, 22 to make up only a partial area of the end wall 2 of the suction hood 1, so that the remaining area of the end wall 2 is designed as a rigid end wall. Which width is selected for the door leaf ultimately depends on the width of the components to be treated, which must be passed through the side passage 19. Furthermore, other resilient and self-closing sealing means can be selected instead of the pivotable door leaf, as is also possible that a small air gap can remain between the two door leaves or the alternative sealing means. It is important, however, that the lateral passage 19 and the longitudinal slot 14 lie in a common vertical plane and that the lateral passage is uninterrupted in the longitudinal slot passes over, so that the components to be treated can be inserted freely in the horizontal direction into the suction hood, as will become clear.

The width of the longitudinal slot 14 as well as the width of the secondary slots 15 to 18 is relatively small and generally only dimensioned so wide that the lifting ropes 23 of a hoist e.g. of a crane, not shown further, can be guided along in the slots, since the components and the holding means 24 of the lifting cables can be guided in and out through the lateral passage 19 into the interior of the suction hood 1. The width of the slots therefore only needs to be matched to the thickness of the lifting ropes or the like.

In order to facilitate the entry of the lifting ropes 23 or the like from the longitudinal slot 14 into the secondary slots 15 to 18, extensions are provided at the meeting points of the slots, as indicated by 25 on the left in FIG.

In the further development of the suction hood 1, the longitudinal slot 14 can also be continued up to the other end wall 3, as is indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 2. In this case, this end wall is also designed as a further lateral passage 26 which, for example, can also be equipped with pivotable door leaves 27, 28 of the type described above as a sealing means. When using such a suction hood, the component to be treated is led in through the first-mentioned passage 19 and out again through the other passage 26.

The suction hood 1 is provided with at least one suction channel, which is preferably on the inside the hood is arranged. Preferably, two longitudinal suction channels 29 and 30 are provided on the inside of the hood top wall 6, parallel to each other and to the longitudinal slot 14 and adjacent to the longitudinal walls 4 and 5, which extend at least approximately to the entire length of the wall 6. The channels are provided with a plurality of suction slits 31 inside the hood, while they are provided outside the hood with connecting pieces 32 for a suction fan.

If the other lateral passage 26 of the suction hood and the elongated longitudinal slot 14 are dispensed with, the procedure can be such that the two inner suction channels 29, 30 are connected to one another by an intermediate channel 36 at the end, one of the two connecting pieces 32 then also being omitted.

At least one longitudinal wall 4 is preferably provided with a plurality of viewing windows 33, each window further being provided with an illumination device 34 for illuminating at least the treated components.

For treating the surface of a component, e.g. A sheet metal plate that is to receive a high-gloss surface chemically is operated as follows. It is assumed that the sheet metal plate is held by the holding tools 24 of the lifting ropes 23, the two lifting ropes 23 being spread apart by a cross member 35.

The sheet metal plate (not shown) held in this way becomes horizontal and by automatically pushing open the door leaves 20, 21 through the lateral passage 19 inserted into the interior of the suction hood 1, the lifting cables 23 entering the slot 14. The sheet metal plate is then immersed one after the other in the different liquids of the individual chambers 11, 12 and 13 of the tub 10, the lifting cables 23 also reaching the secondary slots 15 to 18 according to the position of the chambers. Finally, the lifting ropes are positioned in the longitudinal slot 14 and the treated sheet metal plate is led horizontally outwards either through the first-mentioned lateral passage 19 or through the other lateral passage 26, the corresponding door leaves being pushed open to the outside and then closing again.

The suction hood 1 described above is preferably used in the production of high-gloss surfaces by chemical means. The use of the hood is not limited to this; it can also be used in conjunction with other treatment rooms for surface treatment of components, e.g. in immersion baths for pickling, stripping, galvanizing, galvanizing etc. These baths generate gases, mists or vapors which are dangerous for the operator. The suction hood can also be used wherever, for example, dusts or the like arise during the surface treatment of components, e.g. in blasting and spraying chambers, where the resulting dusts or suspended matter are also extracted to achieve a pleasant workflow.
