Sie bestehen allerdings aus einem relativ dünnwandigen Blech, das zur Erhöhung der Stabilität mit einem umlaufenden aufgebördelten Rand versehen ist. Derartige Klemmplatten sind in der Lage, die auftretenden Klemmkräfte aufzunehmen. Der Quersteg, der zwischen den Klemmplatten angeordnet und zwischen diesen eingespannt ist, kann demgegenüber aus einem geringwertigen, jedoch korrosionsbeständigen Material bestehen.
