In den Figuren ist mit 1 die Dosierwalze, mit 2 die Beschichtungswalze und mit 3 die Auftragswalze eines Drei-Walzen-Beschichtungswerks bezeichnet, wobei zwischen der Dosierwalze 1 und der Zwischenwalze 2 ein Lack-Vorratsspalt 4 gebildet ist. In diesen Lack-Vorratsspalt wird durch eine Einlaufvorrichtung 5, vorzugsweise in Form eines Verteilerrohrs mit nach unten gerichteten Austrittsdüsen 6, das Beschichtungsmittel jeweils nachgefüllt, wobei nicht dargestellte Niveaufühler im Lack-Vorratsspalt die Zufuhr über die Düsen 6 steuern. Die drei Walzen 1 bis 3 sind im wesentlichen Y-förmig so übereinander versetzt angeordnet, daß die Achse der Zwischenwalze über der der Auftragswalze und die Achse der Dosierwalze 1 über der der Zwischenwalze 2 liegt derart, daß in Verbindung mit den Durchmessern der Walzen ein im wesentlichen vertikal nur nach unten verlaufender Lacktransport stattfindet. Zwischen der Zwischenwalze 2 und der Auftragswalze 3 kann ein weiterer Lack-Vorratsspalt 7 ausgebildet sein. Ob sich ein derartiger Lack-Vorratsspalt ausbildet oder nicht, hängt von dem jeweils verwendeten Lack, der Anstellung der Walzen gegeneinander, der Drehgeschwindigkeit und dem Ausmaß der Lackzufuhr über die Düsen 6 ab.In the figures, 1 denotes the metering roller, 2 the coating roller and 3 the application roller of a three-roller coating unit, a lacquer supply gap 4 being formed between the metering roller 1 and the intermediate roller 2. Claims (9)

1. Three-roller coating device for lacquering machines, for the coating of rails or arches with one coat of highly viscous coating agent, which coat may if required comprise uncoated areas, consisting of an intermediate roller (2) arranged between the applicator roller (3) and a dosing roller (1), a lacquer supply device, with a lacquer storage recess (4) formed between the dosing roller (1) and the intermediate roller (2) and arranged below a nozzle feeder device (5), and with a counter roller (9) to the applicator roller (3), characterised in that the rollers (1, 2, 3) are arranged in such a way that the vertical part of the direction of travel of the coating agent is directed downwards only on its entire journey from the lacquer storage recess (4) to the substrate.
2. Coating device according to claim 1, characterised in that a further lacquer storage recess (7) is formed between the intermediate roller (2) and the applicator roller (3).
3. Coating device according to claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the distances of the rollers from each other may be adjusted independently.
4. Coating device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized by a distributor roller (11), arranged between the substrate exit (10) and the recess (7) to the intermediate roller (2), which distributor roller may be brought into contact with the applicator roller.

Coating device according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised by a control and adjustment device for the positioning and release of the rollers (1, 2, 3, 9) and for the adjustment of the rev/min such that in the event of a defective arch or a machine stoppage, the applicator roller (3) is lifted off the counter roller (9) but contact is maintained with the intermediate roller (2).

8. Coating device according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the drive for the rollers is derived from the machine drive of the lacquering device and that in addition an accessory drive is provided to drive the rollers (1, 2, 3) in the event of a machine stoppage.
