Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a chamber dryer with the features in the preamble of the main claim.
Such a chamber dryer is known from CH-A 478 068. It has one or more housings which are open on one side and each hold at least one carrying device loaded with ceramic moldings. The chamber dryer also has drying units, which, however, are arranged inside the drying chamber or on the chamber walls.
Another chamber dryer is known from DE-C 969 589, in which drying units in the form of fans are arranged in a stationary manner.
In the previously known chamber dryers, the drying units take away the interior of the drying chamber and make it difficult to handle the drying racks. The known chamber dryers are also set up for larger standard batches and have a certain minimum size. The known large chamber dryers are uneconomical for drying small special batches, for example ceramic corner stones or special tile shapes.
Continuous-flow or channel dryers with differently air-conditioned zones through which the dry material migrates on trolleys are also known. Such dryers are also unsuitable for small special batches, since this would require considerable effort when changing the climate control.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to show an economical chamber dryer which is easy to load and is suitable for drying small batches under varying processing conditions.
The invention solves this problem with the features in the characterizing part of the main claim.
The chamber dryer according to the invention has the advantage that the arrangement of the drying units in a movable gate allows the housing, which is open on one side, to be loaded and unloaded quickly and easily. To do this, the carrying devices with the ceramic moldings are simply moved in and out.
The chamber dryer preferably consists of several, relatively small housings for one or two carrying devices. A common door with drying units can be provided for several housings. As a result, the equipment required for the entire chamber dryer is greatly reduced and its efficiency is immediately increased.
The advantages of easier loading also result if a movable gate with drying units is provided for each housing. For larger systems, however, it is advisable, for reasons of economy, to provide a row of housings next to one another with the same openings in the housing and, for example, to provide a gate that can be moved along the housing for two or three of these housings. The open housings can then also be used as storage spaces for the temporary storage of dry goods.
Since the carrying devices loaded with dry goods are generally designed as rail-bound carriages, it is advisable to move the gates hanging over a crane. To ensure a tight seal between the housing and the door, positioning devices are provided which guide the door through the crane when it is lowered. This guided movement also enables the arrangement of supply lines for heating gas, electricity and similar operating materials which are fixed on the housings and which are connected to the drying units in the door by a coupling when the door is closed.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from the subclaims.
- Fig. 2 : eine perspektivische Ansicht des Tores und
- 1: a plan view of a duct dryer with two housings and a gate,
- Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the gate and
- Fig. 3: a cross section through a chamber dryer with the gate just lowered.
Wenn die Gehäuse (2) linienförmig aufgereiht sind, gibt es auch keine feste Zuordnung zu den Toren (4), so daß auch zur gleichzeitigen Trocknung einer größeren Charge mehrere unmittelbar benachbarte Gehäuse (2) gleichzeitig von mehreren Toren (4) beaufschlagt werden, während die übrigen Gehäuse offen bleiben.1 shows a plan view of a chamber dryer (1) which consists of two housings (2) which are open on one side and lined up next to one another and a gate (4) with the drying units (5,6,7,8) which can be moved longitudinally in front of the housing openings (20) . In variation, a larger number of housings (2) and gates (4) can also be provided. If the housings (2) are lined up in a line, there is also no fixed assignment to the gates (4), so that several immediately adjacent housings (2) are simultaneously acted upon by several gates (4) for the simultaneous drying of a larger batch, while the remaining housings remain open.
The dry material, preferably ceramic moldings, is stored on carrying devices (3) in the form of rail-bound carriages, two of which fit next to each other in a housing (2). The size of the housing (2) and its capacity can be based on the smallest possible batch size that is just about to be processed economically. The carriages (3) are transported up via a schematically illustrated sliding platform (11) and loaded onto a rotating platform (10) which can be moved along the row of housings. From this rotating platform (10) they are brought into the housing (2) in the direction of the arrow by a loading and unloading device, not shown, and picked up again.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown, the chamber dryer (1) can also be part of a larger drying system. In figure (1), for example, a continuous dryer (12) is arranged on its rear side, which is also loaded with the same carriage (3) from the transfer table (11).
The continuous dryer (12) then serves for processing processing of the large, essentially constant batches of items to be dried, while the small special batches are dried in the chamber dryer (1). A different batch with different drying conditions can be processed in the chamber dryer (1) in each housing (2). Each housing can be air-conditioned differently when the door (4) is closed, by varying the temperature, humidity, flow speed, duration, etc. of the hot air.
The housings (2) are closed on all sides except for the front housing opening (20) and only have an exhaust duct (9) opposite the housing opening (20) on their upper side. After loading the housing (2), the gate (4) is advanced and closes the housing opening (20) airtight. The drying units are arranged in the gate (4) and consist of a heating unit (5) on the roof and one or more fans (6) which are connected to each other by a hot air duct (7). The fans (6) are preferably designed as rotary fans, which are controlled in their jet direction by means of shutters and blow the air essentially straight through the carriages (3). The fans (6) can, however, also be designed as movable fans or the like which vary their blowing direction. The control cabinet (8) is also located on the outside of the gate (4). The door (4) itself, like the housing (2), forms a box open on one side, in which the drying units are housed.
The gate (4) can be moved along the housing (2) using a crane (13). The crane runway is shown schematically in Figure (1). For the drying process, the housing (2) must be sealed airtight at its opening (20) by the gate (4). For this purpose, the gate (4) has a size corresponding to the housing opening (20) and is provided with a seal (16) running around the opening. In order to be able to position the gate (4) accordingly, two superimposed, obliquely upwardly projecting guide arms (14) are arranged on the housings (2) on both sides of the housing opening (20), which guide the gate (4) during the Guide the lowering movement on the side of the crane lifting gear (19). On the gate (4) itself, two pins (15) are arranged on each side, which come into contact with the guide arms (14) when lowering and at an angle as the gate (4) approaches the housing opening (20) on the guide arms (14) slide down. The pins (15) and the guide arms (14) thereby form a positioning device which enables the door (4) to be closed with a precise fit and to maintain the closing pressure and thus the seal.
The drying units can be supplied with resources such as heating gas for the heating unit (5), electricity for the fans (6) etc. via trailing lines. Likewise, it is also possible, according to FIG. 3, to supply the operating means via a stationary fixed line (18) on the top of each housing (2). The connection to the consumers at the gate (4) is established via a coupling (17), which is closed when the gate (4) is lowered. In the open state, the two coupling parts close the fixed line (18) or the connection to the gate (4). Suitable as a coupling are oblique plug-in couplings known per se, corresponding to the inclination of the guide arms (14).
