Abstract

The furniture has a door (1) which can be swivelled about 180 DEG and is attached to the front side (3) of a wall (2) of the furniture. The hinge fitting (10, 11, 13) is recessed in the front side of the door (1), the axis (32) of rotation of the door (1) being arranged within the door (1) so that, with the door attached in this manner, alternatively two adjacently arranged cupboard parts can be covered, one cupboard part in each case being opened and the other closed by the door. The door (1) can also advantageously be mounted subsequently on the front side of existing shelf walls in such a way that it completely covers the front side of the furniture wall to which it is attached in all positions. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a piece of furniture, such as a cupboard, shelf or the like, according to the preamble of claim 1 (FR-A-2 467 279).

To protect against dust, insight or accessibility, cupboards, shelves or the like are completely or partially closed with doors. Such doors are usually hinged to the cabinet body and pivotable on their hinge through at least 90 °. Since a door opened by 90 ° extends far into the room, it not only represents a constant obstacle and a source of danger, it also impedes the accessibility of the cabinet and can also significantly impair the incidence of light in the opened cabinet. For this reason, efforts have long been made to design the door linkage on the furniture body in such a way that a 180 ° opening is possible, as a result of which the cabinet can be opened practically completely and is easily accessible and accessible. A structurally and optically inconspicuous way of articulating such a 180 ° pivotable door is that the door hinge is designed and arranged such that the hinge axis lies in front of the end face of the furniture wall to which the door is articulated.

However, such a design has the disadvantage that a part of the front furniture wall is visible both when the door is open and when it is closed. This considerably limits the aesthetic design possibilities of a piece of furniture. In particular in the case of cupboard walls or shelving systems where a clear, functional design is important, the aim is to cover the end walls of the shelf part closed by the door as completely as possible with the door.

Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to design a generic piece of furniture in such a way that its door can completely hide the end face of the furniture wall to which it is articulated.

This object is achieved in a piece of furniture according to the preamble with the characterizing features of claim 1.

The problems mentioned are solved by the design according to the invention, in particular new possibilities are opened up for the aesthetic design possibilities of the doors. The arrangement of the axis of rotation within the door means that the end face of the furniture wall on which the door is articulated can be completely covered in the area of the door, the functionality - pivoting through 180 ° - being in no way impaired. When articulating a cabinet door on a symmetrical body middle wall, it is possible to use a door to optionally lock a right or left cabinet part or an upper or lower cabinet part, the other cabinet part being open in each case. This gives the door a new functionality, as it can be used to cover one or the other part of the cabinet. Such training is useful, for example, for a TV cabinet that covers the TV when not in use through a cabinet door, which when the Device is pivoted through 180 ° and then closes the adjacent cabinet part. The advantage of such a training is that the end positions (0 ° and 180 °) of the door create a visually closed impression and the viewer never looks at open doors, as is usual with cabinets of this type. The double function of the door also opens up undreamt-of possibilities for the user, for example when using the furniture according to the invention in a shelf wall by folding one or more doors through 180 °, numerous constellations can be created, which are otherwise only possible through a complicated conversion of the wall or not at all.

Weitere vorteilhafte Ausbildungen der Erfindung ergeben sich den Ansprüchen 2 bis 9.Further advantageous embodiments of the invention result from claims 2 to 9.

In order to prevent the door from opening unintentionally, one or more hinges of the piece of furniture according to the invention can be designed such that they engage in the closed position (0 ° and 180 °) and keep the door closed with slight pressure. Depending on the requirements, several locking positions can also be provided.

The hinge axis can advantageously be formed by two stub axles connected to a spring, which are pushed apart by spring force after the projecting part has been inserted into the U-shaped part and thus articulate the two hinge parts to one another. If a hinge is arranged near a corner of the door, the hinge axis can also be passed through one of the hinge holes aligned hole in the door.

For the fastening of the projecting part on the end face of a furniture wall, a bejonet-like connection is advantageously provided, which allows the door to be quickly assembled or disassembled from the furniture body. This allows a largely factory assembly and adjustment of the essential hinge parts on the door, which is then only attached to the furniture on site. Through this advantageous design, a door z. B. can also be retrofitted to a furniture wall, with only the fastening part to be attached to the furniture body.

An advantageous embodiment according to claim 9 allows, for example, on shelves that have holes in the side walls for pins for supporting shelves to fix the wall-side part of the hinge in these already existing holes, so that the arrangement of closed cabinets can be changed individually with a few simple steps is.

The hinge shown in FIG. 1 is provided for the articulation of a door 1 to a vertical furniture wall 2, as shown for example in FIG. 11. In Fig. 11, each of the four doors 1 is with two hinges attached to a vertical furniture wall 2. For this purpose, a slot-like recess 4 is provided in the end face 3 of the furniture wall 2, in which a fastening part 5 is seated (FIG. 1). The furniture wall 2 is made of wood, in this embodiment made of pressboard, and has in the recess 4 on its end face 3 two holes 7, sit in the dowel 6, with which the screws 8 are anchored to the part 5 in the wall 2 . The fastening part 5 is narrower than the end face 3 of the furniture wall 2 and, in the installed state, sits flush with the end face 3, a mushroom-shaped extension 9 protruding from the end face 3. The length of the fastening part 5 is chosen so that it is completely covered by the remaining parts of the hinge in the assembled state and is not visible. The fastening part 5 is shown in FIGS. 3A (side view) and 3B (top view) in detail.

The fastening part 5 serves to connect a projecting part 10, which is shown in FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C in detail and which together with the fastening part 5 forms the cabinet-side part of the hinge. 2B shows a view, 2C shows a plan view and 2A shows a section along the line aa in FIG. 2B of the projecting part 10. The projecting part 10 is designed as an essentially solid block which is rounded toward the door-side part 11 of the hinge. The part 10 has the same width as the furniture wall 2, so that in the assembled state (FIG. 5) it closes laterally with it. Its length is chosen so that it completely covers the fastening part 5 in the assembled position. In its longitudinal direction, the projecting part 10 has a through hole 12 which is provided for receiving an axis 13 of the hinge. In addition to the through hole 12 are in the same plane parallel to the end face 3 (in built Condition) two blind holes 14 are provided, in which coil springs, not shown, are arranged, each pressing a ball 14 in the direction of the hinge part 11 on the door side. These spring-loaded balls 14 together with corresponding bores 15 in the door-side part 11 form a locking device, which will be explained in the following. In the face side 3 of the projecting part 10 facing the end face 3, a recess 16 is provided, which is provided for receiving the projection 9. The recess 16 is designed such that it is positively connected to the fastening part 5 in five directions after insertion of the projecting projection 9 and sliding downward (to the left in FIGS. 2A and 2B). In the assembled state, the part 10 is connected via the axis 13 to the door-side part 11 and the door 1 and is held in the locked position with the fastening part 5 by the weight of the door 1. This attachment is therefore only suitable for doors that are to be attached to vertical side walls, with a door or flap that is to be attached to a horizontal wall, the door 1 or part 10 must be spring-loaded in the corresponding direction or another lockable Closure can be used.

The part 10 projecting on the front side 3 of the furniture wall 2 is connected via an axis 13 to the part 11 on the door side, which is shown in detail in FIG. 4. 4A shows a view of the door-side part 11, FIG. 4B shows a section along the line bb in FIG. 4A and FIG. 4C shows a plan view. The side part 11 of the hinge is approximately U-shaped in side view, the distance between its legs 17 being approximately greater than the length of the projecting part 10. The U-shaped part sits completely in a corresponding one Recess in the front of the door 1 (Fig. 1 left and Fig. 5A) and is fastened in this embodiment with two screws 8 with its web 18 on the door 1. For this purpose, the door 1 has two bores 7, in which the screws 8 are anchored with dowels 6. In this embodiment, the door-side part 11 has a peripheral edge 19 which covers the connection points between the door-side part 11 and the door 1. The legs 17 each have a central bore 20 which runs parallel to the longitudinal side of the door 1 and which is provided for receiving the axis 13. 1 and 4 show, two smaller bores 15 are provided on both sides next to the bore 20 in a leg 17, the diameter of which is smaller than that of the balls 14 and which are provided for engaging the spring-loaded balls 14. The curvature at the leg ends only adapts to the end face of the door 1 which is also curved in this embodiment and, in contrast to the approximately semi-cylindrical shape of the front part of the projecting part 10, has no functional but only aesthetic significance.

The parts 10 and 11 are connected to one another by an axis 13 which, in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, consists of two stub axles 21 which are connected to a helical spring 22. To assemble the hinge, the axis 13 is pushed into the through hole 12 of the projecting part 10 and compressed so far that the part 10 can be pushed between the legs 17 of the door-side part 11. As soon as the part 10 has reached its predetermined position, in which the through hole 12 is arranged in alignment with the holes 20, the axis 13 is pressed apart by spring force, so that the stub axles 21 are pushed into the holes 20 provided for this purpose and the two parts 10 and 11 swiveling are interconnected. For technical reasons, the holes 20 are designed as through holes, although 13 blind holes would be required for the axis shown in FIG. 1. The bores 20 are limited in the installed state of part 11 by the material of the door 1, which bears on the outer sides of legs 17 and web 18.

The hinge preassembled on the door 1 in the manner described above is pushed for connection to the cabinet 2 with the recess 16 over the extension 9 of the fastening part 5 (which is already attached to the cabinet 2), after which the door slides into the locked end position by its own weight . For hinging a door, for example 80 cm high, two of the hinges shown in Fig. 1 are required, for higher doors three or more hinges can be used depending on the load, the attachment of a door with only one hinge is also conceivable, the design of the hinge must be changed accordingly so that transverse forces can be safely absorbed and that the door can hang straight.

For doors that are hinged to a furniture wall 2 with only two hinges, an axis 13 eine, as shown in FIG. 4B, can also be used. The axis 13ʹ has at its lower end a thread 23 which can be screwed into a corresponding threaded hole 20ʹ in one leg of the door-side part 11. When using the 13ʹ axis, the hinge should be located as close as possible to the top or bottom of the door, since the 13ʹ axis extends to the top or bottom of the door. To attach the axis 13ʹ is a corresponding through hole, not shown, inside the door required, which is aligned with the holes 12 and 20. About the through hole in the door 1 to the top or bottom of the door, the axis 13ʹ can be inserted and then screwed, so that the releasable connection between the fastening part 5 and the projecting part 10 can be dispensed with, since the hinge connection by removing the Axis 13ʹ is easy to solve. Furthermore, the axis 13 can be integrated within the projecting part 10 in such a way that the stub axles 21 can be extended from the plane side, for example by screws, via a translation within the part 10.

As can be clearly seen in FIGS. 1, 2, 4 and 5, the locking bores 15 and the spring-loaded balls 14 are arranged with respect to one another in such a way that they snap into the 0 ° and 180 ° position of the door, as a result of which an unintentional opening will occur and closing of the door prevents, which is particularly important for doors that are optionally provided for closing a right or left compartment, since for magnetic reasons no magnetic locks or the like can be attached here. The latching device formed by the spring-loaded balls 14 is only one exemplary embodiment, the latching of the door in different positions can also be achieved, for example, by a correspondingly angular design of the projecting part 10 and part 11 on the door side (web inside).

Fig. 6 shows a further embodiment of the wall-side part, consisting of a fastening part 5ʹ (view Fig. 6A, top view Fig. 6B in the installed state) and a projecting part 10ʹ (view Fig. 6C and top view Fig. 6D). The fastening part 5ʹ has a dovetail profile corresponding to the recess 24 in the projecting part 10ʹ on, which is limited by a cross plate 25 on the underside. The fastening part 5ʹ is fastened with two screws 8 in the end face 3 of the furniture wall 2, the dovetail profile protruding on the end face 3 and in the assembled state (FIG. 6B) accommodating the projecting part 10ʹ, which has the recess 24 on the profile from above is pushed until it rests on the lower cross plate 25. This position is also held by the weight of the door 1.

Fig. 8 zeigt ein aus den Teilen 5ʹ, 10ʹ, 11ʹ und 13ʹ gemäß den Fig. 6 und 7 montiertes Scharnier.7A and 7B show in plan and top view a further embodiment of a door-side part 11ʹ, which differs from the part 11 shown in FIG. 1 essentially by the missing edge 19, as a result of which the approach between the part 11 and the door 1 is visible. The functional structure of the door-side parts 11 and 11ʹ is essentially the same. Fig. 8 shows a hinge made of parts 5ʹ, 10ʹ, 11ʹ and 13ʹ according to FIGS. 6 and 7.

Fig. 9 shows a further embodiment of the wall-side hinge part, the associated door-side part 11 corresponds to the previous statements. The projecting part 10ʺ corresponds in its outer shape to the parts 10 and 10ʹ described above and also has a through hole 12 and possibly spring-loaded balls 14 as a locking device; however, it is flat towards the end face 3 of the furniture wall 2 and lies loosely against it. It is held by two tongues 26 which rest on the side surfaces of the furniture wall 2. In this embodiment, the tongues 26 have two bores 28 near the ends on the cabinet side, each of which is aligned with the opposite bores 28 and corresponding bores in the furniture wall 2. Through the holes 28, the two tongues 26 are via a screw connection 27 connected to each other and to the furniture wall 2. This fastening method is particularly advantageous in shelving systems, the vertical side walls 2 of which are provided with numerous transverse bores 29 for the insertion of support pins (not shown); the support pins serve in a known manner as a support for shelves. In this way, cabinet doors can be attached to the already existing transverse bores 29 without the side wall part 2 having to be machined in any way. By later dismantling the hinges, the original state of the side wall can be restored at any time without leaving any visible traces on the furniture, since the projecting part 10ʺ only lies flat against the end face 3. Such a fastening enables individual design of a control wall, since the arrangement of doors is largely reserved for personal ideas.

In order to be able to keep the hinge construction unchanged, instead of a door 1, only a wooden strip 30 is attached to the hinges, to which a glass pane 31 is screwed. For weight reasons alone, the glass pane is generally chosen to be significantly thinner than the wooden strip, so that the connection between the glass pane and the wooden pane can be made largely concealed within a groove, which also provides the contact surface necessary for the secure connection of the strip 30 and the glass pane 31.

The hinge fittings described above with reference to the figures all have the same basic principle that the axis of rotation 32 (longitudinal axis of the axis 13) is arranged inside the door 1, so that when the door is pivoted 1 part of the door is swung away from the furniture and another part of the door is swiveled towards the furniture. The arrangement of the axis of rotation 32 within the door 1 is achieved in that the door-side part 11 of the hinge fitting is so far embedded in the front side of the door 1 that the axis 13 of the hinge and thus also the axis of rotation 32 lies within the door 1. In order to ensure free pivoting of the door, it is necessary for the axis of rotation 32 of the door 1 to be at a distance from the end face 3 of the furniture wall 2 which is at least as large as half the door thickness (material thickness of the door): this distance should preferably be used to compensate for manufacturing tolerances to be approximately larger. If the material thickness of the furniture wall 2 is greater than that of the door 1, the axis of rotation 32 must be arranged at a distance from the end face 3, this distance being at least as large as half the thickness of the furniture wall 2. In order to achieve a complete covering of the end face 3 by the door 1, the distance between the axis of rotation 32 and the hinge-side end face of the door 1 must also correspond to at least half the material thickness of the furniture wall 2. In order to ensure that the door 1 can move freely, the distance between the axis of rotation 32 and the end face 3 of the furniture wall 2 must be slightly greater than its distance from the hinged end face of the door 1.

Taking into account the specified geometrical conditions, different material thicknesses of door 1 and furniture wall 2 can also be combined with one another, ensuring that the end face 3 is completely covered by the door 1.
