Abstract

Description

The invention relates to a furniture element comprising a first furniture part and a second furniture part, wherein the first furniture part is arranged pivotably relative to the second furniture part by means of a hinge arrangement, wherein the hinge arrangement has at least a first hinge part which is connected to the first furniture part, and at least a second hinge part which is connected to the second furniture part, wherein the first hinge part and the second hinge part are penetrated by a hinge axis extending in an axial direction to produce the hinge function.

A generic furniture element is, for example, from DE 86 03 912 U1 known. To create a hinge function between two furniture parts, each of the two furniture parts is screwed to a hinge part. The two hinge parts are passed through by a hinge axis, which creates the hinge function.

The production and assembly of the furniture element are therefore relatively complex and therefore cost-intensive. Furthermore, the stability is correspondingly limited, particularly in the case of furniture elements such as table legs, which extend over a relatively long length.

The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a furniture element of the type mentioned in such a way that a very stable hinge function can be produced between two furniture parts, and this should be possible in an economical manner with regard to both the production of the components and their assembly.

The solution to this problem by the invention is characterized in that both hinge parts each have at least one projection extending in the radial direction, wherein at least one recess is formed in the first and second furniture part, into which the projection engages with an undercut to the radial direction.

The undercut prevents the hinge part from moving in the radial direction relative to the furniture part. The hinge part is thus fixed in the radial direction relative to the furniture part.

In this way, the furniture element can be manufactured inexpensively and, above all, assembled quickly, easily and inexpensively. Screw connections are no longer required; after inserting the respective hinge parts into the two furniture parts (in the axial direction), only the hinge axis needs to be inserted in order to establish the hinge function and to be able to pivot the two furniture parts relative to each other.

According to a preferred embodiment, the furniture element is a table leg, which consists of the two furniture parts including a hinge arrangement. In this case, it can be advantageous if the two furniture parts fit together with a miter. The table leg can in particular be part of a folding table or frame.

The two hinge parts particularly preferably have an identical geometry. An advantageous embodiment in this respect provides that the hinge parts consist of a continuously cast, extruded or extruded profile. A preferred embodiment of the invention provides that each hinge part has two projections extending in the radial direction, at the end of which a section extending in the circumferential direction is arranged. The hinge parts are preferably made of metal, especially light metal such as aluminum or magnesium.

The first and second furniture parts are preferably geometrically identical.

The proposed solution makes it possible to create a hinge function between two furniture parts using easy-to-manufacture profile parts (preferably manufactured as continuously cast, extruded or extruded profiles).

It is particularly advantageous that all the hinge parts required can be geometrically identical and can be cut to the required length from a profile.
