Abstract

L'utilisation de procédés de chromage de grande efficacité a été contrariée par l'incapacité d'obtenir une bonne adhésion du revêtement. L'invention concerne un procédé d'électrodéposition de chrome sur un substrat métallique tel qu'un métal ferreux, de l'acier inox ou de la fonte, lequel comprend l'étape d'activation du substrat par attaque électrolytique dans une solution d'activation. La solution d'activation est choisie parmi a) une solution sensiblement neutre b) un mélange d'acide sulfurique avec addition d'ion sulfate et un agent d'oxydation inorganique, c) un mélange d'acide chromique et d'ions chlorure ou d) une solution de polarisation d'oxydation anodique. L'utilisation d'une telle solution d'activation résout les problèmes d'adhésion rencontrés jusqu'à présent.
