Definitions
- the present invention relates to a powder coating booth with a bottom filter belt, at least one suction nozzle provided for cleaning the filter belt and at least one suction blower which is operatively connected to the suction nozzle, the suction nozzle being movable to and fro by means of a drive belt.
- the filter belt In this known cabin, the filter belt is stationary during the coating. A nozzle travels back and forth along the entire length of the belt, with the powder that has fallen down being collected through slots. A connection by means of a hose from this nozzle to the outside has the disadvantage that the hose is always in the area of the coating, which can lead to faults.
- the width and length of this conveyor belt extend over the entire space from which the powder is sucked off via a suction line.
- Guide rails are provided on the side of the conveyor belt.
- the conveyor belt is cleaned here exclusively with the aid of the suction fan, in which case the excess powder definitely falls into the space since the conveyor belt is endless and the paint particles therefore fall off or are sucked away from the underside of the lower run of the conveyor belt.
- the conveyor belt is sealed to the outside by means of a pair of rollers.
- This embodiment cannot solve the problem of sealing in powder coating booths with a bottom filter and a movable suction nozzle, since the basic principle of this powder recovery is completely different from that of the present invention. Problems have to be overcome here that do not arise there.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a powder coating booth according to the preamble of claim 1, which does not have the disadvantage mentioned above. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1.
- the invention offers an optimal solution for the airway of the suction and cleaning as well as further advantageous technical solutions that simplify the color change.
- the known electrostatic powder coating system 1 shown in FIG. 1 is provided with a cabin 2 in which a device 3 for dispensing electrostatically charged powder is arranged.
- a filter belt 5 movable through the cabin 2 is provided on the bottom side 10.
- a first suction fan 35 is connected over a large area in the area of the floor 10 of the cabin 2. It creates a suction field with negative pressure through the filter belt 5 in the cabin 2.
- a cleaning device 13 assigned to the filter belt 5 serves to remove the excess powder lying on the filter belt 5.
- actuating means 6, 7 enable the filter band 5 to be retightened by at least one cabin length and thus to assign each filter color to its filter band zone.
- This multicolor booth represents an optimum in terms of expenditure and time.
- the powder recovery system is also shown for the sake of completeness, although it does not affect the present invention.
- Fig. 2 shows the side view of the cabin 2. Its coating space 51 is surrounded by sheet metal walls. A band-shaped bottom filter 52 is fixed on rollers 53 at both ends. The exhaust air is led into the open via a floor pan 58 and an exhaust air duct 59 via a fan, corresponding to the fan 35 in FIG. 1.
- a suction nozzle 56 is provided, which is moved back and forth via the bottom filter 52 via a drive with one or two drive belts 54 and a motor 55.
- the two opposing belts 54 which are designed as toothed belts, are coupled by a connecting shaft (not shown) in order to obtain synchronous running.
- FIG. 4 shows the construction of the bottom filter 52 and the bottom pan 58. It is important for such a system that the air distribution at the bottom filter 52 for the suction is uniform in order to prevent overloading of the individual filter belt segments.
- the cabin floor When cleaning and changing the color, the cabin floor must be accessible. All of these requirements can best be achieved by covering the floor pan 58 with a perforated plate 61 of approximately 5-20 mm in diameter.
- a plastic band 60 with, for example round or rectangular, openings of 3-10 is placed over it mm diameter or side length placed so that the air flow is further improved and no damage occurs when changing color by rotating the rollers 53.
- the nozzle 56 is placed in a so-called guide frame 63 (FIGS. 4, 5).
- This guide frame 63 is firmly connected on both sides to the drive of the toothed belt 54.
- the belt 54 is interrupted here and these free ends are connected via the guide frame 63 (Fig. 6).
- the lead frame 63 is. formed in such a way that a transition of the air to a longitudinal channel 57 via a guide frame end profile 65 is possible at the ends. This profile 65 extends to the beginning of the filter belt. Thereafter, the guide frame 63 consists of two parallel webs, into which nozzle elements 73 forming the nozzle 56 are inserted.
- the suction nozzle 56 is constructed such that, depending on the bandwidth, it consists of one or more of these elements 73.
- the reason for this measure is that the individual elements 73 optimally compensate for any unevenness and inaccuracies in the floor filter 52, e.g. of the edition, can adjust.
- the elements 73 are provided with rubber lips 67 at the top and sides in order to obtain a better seal.
- the nozzle elements 73 are made of e.g. round or square, made of profiles. Teflon pads 68 are attached to the underside so that the belt abrasion and friction remain as low as possible.
- Longitudinal slots 64 for suction are either provided continuously with a width of approximately 2-10 mm, or in two rows, mutually offset, which results in improved cleaning.
- the powder-air mixture is guided from the reciprocating suction nozzle 56 via the guide frame end profiles 65 into the longitudinal channel 57.
- This consists of, e.g. round or square, profiles with a longitudinal slot 64 on the top.
- a guide 69 for the guide frame 63 runs therein.
- the longitudinal slot 64 is also covered by the drive belt 54, which is sucked in by the negative pressure prevailing in the longitudinal channel 66 and thus seals.
- the air-powder mixture is then brought into a recovery system (FIG. 1) via a suction nozzle 71.
- a plurality of suction nozzles 71 are preferably attached to the longitudinal channel 57, since this allows the position of the suction system to be optimally selected.
- a suction nozzle for the walls etc. can be connected to one of the supports 71.
- a longitudinal channel 66 can be attached to both sides of the cabin (FIG. 3). When changing colors, it is then necessary to clean the nozzle elements and to switch from one longitudinal channel 66 to the other.
- the suction unit can then be connected to the second longitudinal channel 66 or even be available as a second unit for the next color. This saves time when changing colors because the cleaning effort is reduced.
- the longitudinal channels 57 are provided with lids 72 at the ends, so that the channel can be quickly cleaned by means of a brush if necessary.
- Such covers 72 are also attached to the profiles 65 of the guide frame 63.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a powder coating booth with a bottom filter belt, at least one suction nozzle provided for cleaning the filter belt and at least one suction blower which is operatively connected to the suction nozzle, the suction nozzle being movable to and fro by means of a drive belt.
In a cabin of this type known from EP-A-141778, certain problems arise with regard to the transition from the longitudinally moving nozzle to the suction system.
In this known cabin, the filter belt is stationary during the coating. A nozzle travels back and forth along the entire length of the belt, with the powder that has fallen down being collected through slots. A connection by means of a hose from this nozzle to the outside has the disadvantage that the hose is always in the area of the coating, which can lead to faults.
In the case of powder coating booths, it is also common to provide a conveyor belt as the booth floor in order to remove the powder falling onto the booth floor (AT-A-338 392). In this embodiment, the width and length of this conveyor belt extend over the entire space from which the powder is sucked off via a suction line. Guide rails are provided on the side of the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt is cleaned here exclusively with the aid of the suction fan, in which case the excess powder definitely falls into the space since the conveyor belt is endless and the paint particles therefore fall off or are sucked away from the underside of the lower run of the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt is sealed to the outside by means of a pair of rollers.
This embodiment cannot solve the problem of sealing in powder coating booths with a bottom filter and a movable suction nozzle, since the basic principle of this powder recovery is completely different from that of the present invention. Problems have to be overcome here that do not arise there.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a powder coating booth according to the preamble of claim 1, which does not have the disadvantage mentioned above. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1.
The invention offers an optimal solution for the airway of the suction and cleaning as well as further advantageous technical solutions that simplify the color change.
The invention is subsequently explained, for example, with reference to a drawing.

The known electrostatic powder coating system 1 shown in FIG. 1 is provided with a
Fig. 2 stellt die Seitenansicht der Kabine 2 dar. Fig. 2 shows the side view of the
For the belt cleaning, a
Dies geschieht durch den Einbau einer Rutschkupplung 62 im Zahnriemenantrieb.4 shows the construction of the
For the function of this system, it is crucial that the powder is extracted well, otherwise cleaning is not guaranteed. The
The
The
At one end, the
During operation, the powder-air mixture is guided from the reciprocating
In multi-color systems, a
The suction unit can then be connected to the second
The
