Definitions
- the object which is to be achieved with the present invention is to create a impact detonator which is capable of defusing itself if the projectile is not detonated immediately when it hits the target.
- a bolt is preferably provided as a means for triggering the inhibiting mechanism, which locks the inhibiting mechanism in a first position, which releases the inhibiting mechanism in a second position and which, due to its inertia when the projectile is delayed by impact, shifts from the blocking position into the release position.
- an igniter head 12 is fastened to an igniter housing 10 of the impact igniter 11 by means of a thread 13.
- the detonator head 12 is screwed into a floor (not shown) with the aid of a second thread 14.
- a sleeve 16 with an amplifier charge 17 and with a dud insert 18 is fastened with the aid of a further thread 15.
- An ignition pin 19 is slidably mounted in the ignition head 12, of which only the tip is indicated in the drawing. This firing pin 19 is used to pierce a squib 20, the is located in a slide 21.
- This slide 21 can shift from the safety position shown in the direction of arrow A to its armed position, such that the squib 20 reaches the area of the firing pin 19.
- a housing 22 is inserted, in which the essential organs of an impact detonator 11 are located, in particular an inhibitor mechanism 23, which ensures the safety of the detonator's fore-pipe.
- This escapement 23 means that the slide 21 can only move into its armed position when the projectile is no longer in the vicinity of the gun from which it was launched after the launch.
- the detonator housing 10 has a central bore 24 in which an explosive core 25 is located. This explosive core 25 is ignited by the squib 20 and in turn ignites the booster charge 17 through the dud insert 18.
- a trigger bolt 26 is displaceably mounted in the detonator housing 10. This release bolt 26 is supported with its front end on the slide 21 as long as it is in its safety position. The rear end of the release pin 26 protrudes into the dud insert 18. As will be described further below, the connection between the explosive core 25 and the booster charge 17 is interrupted as soon as the trigger bolt 26 slides out of the dud insert 18.

Abstract
It happens again and again that a detonator does not work and the projectile remains as a dud. If such a dud is found, there is a risk that it will explode in the hand of the finder. To avoid this danger, the impact detonator should be able to defuse itself in a dud. According to the invention, this is achieved in that there is an unexploded ordnance insert in the impact detonator between an explosive core and a booster charge, which contains an escapement which moves a rotor from its arming position to its safety position after a certain delay time and in that means are provided which are caused by the delay in the impact, if the projectile hits the target, trigger the inhibitor.

No. 2,999,461 or EP-OS 0155449.
As is well known, it often happens that such a detonator does not work and the projectile remains on the field as a so-called dud. It happens again and again that such a dud is found and then explodes in the hand of the finder.
The object which is to be achieved with the present invention is to create a impact detonator which is capable of defusing itself if the projectile is not detonated immediately when it hits the target.

A bolt is preferably provided as a means for triggering the inhibiting mechanism, which locks the inhibiting mechanism in a first position, which releases the inhibiting mechanism in a second position and which, due to its inertia when the projectile is delayed by impact, shifts from the blocking position into the release position.
- Fig.3 einen Querschnitt nach Linie III-III in Fig.2, und
- Fig.4 einen Schnitt nach Linie IV-IV in Fig.3.
- 1 shows a longitudinal section through an impact detonator with the dud insert according to the invention,
- 2 shows a longitudinal section through the unexploded ordinance on an enlarged scale,
- 3 shows a cross section along line III-III in Figure 2, and
- 4 shows a section along line IV-IV in Fig.3.
This unexploded ordnance deployment is described in detail below with reference to FIGS. 2-4.
According to FIGS. 2 and 3, a
According to FIGS. 3 and 4, there is also a
According to FIG. 2, the
- Before the projectile is fired, the
rotor 28 of thedud insert 18 is in its armed position according to FIGS. 2 and 3 and is held in this position by therelease bolt 26. Theprestressed spring 37 tends to turn thedisk 33 clockwise, so theconical surface 54 of thebore 41 of thisdisk 33 presses against thegroove 53 of therelease bolt 26 and makes it more difficult for it to fall out of theunexploded insert 18 unintentionallySlider 21 in its safety position according to Fig.l, whereby a displacement of therelease pin 26 is prevented by theslider 21, since the front end of thebolt 26 is supported on theslider 21. After the projectile has been fired, ie as soon as the projectile is no longer in the area of the weapon from which it was launched, theslide 21 with thesquib 20 moves into its focus lung. This shift takes place in a manner known per se and is therefore not described in more detail here. After this displacement of theslide 21, thetrigger bolt 26 is freely displaceable. However, the delay or braking of the projectile caused by the air resistance is not sufficient to move thetrigger pin 26 forward. As soon as the projectile hits the target, however, the braking or deceleration of the projectile is so great that thetrigger pin 26 moves forward and completely falls out of the dud insert. Thespring 37 is now able to turn thedisk 33 clockwise. This rotation of thedisk 33 is slowed down by therestlessness 48 and the gears 44-47. After a rotation of thedisc 33 by an angle of approximately 90 0, thesector gear 40 comes out of engagement with thegear 44, so thedisc 33 that much more quickly again by an angle of approximately 90 ° can continue to rotate. However, the edge 43a of theelongated hole 43 of thedisk 33 abuts thesleeve 31 of theexplosive core 30 after thedisk 33 has been rotated through an angle of 90 °, as a result of which therotor 28 is also rotated through an angle of 90 °. Therotor 28 thus moves from its focus to the safety position. Theexplosive core 30 in therotor 28 is no longer in alignment with theexplosive core 25 in thedetonator housing 10 and the booster charge 17 (FIG. 1) can no longer be ignited unless it has already been ignited.
When the bullet hits the target, the
However, if the
